Identity protection has strengthened daily access control and improved passwordless security
The best features of Microsoft Entra ID Protection include the password dictionary, which we do not have in Active Directory. Conditional access is excellent because we can select the location from which users authenticate, and this is the best feature for me. Another valuable feature is the ability to identify critical or suspicious computers. If computers are too old or too suspicious, the system does not allow authentication, which is excellent. The effectiveness of automated remediation for handling identity threats is great. I use passwordless authentication with cellular phone authentication, which is excellent because we do not always need a password. Microsoft Entra ID Protection is a great solution overall because it improves security in the company through identity management. It improves integration with other solutions such as Google, Gmail, Hotmail, Outlook, and Facebook. We can create different applications and integrate with different services.

Positive feedback highlights lightweight design and compatibility while suggesting more AI integration
I think Silverfort is actually a really good product. Silverfort helps identify blind spots in your identity and access management, covering areas that traditional systems don't, such as command line tools. It checks your Active Directory authentication and continues only if the check is okay, plus it works with older protocols such as NTLM, which is a significant advantage. The product is fairly new, but it's great; it's lightweight and agent-based, acting as a bridge between your Active Directory and any other application, with no impact on the applications. Silverfort is one of the few vendors that offers a free POC, and usually the customer ends up taking it, as they've lost very few deals in this manner. It's complementary to other tools you may have, whether they are TAM solutions such as Delinea or Xerox. Silverfort also has a lightweight adapter for domain controllers, and it finds gaps in security. Its capabilities are expanding regularly, with new features voted on every few months. For companies with large Active Directory implementations and zero staff, Silverfort provides instant results in identifying risks and blind spots. It also includes built-in virtual features, and while I don't know the exact pricing, it's not expensively priced, making it an attractive option.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Microsoft Entra ID Protection's features are suitable for all sizes of companies; it's a must-have product because traditionally Active Directory was used for identity and authentication on computers, and now with hybrid capabilities, every company of any size needs these features and tools."
"The reverse proxy feature provides additional security that is not available in other solutions."
"I find the most valuable feature to be conditional access."
"For me, automatization is most valuable."
"The protections for handling identity threats in Microsoft Entra ID Protection, such as the automated remediation, are working effectively."
"The valuable features of Entra ID Protection include providing me visibility of my entire estate, managing access, and having a level of control."
"These features ease the job of security analysts, providing a better vision of user activities and potential risks."
"The tool is simple and you can find a lot of tutorials, and videos on YouTube that can help you."
"Silverfort helps identify blind spots in your identity and access management, covering areas that traditional systems don't, such as command line tools."

Cons

"Microsoft has room for improvement in simplifying their integration with third-party solutions and making the licensing model more understandable."
"The platform's pricing and scalability need improvement."
"There is room for improvement in the ability for Entra ID Protection to inherit roles and configurations from whatever solution I am migrating from, so that these don't have to be built from the ground up during the implementation process."
"There is a lot of confusion around the user interface."
"Integrating some notifications, not necessarily all, but at least for important events or alerts, would be beneficial as it would function as a team solution or something similar."
"The product's initial setup phase is not easy."
"Identity labeling and sensitivity needs improvement to be comparable to Dell."
"The solution's sync should be faster since it can take about 30 minutes to two hours to complete a simple sync. The tool needs to sync instantly. It also needs to improve scalability, support, and stability."
"If Silverfort could integrate a gentle type of AI similar to Microsoft Copilot or enable workflow creation similar to Salesforce, it would further improve user navigation, even though the platform is already simple."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing is competitive in the SMA segment and runs $5-$6 per user."
"The price of Azure AD is not expensive."
"From one to ten, if one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the tool a seven out of ten."
"Azure Active Directory Identity Protection is not very expensive."
"The product cost is on the expensive side."
