Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Auto-Remediation"
"The Webroot cloud console is very powerful."
"They have a lot of features integrated from way back, which shows that the product developers know exactly what they're doing."
"Low performance requirements."
"Speed"
"Doesn't consume resources or affect the computer performance at all."
"I like that Webroot is very lightweight. It didn't bog down the machine, and more importantly, it had heuristics artificial intelligence to some degree. It wasn't like full-blown artificial intelligence, but something where you have one endpoint recognizing issues because it maintains a cloud database. If one client recognizes a threat, it would add it to the database, and almost immediately, every agent in the world would also know about that threat. That was very appealing to us. However, now it's becoming commonplace, whereas ventures like Symantec and McAfee were based more on the traditional model of definition and updates, and we were always falling behind. Webroot also has pretty good technical support."
"It monitors traffic and keeps us from getting ransomware or other viruses."
"The solution has multiple modules within a single agent deployment."
"The solution gives users peace of mind that, form an endpoint perspective, they are protected once it is installed."
"What I like the most is the customer pricing because it's a great value."
"What I like about Trend Micro Smart Protection is that it detects unknown threats that are not visible on other platforms. It catches low-hanging threats, such as certain binary downloads, that aren't flagged by other tools."
"The stability is good and I like the level of performance I can get."
"The most valuable feature of the solution is its simplicity."
"The tool will query the information from the cloud to identify suspicious or malicious files that can be a threat. It will provide you with real-time updates on the latest and ongoing attacks and malware information."
"As a Japanese company, it doesn't have any restrictions on usage in our country."

Cons

"It doesn't do anything proactive. The virus has to hit the machine before it detects it."
"Webroot Business Endpoint Protection needs to improve its ability to detect threats."
"Technical support is not the best. It's hard to get a hold of them if we need help. It's something that definitely needs improvement."
"I'm not happy with Webroot Business Endpoint Protection, for only one reason. It seems that it slows down my interface when I'm doing programming in Microsoft Access, tremendously."
"Reporting system could be improved."
"It needs to improve the problems with the faster connection, and have a huge reduction in false positives."
"Webroot Business Endpoint Protection needs to improve its ability to detect threats."
"The console spins up relatively slowly, and some of the configuration items are obscure (e.g., reporting back one time per day is a default setting) and need to be tweaked."
"The solution needs to improve the deployment so it aligns with the latest Microsoft patches and upgrades. It makes the deployment process lengthy and painful."
"Trend Micro Smart Protection needs to improve its compliance features to cover more domains, such as BCIDSS rules. Enhancements in this area would enable quicker and more comprehensive compliance reporting."
"It could be faster in responding to new threats like ransomware."
"The solution could be more stable and secure."
"The only notable concern is the level of support in the particular region of Sri Lanka. Following events in the past two years, the quality of technical support has regrettably declined."
"There is room for improvement to make it better for customers."
"I want the tool to provide the solutions integrated within it to have regular updates. Currently, the solutions integrated with Smart Protection get updates from the cloud. I want to minimize the download from the cloud."
"The web filtering could be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The solution is very cost-effective."
"If you purchase for clients, then you are the managing billing entity. It's better to either get a monthly subscription check from your clients, or to prepay for the year (so as to not keep cash in reserve to pay the bill each month) IMHO."
"I rate the product's pricing a three on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive. There are no costs in addition to the product's standard licensing fees."
"I think the price is fairly reasonable. I was really prepared to pay more, but the price is fine."
"It is relatively cheap."
"Our strategy was to overestimate the complexity and cost. It turned out that Webroot's assurance was justified."
"Webroot Business Endpoint Protection is not too expensive. My licenses cost me between $300 and $400. It is really good price wise."
"The solution is pretty cheap, actually. At our level, which is at 2,500 endpoints, we're paying 87 cents an agent per month."
"The price of the solution should be less expensive."
"We pay for the solution on a yearly basis. We pay approximately 100 Euros a year per user. There are no additional fees above this."
"Instead of going for monthly or yearly licensing models, it is better to go ahead with three-year or five-year licensing models as it can be cheaper."
"If I'm not mistaken, for three years, for 400 licenses, we paid nearly 15,000 euros. We don't have any additional costs that we have to pay on top of that."
"Its price is fine. Price-wise, it is competitive with any other vendor."
"The price of Trend Micro Smart Protection is reasonable."
"The licensing is on a yearly basis and I believe our organization paid about $2,000/year. However, it's been a while since I looked at the pricing and we no longer use the solution."
"The tool's licensing costs are yearly."
