We performed a comparison between ManageEngine OpManager and vRealize Network Insight based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Network Monitoring Software solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."We can manage the entire system across the network and troubleshoot the pain points."
"The most valuable feature of ManageEngine OpManager makes it easy to monitor all the network alerts on the application."
"We have found the solution to be stable."
"We use the solution to monitor links. It also helps us to track servers and monitor logs."
"The most valuable feature is the monitoring alerts. The administrators are immediately notified and can do the required action immediately. This is the feature we value and use the most."
"It is easy to use and deploy."
"The solution is scalable."
"Device backups are smooth and managed centrally, with a nice dashboard, so you can quickly see the status."
"ManageEngine OpManager is user-friendly and easy to use. Additionally, useful for basic monitoring."
"It's user-friendly. It's similar to the GUI that most VMware products are moving to, and the consistency across those makes it easy to switch from one product to another. Also, the search bar at the top is plain text and it helps you, it guides you along with your search query, so that helps. The first day you're in there you can start building actual queries."
"The most valuable feature is the visualization. It's really handy to be able to classify network objects as with applications and see the interaction between them."
"The most valuable feature is being able to easily see the path that the VM traffic is taking, what ports are in use."
"As a troubleshooting tool, it's a level-3 troubleshooting-skills tool and it's very easy to use and very easy to find the information that you need."
"We can see everything going on in NSX and get a good picture of our environment."
"The solution is extremely intuitive and user-friendly. When you log in to the application you are presented with a dashboard that is very reasonable for an initial user, and you can then customize it to your specific needs. But for all the data that we've found, we've only had to go through two or three drill-downs to get into that information."
"It has enabled us to set up and do application discovery, as far as network traffic is concerned, and set up the appropriate rules that we need to make sure we're compliant with our security frameworks."
"It has really tightened down the security. That was something that we were lacking. It has also given us deep visibility into our network. We can really get down and see all of the traffic within the data center, between the VMs, between the applications, database servers, other application servers, web servers. We can identify everything that is communicating, and we can see it all on one product."
"The Wi-Fi side needs improvement."
"There are certain things that are not possible to do with Op Manager. It's a solution that still needs time to develop."
"This product is little bit slow sometimes. It may be that we need to change the configuration to improve performance."
"What I'd like ManageEngine OpManager to improve on is artificial intelligence. In particular, the machine learning feature should be integrated with the sensor flow. Doing this will give leverage, especially when you look at other products such as the Cisco DNA Center. When a switch goes down, I should be able to build on the correlation of other physical devices it's connected to so that I can integrate that with my CA CMDB. The ManageEngine OpManager team needs to draw a long-term roadmap where that feature becomes an integral part of the solution because right now, machine learning in ManageEngine OpManager is a long process. The solution doesn't have MLS search and I want to see ML being developed and applied for CA CMDB to greatly reduce the burden of tying everything. For example, if I have a data center switch that goes down now, I should know what server it's connected to, and when that switch goes down at twenty-four ports, I would get twenty-four alerts for different devices plugged in. I should be able to make a correlation that the major problem lies in the switch and not with the twenty-four elements connected to that switch. That is where machine learning should come into play and the ManageEngine OpManager AI should indicate "This is where the root of your problem is." It could be difficult, but this is a feature that should be improved or added to the solution."
"They should add more features to URL monitoring."
"The integration with various OEM products could be simplified."
"It would be great if there were some sort of artificial intelligence feature which would help us make improvements in the network once we find an issue, and do it automatically."
"The licensing for this solution is not straightforward and should be improved."
"The dashboard could include more features."
"The only issue we have is that the solution does not always capture the host names."
"If it had some kind of plugins with vSphere, more effective plugins with Horizon View or other VMWare products, if it had interconnectivity, I think it would be more effective than it is today."
"The solution is very much viewer centric and it would be nice if it would transcend just the virtual infrastructure."
"In a very general way, I would like to see an improvement in interoperability with third-party product, from other vendors."
"I want to see more in terms of microsegmentation. As of now, I can see the rules, but they are not in a readable format that I can convert to microsegmentation and can fit into NSX Manager."
"I would like to see more interoperability on the firewall and low balancer sides."
"I would like to see them expand the capabilities to infrastructure types other than just VMware."
"vRNI needs more remediation where it hooks into NSX."
