Excellent support, good functionality, and useful protection against online threats
I primarily use the solution for online protection. It protects us from malware and spam, among other threats. I can employ my own policies, for example, attached files and email, and I can apply security to them and analyze threats that may come in. I put together the best configurations to help…

Good at identifying threats, helpful sandboxing capabilities, and useful support
The solution is primarily used for email protection. However, it is not as good as EDR. It is good at handling privacy It's helped us when one of our senior managers got a fake email about getting a payment. The solution automatically flagged and notified us.  It's great for email protection.…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Microsoft EOP's most valuable feature is a shared mailbox."
"The threat management feature includes policies and alerts that are valuable."
"The initial setup was easy. The configuration process is very straightforward."
"Online Protection's most valuable feature is its admin interface."
"It provides security to both on-premises and Azure infrastructures."
"The most valuable feature of Microsoft Exchange Online Protection is the accidental release of information protection capabilities. Additionally, the solution is easy to use."
"It has a really nice web-based administration console."
"You can use the product to create special accounts."
"The most valuable feature of Proofpoint Email Protection is the dashboards and their visibility, easy configuration, and artificial intelligence. Additionally, the reports are very important and helpful."
"Its anti-phishing functionality is the most valuable. Certainly, the biggest problem I have is phishing."
"Proofpoint Email Protection is stable enough and does its job of virus, malware, and email scam detection. Setting it up is not too complicated."
"The solution's technical support is good. I rate the technical support a ten out of ten."
"URL scanning and online relay service are the most valuable features of Proofpoint Email Protection."
"The spam filter for email is good."
"I like all the features with Proofpoint, such as how it filters the spam and marketing mail, lost reality mail, blocks phishing attacks, blocks malicious attachments, and stops phishing links. Also it can defend against the business email compromise impersonation technique. It is a complete solution for all email attacks. It filters for the bad, malicious attachments. If there is any executable file, it can be deleted. It is a good, complete solution."
"The most valuable feature of Proofpoint Email Protection is the blocking capabilities, it blocks a lot of potential threats."

Cons

"I would like to get reports about vulnerable connections from our clients with information about domains, public IPs, etc. That would be highly useful."
"It doesn't protect against everything. We do need protection for, for example, endpoints."
"Our company faces difficulty with Microsoft Exchange Online Protection (EOP) because it's too big, clunky, and difficult for a small client to implement quickly and easily."
"The tool's classification for bulk email is cumbersome."
"Online Protection has an issue in that it doesn't provide an option to stop impersonation."
"The licensing can be on the expensive side, especially in the cloud space."
"The solution must improve the user experience."
"If a company wants to put in line back-to-back anti-spam solutions, they need to work on that part because Microsoft recommends either you use EOP as a front line or you don't use it."
"The flexibility of the solution can be improved."
"The high cost of the product is an area of concern where improvements are required."
"The stability and UI are the two areas of the solution with certain shortcomings that need improvement."
"It has too many screens. It is kind of a conglomeration of products. In other words, they built product A, product B, and product C, and they are yet to integrate them into a single administrative console. I would certainly like to see a more seamless administrative interface. I would also like to see them include more bang for the buck, by including features like email fraud protection, rather than making their product so piecemeal, where you are buying little pieces. I agree with the idea of having multiple tiers or layers, but maybe as small, medium, and large, as opposed to an a la carte menu."
"Proofpoint Email Protection could improve the Mail Trace feature and make navigation easier."
"The incident reporting on offer needs to be improved. It's lacking right now. It should be on the platform somewhere."
"Proofpoint Email Protection has a new approach to email security with its API feature. Currently, it only works with Office 365. In the future, it would be beneficial if it also works with Gmail, as Check Point is currently the only brand that has API email security for Gmail. It would be beneficial if Proofpoint Email Protection could add this integration, they would be more competitive with other vendors."
"Integration and filtering out who you want and don't want to have integrated ID could be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Regarding the price, it's comparable to other service providers. We've also looked at Check Point's offerings, and the pricing doesn't seem to be an issue."
"The price of Microsoft Exchange Online Protection is reasonable."
"The tool's pricing is excellent."
"The solution is priced high and could be less expensive compared to other solutions."
"Apart from the license fee for the solution, there are no additional costs."
"Online Protection is fairly expensive."
"It is a low-price solution."
"The product is bundled with Microsoft 365."
"The solution charges per user per month to use it. There are not any additional fees in addition to the standard living fees."
"Annually, it costs us about $92,000. This is pretty much what it costs us. There is no additional cost."
"Proofpoint Email Protection has comparable pricing."
"The licensing is basically $8/user."
"The solution is expensive."
"The licensing cost of Proofpoint Email Protection is a lot higher than other solutions, such as Barracuda."
"Clients pay for an annual subscription of Proofpoint Email Protection. Every client always finds it expensive."
"I rate the price of Proofpoint Email Protection a four out of five."
