Has helped centrally manage users and assets while making operational tasks more efficient
The main drawback is there is less documentation available, both public documentation and partner-available documentation. The learning materials are very limited, and there is also a limitation of support SLA. It takes a huge amount of time to resolve certain issues when ManageEngine OpManager technical support gets involved. The expertise of support is limited. Reporting could be improved with more details. The content and richness can be improved on the reports. To make ManageEngine OpManager a better product, the first priority is improving the after-sales support and learning materials for local engineers and partners to enhance their capacities and expertise. The second priority is improving the product itself, including dashboards and reporting enrichment. Lastly, new feature adoption such as DLP or endpoint monitoring should be considered. Features that should be offered include DLP, Privileged User Access, data classification, and MDR. These are features that can be groomed around the MMS if properly configured.

Struggled with complex licensing and limited support but have gained unified cloud monitoring
We face certain challenges with monitoring website uptime for our business operations because we don't have that 24/7 monitoring, so that's what we are working with ManageEngine on, regarding how effectively we can use that. I may not be able to give that information on how ManageEngine Site24x7 can be improved, but I felt that the monitoring or the licensing terms, such as the advanced monitors or monitors, are not very user-friendly. I feel that because I don't know how exactly we can check what devices use which license and how we can control those things; that's not user-friendly. For example, if I have to look at what all devices are utilizing my advanced monitor license or what all devices are using my basic monitor license, then if I want to pull a report or validate them, I don't have an easy option; it's too complicated.

"One of the valuable features of this site is that it operates 24/7, monitoring my entire infrastructure, uptime, and related error issues."
"Site24x7 stands out. It is truly amazing."
"The deployment was not a challenge for us, because we are just trying to connect to the cloud instance; it's SaaS-based, so we just had to route all our traffic to that particular device."

Cons

"Also, every time I perform a version upgrade, something breaks."
"There are some concerns with the recording performance of ManageEngine OpManager. It does not offer accurate monitoring when compared to SolarWinds."
"Support is moderate and needs improvement, especially during weekends when technicians perform upgrades."
"ManageEngine OpManager could improve by adding network device control capabilities."
"However, it lacks strong local support."

"The only complaint I would state about the technical support by ManageEngine is we don't get them on call; it's only email support that we get."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price for ManageEngine OpManager is average."
"Pricing for ManageEngine OpManager depends on the number of nodes you onboard and whatever pricing is reflected on the ManageEngine portal which offers discounts from ten percent to fifteen percent. It purely depends on the sales volume and the negotiation. In my organization, there are about one thousand two hundred nodes which cost around $29,000 per year. There's no additional support fee or maintenance fee from ManageEngine OpManager. Pricing for the solution is highly competitive and I would rate it five out of five. ManageEngine OpManager is one of the most competitive options out there."
"As far as cost, it was around six hundred thousand rands ($40,500) for the year, for the renewals. That's the total cost for a four thousand node system including support and maintenance."
"I rate the tool's pricing an eight out of ten."
"We had perpetual licenses. The cost was around 36,000 for OPManager, and then you'd have the yearly maintenance fee of 2,000 or 3,000."
"The tool's licensing costs are yearly."
"ManageEngine OpManager is cheaper than SolarWinds."
"In terms of pricing, I would rate it a two out of five. It was expensive."
