Integrated business processes have improved real-time analytics and financial performance
Whether I or my customers utilize SAP HANA's real-time analytics depends on the data needed to be displayed, and then choosing how to transfer the data to the analytic object, data source, or database to be displayed in the reports. It may be near real-time, real-time, or running batch every day. There are tools for integration between third-party systems, such as OData or APIs from SAP to get in or push data to other systems. Support for both structured and unstructured data helps organizations unify data sources depending on the needed data to be displayed. There are many ways to store it for report displays, but structured data will be better than unstructured data.

The documentation for YugabyteDB Aeon needs to be improved. It does not come across as beginner-friendly documentation. If someone from a different field were to use YugabyteDB Aeon, they would find it difficult to get started. Other than that, it is really good; the system is good, and the architecture and features are really good. I do not know how large the YugabyteDB Aeon community is because I have not heard of it or come across any community posts. I do not think any other features need to be improved. An important issue I faced while using YugabyteDB Aeon was that it needs to follow a sequence like one, two, three, four, and so on, but YugabyteDB Aeon does not follow this pattern in a certain aspect.

Quotes from Members

Pros

"The solution is easy to scale."
"SAP HANA is very flexible and supports many different scenarios as it can work with analytics, GenAI use cases, and also supports transactional applications."
"The data storage requirement is reduced from the original database to the HANA database."
"SAP HANA's best features are its programmability and extensibility - you can size and shape the software however you need."
"The solution is extremely stable. That's the most important aspect of the solution, for our organization. There is no downtime, and the performance is very good."
"This product covers almost everything, and it's scalable and very innovative."
"The user interface is very good. You can do any kind of reporting analytics from the platform."
"The tool is an in-memory database that stores and retrieves data very quickly. This speed makes it faster to use and maintain data, as no additional processes move data between memory and disk."
"The best features YugabyteDB Aeon offers are that it is a fully managed YugabyteDB service that allows running a YugabyteDB cluster in a multi-cloud environment."
"Other than that, it is really good; the system is good, and the architecture and features are really good."
"YugabyteDB Aeon has positively impacted my organization by reducing our downtime and effort when the server goes down since we only need to restart it and ensure all utilities are up, and with YugabyteDB Aeon, we do not need to go through that restarting process; we just need to route the traffic to different nodes and distributed clusters in our cloud-native environment."

Cons

"The SAP ERP processes are quite complex and it can be challenging."
"The high price of the product is an area of concern where improvements are required."
"There is room for improvement in the deployment process as it takes much time and is time-consuming and complex."
"The solution needs to work on its performance and make it faster."
"I would not recommend SAP HANA because it has some issues with the speed and scalability of the size. It's also extremely expensive."
"The initial setup was pretty complex, considering the enormous amount of data they had from an Oracle ERP."

"The licensing cost for SAP HANA is approximately $200 per user per month."
