A tool that offers good UI and documentation
Webroot Business Endpoint Protection had sent me a physical installation medium, which was very easy to obtain and deploy. It was also easy to configure, and it had a nice UI. I didn't have any problems with the product. I think that Webroot Business Endpoint Protection is very transparent about the pricing models offered to users. The tool also maintains transparency about the features and specifications. Previously, when I compared the two products with Webroot Business Endpoint Protection, I saw that with Trend Micro, it is very difficult to transparently find out what it offers and how much it charges for it.
Amey Darekar - PeerSpot reviewer
Offers centralized security management and flexibility
The improvements required in the product depend on how it is used, meaning it can be used for endpoint security or email and collaboration security. The web gateway is used along with anti-malware, advanced protection, URL filtering, application control, and data protection. I don't have any improvements to suggest in the tool as of now, and not at least for now, as per my security assessment. There are certain concerns with the product's stability, so it is an area where improvements are required.

"Auto-Remediation"
"The initial setup is not complex at all. It's very straightforward."
"I haven't observed any of the instabilities in the solution. It is a stable solution."
"The antivirus signature is valuable."
"It is their most comprehensive endpoint protection solution. It includes DLP and Office 365. It also includes device control and the rest of the little bells and whistles that the traditional AV vendors have."
"The configuration is easy."
"Integrates easily with almost every third-party product"
"The most effective features of Trend Micro Smart Protection are its antivirus and malware capabilities."
"Trend Micro Smart Protection has good features like malware analysis, C-to-C connection and detection, workbench, auto security play with features, and lots of DDI features."
"The tool offers centralized security management. The tool's deployment is flexible."
"The most valuable features of the solution are ransomware protection, device control, and DLP."

Cons

"Unified threat management (UTM) integration."
"I believe that Webroot Business Endpoint Protection should offer a more modern UI."
"There should be a Webroot Business Endpoint Protection mobile app."
"I'm not happy with Webroot Business Endpoint Protection, for only one reason. It seems that it slows down my interface when I'm doing programming in Microsoft Access, tremendously."
"The only complaint I have with Webroot is its inability to prevent UoD phishing and its inability to check against bots or block anti-attacks. Plus the URL server is in zero-definition."
"Webroot Business Endpoint Protection needs to improve its ability to detect threats."
"The console spins up relatively slowly, and some of the configuration items are obscure (e.g., reporting back one time per day is a default setting) and need to be tweaked."
"The reporting is the weakest part of the Webroot console. Frequently, I export to Excel to massage something into it to pass on to others."
"There is room for improvement to make it better for customers."
"Trend Micro Smart Protection is a very system-intensive product, and it would be better if it could be made less burdensome on the resources."
"Some functionalities within the DLP can be improved."
"The dashboard or console of Trend Micro Smart Protection should be easier to comprehend"
"I want the tool to provide the solutions integrated within it to have regular updates. Currently, the solutions integrated with Smart Protection get updates from the cloud. I want to minimize the download from the cloud."
"The only drawback to this solution is that it needs different products for different types of clients, and it would be better to have a single agent for all of the products."
"The solution's device control options are not too beneficial."
"Smart Protection could be more compatible with older operating systems like Windows XP and Windows 2000. Some of our clients have requested that."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Our strategy was to overestimate the complexity and cost. It turned out that Webroot's assurance was justified."
"I rate the product's pricing a three on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive. There are no costs in addition to the product's standard licensing fees."
"Work on a price tier plan."
"Webroot is less expensive than SentinelOne."
"Webroot Business Endpoint Protection is not too expensive. My licenses cost me between $300 and $400. It is really good price wise."
"We evaluate other options using multiple choices, best value, management and functionality."
"Its cost is not much per month. Our price is a couple of bucks a user."
"The pricing is high."
"The licensing is on a yearly basis and I believe our organization paid about $2,000/year. However, it's been a while since I looked at the pricing and we no longer use the solution."
"The solution is a little expensive. However, they can reduce the price for competition. There are different licensing models."
"Whether something is affordable or pricy, is relative. It depends on the value an institution has attached to a capability. For us, security is a premium requirement, I can't say a solution is pricey if we are able to afford it and run it for seven years, I would say it's affordable."
"On a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the solution's pricing a five out of ten."
"The product pricing for PCs is reasonable, but server security can be expensive."
"In terms of pricing, in comparison to products like Kaspersky, Trend Micro's price might appear higher. However, this elevated cost can be rationalized due to the extensive features and detection engines that Trend Micro provides. The price may be a challenge for countries with economic conditions like Sri Lanka. If there was reasonable pricing for Sri Lanka, it would be a plus point."
"The product is not very expensive."
"If I'm not mistaken, for three years, for 400 licenses, we paid nearly 15,000 euros. We don't have any additional costs that we have to pay on top of that."
