Simplify and streamline complex business processes, and good integration capabilities but lacks predictive capabilities
An area of improvement could be around automation and predictability. However, I'm sure Microsoft is already thinking about incorporating AI co-pilot features, which should be coming soon. The end person who will be looking at the report is the CFO, and CFO isn't just interested in static reports but in predictive information. Ideally, SL could use data from ERP, and CRM to provide some level of prediction. CoPilot is plugged into Dynamics, it'll be a plus and even a huge selling point over other solutions that are there in the market because now we have a component of AI. We can also give you some level of prediction. Even if it starts with a 15% confidence level, a CFO will take that because it still allows them to increase their bets to a certain extent. So, that's something that I I will look forward to whenever Microsoft introduces it.

Has connected financial data across departments and improved future cash flow planning
I would like to improve the integration with other solutions, as I need everything integrated, like the HR module, purchase module, SCM, production, and engineering. Each and every module should be connected to the finance module, and I think Oracle provides the right solution. Also, SAP, IFS, or Microsoft Dynamics 365 offer some solutions, but I am not as happy with them as I am with Oracle. I believe that Oracle E-Business Suite could improve by transitioning from Java-based scripts in our system to a web-based environment. While Oracle already has JD Edwards available in web-based format, I think it needs to be smoother for optimization and presentation in the future. In comparison, IFS is fully web-based, and all applications are sufficiently good and user-friendly. We are developing and trying to improve to a web-based setup, but it is currently too costly.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"If I put myself in the customer's shoes, it's easier to use. Reporting would be a very valuable feature."
"The solution has many helpful features, the stability is very good, its performance is reliable, the solution is extremely useful for e-commerce companies, the compliance has been very useful, the solution is quite stable, the scalability is good, and it is pretty easy to set up."
"It's pretty easy to set up."
"The solution has provided a good return on investment by ensuring our financial and operational information is accurate and timely."
"Their great technical support is one of the most valuable features."
"Basically if somebody comes to me like a young millennial says, "Okay, should I learn APEX?" the short answer for me is, "Yes.""
"I love SLA because it gives me flexibility to do things that I need without involving development, for example, adding descriptions that I need for my Latin American business with just a couple of clicks without any development involvement."
"Oracle E-Business Suite is a very integrated application. My overall rating is nine out of ten."
"For large organizations like ours, its ability to handle our data volume with stability is, for us, a perfect match."
"When I put these aside, EBS saves time and increases the efficiency for the customers."
"It has improved our organization by enabling us to move from manual to automatic processes, meaning that our clients can focus on analysis instead of transactions and dealing with a lot of paperwork."
"It's out there in the market and the suite of products seem to cater really well to the business needs of our organization."

Cons

"The product's primary improvement area would be its batch processing system."
"An area of improvement could be around automation and predictability."
"The licensing of the solution should be adjusted; the policies aren't ideal and they should make it easier to understand because right now it's too confusing."
"It doesn't make any sense to communicate with Oracle about what changes should be made to the system."
"It requires training before you can easily use this product, so it should be easier to use."
"It would be nice to have more web services."
"Administration takes some effort. Administrating the technology stack is not so complex but application aware database administration and following the new methodologies like online patching can be a little complex and time consuming. Oracle should ease the administrators jobs and do some innovation on this administration area as well. Oracle Autonomous Database is Oracle's leading technology these days. Using a similar approach, application stack may become a little more self-managing."
"HRMS analyzers should be automatically updated to be the most recent because Oracle support always asks for the latest version of the analyzer output."
"One issue with the product is because it build on a lot of older technologies, there is a substantial technical debt in the system."
"It's more expensive than other options due to licensing costs and core-based hardware."
"Oracle licensing is very complex, and the pricing is too expensive."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The licensing costs were reasonable."
"If the value proposition is clear for the customer, they won't see it as an expensive solution. A solution becomes expensive when it doesn't do what it promises."
"I have found the solution overall to be expensive. There are additional fees on top of the standard license."
"Licensing and costing of Oracle EBS is very complex. We recommend to use a system integrator during the negotiation process since Oracle sales representatives sometime do not know the actual minimum requirements and may oversell the necessary licenses through ignorance."
"Pricing for Oracle E-Business Suite is seven out of ten. You must pay extra for maintenance and technical support, apart from standard license fees."
"Compared to other vendors like SAP or Microsoft, the prices for Oracle are reasonable, but they could always be lower."
"Whatever the products you use, you'll be paying a yearly maintenance price or a support price."
"USD $100,000 annually."
"It's quite expensive, even though they gave us a discount."
"We pay about $300 a year in order to license the solution."
