Testing has become realistic and routine as our team validates distributed failures and workloads
The features I find most valuable in YugabyteDB Aeon are the PostgreSQL compatibility, automated data distribution, and built-in fault tolerance. From a QA perspective, I particularly value that I can test realistic failure scenarios without having to build the entire distributed infrastructure myself. PostgreSQL compatibility made testing easier because our team can use familiar SQL queries and existing database testing approaches without having to learn a completely different query language. When validating application changes, I can reuse queries for checking record counts, joins, and transactions and data consistency, and compare the results with our expected data. Automated data distribution saves us setup time, especially when we are preparing environments for load and resilience testing. We do not have to manually partition data sets or decide which node should handle specific data. YugabyteDB Aeon takes care of distributing the data across the cluster, so our setup is more focused on the test scenario itself. YugabyteDB Aeon has mainly improved our ability to test applications under realistic distributed database conditions. We can include scalability, failover, and high concurrency scenarios in our regular QA process instead of treating them as separate infrastructure tests.
