ManageEngine PAM360 is an easy-to-use solution with competitive pricing compared to brands like Delinea and CyberArk. It stands out for its straightforward deployment process, which helps enterprise organizations secure devices and manage access policies effectively. Additionally, the solution has significantly improved over the years, introducing more features to enhance security and efficiency.

Centralized privileged access has improved control and now supports secure vendor billing oversight
The transparent mode is a seamless approach when using it. We have some issues with it, but we are working on it to make it work for us. Managing remote access for privileged users with the secure remote access feature is both easy and hard depending on the scenario we face. We have some systems that are easy and take not even a minute to set up, while others take a bit longer. We are in the middle of integrating One Identity Safeguard with the IGA solution, Identity Manager. We have some A2A setups, but it is not optimal. We are using RPA for developers, not actually RPA accounts, but that is something we are working on. We are also using the service account password rotation on the asset to some degree, and we are exploring options there. For integrating One Identity Safeguard, figuring out how password rotation works is a bit difficult because we have to make custom integrations. After that, it was no problem really. For the A2A use, it is not as easy as using something like HashiCorp's password management tools. It is mostly for certain features in One Identity Safeguard that I would like some improvements. Some of the things you can do in entitlements, there is a lot you can do there, but not everything is optimal. You have to have duplicates of a lot of things to make it work the way you want.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We can use it remotely as well."
"ManageEngine PAM360 is an easy-to-use solution with competitive pricing compared to brands like Delinea and CyberArk."
"Our clients use this solution for the rotation of keys and passwords. It is a part of logs."
"PAM360 stands out due to its remote session recording capabilities, which allow us to track who accessed which server and identify any changes."
"Deployment is very quick, and only a one-time installation process is required for ManageEngine PAM360."
"PAM360 stands out due to its remote session recording capabilities, which allow us to track who accessed which server and identify any changes."
"Now that we're able to audit log and record what is being done, we can play back all the sessions to make sure no type of unattended usage of the privilege or elevated credentials were being used, and from securing the bank standpoint, it has helped tremendously."
"We use the solution’s “transparent mode” feature for privileged sessions; it is very easy because it is only a simple configuration for our users, we don't have to modify our network, we install it, configure it, and it works, so it is super easy, and the rollout for our users is seamless."
"I like Safeguard's snapshot feature that enables us to review the last time an application was opened and by whom. If there are any issues, we can look behind the scenes to see what has been done. We can suspend a user's access or close off a server."
"We were able to take an environment where we had several hosts managed by different people and consolidate that into a single, centrally managed solution."
"Being able to use a proxy server is an advantage."
"The monitoring system is very good."
"There are a lot of features, so it's going to sound funny, but one of the most simplistic features, the Favorites feature, is the one we like the best. You do a full run-through of configuration to check out a server and then you can save that whole configuration as a favorite. So the next time you go in, you click on the favorite that you configured and it automatically takes you to the end so you can check the server out that much faster. It saves a lot of time..."
"One Identity Safeguard positively impacts our organization by reducing the likelihood of breaches from privileged sprawl by removing shared admin passwords and enforcing control checkouts while also improving our investigation times and providing strong forensics from a centralized location."

Cons

"There could be improvement in latency and accessing resources for the product."
"PAM360's dashboard needs improvement for clearer presentations, similar to ManageEngine products like AD audit plus and Password Manager Plus, which offer a clearer picture."
"I would rate the scalability at five out of ten. It's average."
"It should have better documentation about how to install, work and configure."
"If you want a cost effective solution and very competitive pricing, you should go with this product."
"I don't see any features associated with multi-factor authentication in ManageEngine PAM360."
"PAM360's dashboard needs improvement for clearer presentations, similar to ManageEngine products like AD audit plus and Password Manager Plus, which offer a clearer picture."
"ManageEngine PAM360 could benefit from more automation activities and a user interface change."
"The automated change of the passwords, which is now integrated, could be improved to be more flexible regarding different systems."
"I would like to see an adjustment with more enterprise architecture. You can buy multiple appliances but you can not fully separate different functions, so scaling might be a bit more complicated."
"We have feature requests and would like to see the turnaround times on those features to be faster."
"One Identity Safeguard could be improved by simplifying the user interface and initial configuration process, especially for first-time users."
"Even though we have two nodes, there's no way to do an upgrade without taking everything completely offline. It would be nice if they could improve that."
"I find it complicated to implement HTTPS monitoring because the documentation is unclear."
"I rated One Identity Safeguard nine out of 10 because the stability and control could be better, as there are some problems with stability and errors when we use it."
"Some of our users find the functionality a bit complex, and it could be made more user-friendly."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The product is less expensive than one of its competitors."
"Though I don't have the exact numbers related to the cost of the solution, I can say that it costs somewhere around INR 7,00,000 for ten licenses."
"They have comparable pricing. All identity products are essentially priced in a similar way. It's a per-user base."
"The pricing depends on our perspective, our budget, and, of course, the competitors we are taking into account."
"Safeguard is cheaper than CyberArk."
"As compared to other products, it is reasonable, but the training sessions are too expensive."
"The pricing is about $80,000 per 100 servers. There are few elective costs."
"It is cheaper than CyberArk. Its price is fair."
"The full license is expensive but if you plan to use it in a big organization then it is the best option because it is more flexible."
"Its subscription cost is too much, and sometimes, it is very difficult to pitch the solution to the management for cost approval. If the cost is reduced a little bit, it would be easier. If its cost was less, many other organizations that currently cannot afford it would be able to use this technology. I'm sure many organizations around the globe are having issues with identity management, and it is a very difficult task for IT to manage privileged accounts."
