Requires little maintenance, is stable, and easy to deploy
Oracle Application Testing Suite can improve by covering more browsers as compared to other solutions because they're considering the Edge browser as well, but the solution is working on different Windows operating platforms. For example, in our current Windows 2012 R2 server, if I want to automate the Edge browser, I need to upgrade that particular Windows to Windows 10.1 or some other Windows platform, because it's not supported in Windows 2012 feature. That is an issue. If cross-browsers can be incorporated, then support should be provided. There should be a single operating system where everything can be incorporated. I have faced issues with some indexing items. For example, the solution is able to derive some properties from the screen, such as button locations or text locations, but there are some elements, for example, unnamed buttons or text, where there is no name or ID or any other identifying information. Indexing doesn't always work, and we have to go to those elements manually and inspect them to determine their class, and then input that information into the system.

Performance testing has delivered diverse global retail loads and generates clear diagnostic reports
I did not notice any weak points or downsides in Tricentis NeoLoad except for the cost. Everything else is good with the tool. When I consider that service customers have to pay the cost for the load generation, I find that the cost increases, especially when I want to generate a load for a global customer with different loads in different regions.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We find the front-end interface of this solution to be very user-friendly, meaning easy navigation even for novice users."
"The most valuable feature is the object identification feature, the recording feature is the prime feature that open script has, and I also like the connectivity with Oracle Forms as it is very compatible."
"User friendly UI / Tree view to work with adding steps."
"My advice to others is if they are using any Oracle Cloud Fusion-based or on-premise-based application, this is a good solution to use."
"Implementation of Oracle Application Testing Suite package has increased the overall efficiency."
"The function test feature is valuable."
"Oracle Application Testing Suite's most valuable feature is it works very smoothly with all Oracle Java-based applications."
"The best feature of this and Load Test is simplicity."
"It provides easy mobile performance testing solution for our customers."
"The most effective aspect is especially when I'm renaming all the scripting factors, basically the containers that I use."
"Outside of the obvious benefits of load testing, the data we get back and are able to provide at the executive level provide a level comfort in the given application at peak periods, and drives direction for future performance-oriented projects and goals."
"There are several key features, including Jenkins integration, infrastructure monitoring, and results analysis."
"NeoLoad is actually really good, mainly because they have a world-class support service."
"It’s very easy for a person without any performance testing experience to use."
"The solution is a UI-based tool, so it's easy to use because we don't have to do actual recording with it. This makes it easier to use, and, in terms of speed, it's a bit faster than other tools when it comes to scripting."
"I particularly like Neoload’s ease of use, built in monitoring and their extensive library of wireless devices and protocols."

Cons

"If there's a feature we want in OATS that's missing and we report that to Oracle, it takes a long time."
"Performance is slow as compared to other tools like QTP."
"It needs to be compatible with all browsers."
"I have faced issues with some indexing items."
"There are certain bugs which were present but was cleared in subsequent releases of application, but still there is room for improvement in the Functionality testing tool when automating form-based applications."
"OATS has some promising features that frankly we wish we could utilize, but so far we haven’t had much luck doing so."
"OTM Test Report – We needed to develop custom reports as there is less flexibility."
"Transaction handling was very simple and I’d say quite primitive."
"The protocol support area could be improved."
"An area for improvement in Tricentis NeoLoad is its integration with third-party tools because, at the moment, it's a bit complicated. Per Tricentis, you can integrate Tricentis NeoLoad with different monitoring tools such as Dynatrace and New Relic, but that requires installing an additional tool to make that integration happen, rather than being able to pull in Tricentis NeoLoad from the different tools and servers, and make integration simpler and easier."
"We had some initial issues with the number of tests, memory leaks, and the controller itself."
"For scalability, I can rate Tricentis NeoLoad around three, and I feel it is a third party."
"The bigger the project, the slower it opens in the tool (as expected) but many times can be excruciatingly slow."
"An area for improvement in Tricentis NeoLoad is its price, as it has a hefty price tag."
"Sometimes it's complicated to maintain the test cases."
"It needs improvements when handling binary values."

"Customers need to negotiate properly to get the tool at a lower price."
"The price of the Oracle Application Testing Suite is not expensive. It is less expensive than other solutions."
"The solution requires an annual license."
"Licence cost is very attractive compared to other vendor tools and also there are many license alternatives."
"The licensing cost is less compared to other licensing performance testing tools."
"I don't have information on the licensing cost of Tricentis NeoLoad because my manager handles that. From a testing perspective and based on company requirements, the current license is for one thousand users."

"The vendor offers flexible licensing options"
"I'd rate it a seven out of ten in terms of pricing"
