We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable feature of Nutanix Prism is the single location management. You can manage everything from one location HTML5 web interface which is highly intuitive. The solution is easy to use, you do not need to be an expert in storage.""It also does a good job when it comes to optimizing performance with machine learning and AI. It's able to identify the VMs that are constrained and not constrained, and which ones are "bully" or not. It gives you a recommendation based on your usage. It learns your user environment.""Resource monitoring is the most valuable feature.""Nutanix is a HCA product and includes VMware called Nutanix Express that has been fantastic for us. We have about 100 plus VMs without any trouble and we have VCDR.""The storage management is one of the best.""Prism provides us with insights and the ability to access all the sub-components of Nutanix's hyperconverged platform.""Since we began using Nutanix the performance for virtual desktops is much better.""Aside from ease of use, scalability is one of the key points of this solution."

"I have found that the reporting feature in Zabbix is most valuable. Additionally, the solution has given us bandwidth options, we are able to see where problems are. For example, we noticed a problem that occurred because of a bad interface going in the wireless VLAN.""Our customers also like that they don't have to use multiple modules. Micro Focus and major vendors typically require you to buy several modules and plugins. Our customers do not like that. We offer them a single product for all their monitoring needs.""The most valuable feature is service assurance.""It has improved our server performance monitoring overall. We know right away when there are problems. It has built-in statistics, so we can go back and see if there's spiking. We can check what's happening every day around the same time and check the configuration to see if there's something that's running and needs to be fixed.""The most valuable feature is the alert and alarm monitoring.""Every new asset placed in the environment can be automatically detected, predicting human failures.""There are lots of great features and functionality within the solution.""Zabbix is very easy to implement."

Cons
"The process of converting and importing virtual machines to the Nutanix environment is quite complicated.""The product currently fails to provide a complete view to customers.""No integration of commands to manage AHV.""Nutanix Prism could improve by having more features or configurations in the web interface. We should not have to use the command-line interface(CLI). For some clients using the CLI can be difficult.""Although this solution has very good analytics capabilities, it can be even more granular.""The stability has room for improvement.""Perhaps the interface can be more intuitive.""The price could be improved."

More Nutanix Prism Cons →

"Zabbix isn't a great tool for cloud-specific monitoring - its connection to public clouds needs to be improved. Other areas for improvement would be the lack of dashboards and integrations.""Zabbix isn't very good at automation just yet.""In terms of user-friendliness, large maps could be more interactive. We should be able to click on some areas and move some objects. It would make it simpler to see things while analyzing some dedicated parameters.""The integration of the product is not so easy, especially when it comes to the application database.""The GUI could be more intuitive. Also, we'd like streaming telemetry. Zabbix might have this feature, but I haven't seen it yet. It took us a long time to get started because the documentation isn't very descriptive. We had to go through various sources like YouTube and forums to get this solution working.""I had problems using Zabbix when working with SUSE Enterprise; many companies use SUSE.""I would like to see a more flexible mobile client, and better HA out of the box.""The event correlation could be better."

I have researched a quite a few network monitoring tools which can be used for various monitoring purposes of not only the servers, but the intermediate routers as well. There are majorly three types of these softwares. Ones which are completely open-source, you can do almost anything you want using these, but they require quite some expertise before you can use them. Then there are the ones that are not open source, the enterprise softwares and cost you some money, but on the other hand, they are extremely easy to set-up and learn. You can have them up and running in a matter of minutes. And then there are those which are completely cloud based. They can be free of cost or charge some money depending on the software. The good thing about these is that you don’t have to install any extra software, and it can be managed completely online but then again these have limited features and you cannot exploit them to the full extent as you can do with the open-source and to some extent the enterprise software, so I won’t suggest you to use these, because these are generally not the complete solutions and require other support software to achieve the same. Below I have listed the outstanding pros and cons of the various Network analyzers that you can look into Nagios Pros: Nagios offers an extensive set of collector plug-ins that allows users to gather performance and availability data from a broad range of operating systems, including  Windows and Netware Nagios… Read more →
