Granular web controls have improved user-specific access and reduced security incidents
For the moment, the solution is going quite well, and I cannot think of anything specific we could improve at the moment.Perhaps in file control, the maximum size of the files that can be analyzed is a negative aspect or an improvement that I consider necessary in Netskope Next Gen Secure Web Gateway.

Monitors traffic effectively but struggles with integration challenges
I find that the technical support is mediocre, at least for the Middle East. I frequently face challenges when contacting OpenStack through the distribution channel. It should be more straightforward. I notice that customers work with partners, not directly with Symantec, relying on local company integrators for support. Symantec becomes the level two or level three support, which requires navigating through a supply chain that is quite extensive.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Netskope Next Gen Secure Web Gateway has positively impacted my organization by allowing us to have total control and visibility over which users access and which websites they visit."
"My advice for others looking into implementing the solution it is easy to use, and it is one of the best solutions on the market."
"Prevents data leakage and protects data."
"The solution is reliable and has high availability."
"The ROI is in the security I'm getting for my users, which is also beneficial for me."
"Overall, the product is nice, and I like the URL filtering, CASB, and other security stacks like threat prevention."
"The solution has some useful features, such as microservices. They have sandboxing that allows the prevention, encryption, and remote browser isolation."
"We can connect cloud apps and monitor them."
"In terms of most valuable features, I like the ICAP capability and URL filtering the most."
"Typically, Symantec is more or less like any other platform that performs proxy functions."
"We've tried other endpoint security solutions but this tool seems to be the best when specifically comparing the endpoint security features."
"It offers an easy initial setup."
"In terms of stability, it's fine, as we have never had downtime because availability is AWS' responsibility since it is hosted on their servers, so availability is not an issue."
"The most valuable features are the website blocking capability and SSL interception."
"I find the product to be very straightforward."
"Scalability is not really any major issue, it is quite scalable and if we need to do more deployments, we just add them."

Cons

"Netskope Next Gen Secure Web Gateway needs to integrate IoT, which can help to control devices."
"There is room for improvement in streamlining policies. So what happens is that when you apply a specific Netskope policy, you never know the kind of content it will automatically block, or it will allow."
"The solution could improve the features for Zero Trust Network Access. They should add more security components to that module."
"Perhaps in file control, the maximum size of the files that can be analyzed is a negative aspect or an improvement that I consider necessary in Netskope Next Gen Secure Web Gateway."
"I think the accuracy could be improved."
"Improvement in the solution is required in certain areas where the product does not provide access to its direct end users, who use the portal as an administrator."
"The solution lacks a good reporting feature."
"Netskope can only provide the high level related to threats."
"One of the problems with using Symantec is that it's widely known and the people who are making malware have designed to circumvent it."
"AI-driven security could be helpful, yet how effective it will be remains unclear."
"The major challenge is their support. The support from Broadcom is quite poor. It takes forever for them to get back to you, and when they get back to you, they ask you for so much information, which makes it more difficult. That's the only problem I have with Broadcom. This is one of the reasons why we are switching to another solution. Another reason for switching is that we have a plan to adopt solutions in the cloud so that we can offload the administration efforts to the vendor. In future releases, they can improve its reporting and the process for rules creation. They can also improve Broadcom on things such as security information and event management so that from my same platform, I can carry out functions and probably block websites. Such a feature would be nice. Currently, Broadcom is integrated with McAfee to block access to certain sites automatically. It would be nice if they can expand their integration to IBM Resilient Security Orchestration and Automation Response."
"The Credential ID part where you need to register it: Sometimes, it does not register a device, for some reason."
"The platform’s data center is not capable of managing most of the traffic."
"It's not user-friendly, and we end up making too many phone calls to get things fixed."
"The reports could be better."
"I think the worst thing that we're experiencing is very poor and inadequate technical support."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We pay a licensing fee of $10,000 on a yearly basis."
"The price is average. Because the license is user-based, you can increase it as per the user quantity."
"The license model is based on the number of users. You have the possibility to have 10,000 users if you wish."
"The solution's overall cost is cheaper than regular web security solutions."
"The product is cheap."
"There is an additional charge for advanced security features."
"Pricing and licensing is stunted and licensing is expensive. We have many customers who are now thinking about other solutions due to the cost."
"Symantec Secure Web Gateway is less expensive than one of its competitors."
