Offers a wide range of features that work together to provide alerts and evaluate potential threats
There are certainly some weaknesses. In terms of the product itself, the main weakness lies in the need for highly skilled personnel to operate it effectively. This is why I prefer to use Managed Detection and Response. The problem is that there are millions of people worldwide who lack the necessary security skills and resources to manage security issues. It's a specific challenge for each company. If you don't have your own Security Operations Center (SOC) and lack the complete set of competencies and skills to manage the hardware, using Managed Detection and Response instead of Endpoint Detection and Response allows you to delegate the high-scale layer to experts who will handle a part of the job. Then, you only need to decide whether to rely on their advice or not, which requires fewer skills. Therefore, the main weakness lies in the inherent complexity of the solution. In future releases, I would like to see an eXDR layer for Kaspersky. It's something that is essential.

Provides better alerting on phishing activities and reduces our SOC team's workload
Their scanning analysis engines are quite good compared to other solutions. It scans for malware attacks and enables blocking. It immediately takes action by itself, from the Morphisec console. All the alerts are on the dashboard, which is quite simple and useful for us. You can easily check all the alerts that are being blocked or allowed, or whatever the action is. You can easily see that and you can take the necessary actions. You can add a PowerShell extension or any activities for blocking at your network level or for endpoints. You can easily do the configuration. We also use the Moving Target Defense feature. If you are using another endpoint protection and Morphisec is compatible with it, you will also have this second line of defense. If there is a Zero-day attack that is not blocked by your endpoint protection tool, it will be blocked by Morphisec. That is quite an important feature.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

"The solution is easy to use."
"The product is lightweight and does not slow down the PC. The malware and virus detection rate is also very good."
"EDR Optimum's best features are its dashboard, control of external media, and user-friendliness."
"Kaspersky EDR is constantly updated and can respond to any threat nearly in real-time. They work hard to produce all the updates on time."
"One of the most valuable features of Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response Optimum is its cloud console allows users to remotely isolate a single computer from a network in the event of an attack, enabling them to perform root cause analysis without disrupting the entire network. This is particularly useful for organizations that may not have expert resources for endpoint detection and response."
"The most beneficial aspect of Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response Optimum is its protection capabilities, followed by its device management capabilities. The ability to remotely install software is highly advantageous, making it a convenient and helpful feature."
"The initial setup was easy."
"I mostly like how they capture particular files and submit them to other files, and they have the solution console. And for example, we are using the one in for an application, like, on the RansomFree, if there are any vulnerabilities in patches coming, in the future, they fix these."
"The fact that Morphisec uses deterministic attack prevention that does not require human intervention has affected our security team's operations by making things much simpler. We don't have to really track down various alerts anymore, they've just stopped. At that point, we can go in and we can clean up whatever needs to be cleaned up. There are some things that Morphisec detects that we can't really remove, it's parts of Internet Explorer, but it's being blocked anyway. So we're happy with that."
"Morphisec also provides full visibility into security events for Microsoft Defender and Morphisec in one dashboard... in the single pane of glass provided by Morphisec, it's all right there at your fingertips: easy to access and easy to understand. And if you choose to go down further to know everything from the process to the hash behind it, you can."
"Morphisec Guard enables us to see at a glance whether our users have device control and disk encryption enabled properly. This is important because we are a global company operating with multiple entities. Previously, we didn't have that visibility. Now, we have visibility so we can pinpoint some locations where there are machines that are not really protected, offline, etc. It gives us visibility, which is good."
"It provides full visibility into security events and from both solutions in one dashboard. I'm not a big security guy, if I have a threat that looks like there's a problem, I will ask Morphisec to dissect it for me, and tell me what might be happening. Because it tends to be all hash codes, so I can tell what's going on. They've been pretty good with that."
"It also provides full visibility into security events from Microsoft Defender and Morphisec in one dashboard. We've always had that capability with Morphisec. The more recent version appears to do that even a little bit more natively and it's given us visibility that we didn't have otherwise."
"The simplicity of the solution, how easy it is to deploy and how small it is when deployed as an agent on a device, is probably the biggest aspect, given what it can do."
"The biggest feature is that it hides everything from your operating system that's running in-memory from anything to try to run against it. That's the most unique thing that's on the market. There's nothing else out there that's quite like that. That's a big selling point and why we went with it. It does exactly what the design does. If you can't find it, you can't execute against it."
"What's valuable is really the whole kit and caboodle of the Morphisec agent. What it does is genius, in a way, until the bad guys get wise to it. You set it up and then you watch the dashboard. There isn't really much tinkering."

"Support is an area for improvement. It should have faster response times."
"An area for improvement in Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response Optimum would be to provide the cloud console platform to all users, regardless of the number of licenses a company has purchased. For example, a company with 50 employees should have access to the cloud console platform even if they have only purchased a certain number of licenses for the solution."
"The solution can improve the uninstallation process. The removal of the agent can be difficult. The purpose is for security, but it requires a lot of time and sometimes a special tool."
"Security features could be improved."
"The solution needs to give more control to users on firewalls."
"I want the tool’s pricing to improve."
"In terms of the Pakistani market and talking from a salesperson's perspective, I'd suggest that Kaspersky introduce a bundle of Kaspersky EDR-Optimum or Kaspersky EDR-Expert along with its Business Select/Advance suite."
"The initial setup is a bit difficult."
"We have discovered some bugs in the new releases that they've had to fix, so I would like to see more testing and QA on their side before they release."
"From a company standpoint, a little more interaction with the customers throughout the year might be beneficial. I would like check-ins from the Morphisec account executives about any type of Morphisec news as well as a bit more interaction with customers throughout the year to know if anything new is coming out with Morphisec, e.g., what they are working on in regards to their development roadmap. We tend not to get that up until the time that we go for a yearly renewal. So, we end up talking to people from Morphisec once a year, but it is usually at renewal time."
"It might be a bit much to ask, but we are now beginning to use Morphisec Scout, which provides vulnerability information. At this time, it's recognizing vulnerabilities and reporting them to us, but it's not necessarily resolving them. There's still a separate manual process to resolve those vulnerabilities, primarily through upgrades. We have to do that outside of Morphisec. If Morphisec could somehow have that capability built into it, that would be very effective."
"Sometimes it generates false positive alerts. They need to continue working on that. They have provided solutions for it and have fixed issues with updated versions. The service is quite good but they need to work on it more so that there are no false positive alerts."
"Those are some of the features that I was looking for on my on-prem platform that they've already instituted in the cloud and that I'm sure will be instituting on their on-prem platform as well. Having to have an on-prem server required a lot of administration. Being able to push that to the cloud and have it managed up there for us is a real nice addition."
"In the Windows Defender integration, they have put in a report of computers that need Windows Defender updates. If those updates could be kicked off directly from the dashboard, instead of having to go to another system entirely, that would be good."
"The dashboard is the area that requires the most improvement. We have about, I would say 5,500 computers currently, and searching through all of those takes some time to filter. So as soon as you apply the filter, it takes a few seconds. It crunches, it thinks, and then it brings up the clients that match."
"It would be useful for them if they had some kind of network discovery. That kind of functionality I think would give IT administrators a little bit more confidence that they have 100 percent coverage, and it gives them something to audit against. Network discovery would be one area I would definitely suggest that they put some effort into."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response Optimum is affordability, even for companies with limited budgets, such as those in the Pakistani market. It is a subscription-based license."
"Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response Optimum is more affordable than the endpoint security product of Fortinet. Whether it's worth the money depends on your security strategy."
"The tool’s pricing is yearly. The solution’s pricing is expensive."
"The pricing is totally reasonable."
"Kaspersky gives a consolidated price with a good solution. If we choose something else, we need to add other options on our own."
"The price is good, not too high."
"The price of the solution is reasonable. It cost approximately €10,000 annually."
"I would rate the product's pricing a nine out of ten. You need to pay about 80,000 rupees yearly for the tool. There are no additional costs associated with the product."
"Our licensing is tied into our contract. Because we have a long-term contract, our pricing is a little bit lower. It is per year, so we don't get charged per endpoint, but we do have a cap. Our cap is 80 endpoints. If we were to go over 80, when we renewed our contract, which is not until three years are over. Then, they would reevaluate, and say, "Well, you have more than 80 devices active right now. This is going to be the price change." They know that we are installing and replacing computers, so the numbers will be all over the place depending on whether you archive or don't archive, which is the reason why we just have to keep up on that stuff."
"It is a little bit more expensive than other security products that we use, but it does provide us good protection. So, it is a trade-off."
"Licenses are per endpoint, and that's true for the cloud version as well. The only difference is that there is a little extra charge for the cloud version."
"It does not have multi-tenants. If South Africa wants to show only the machines that they have, they need their own cloud incidence. It is not possible to have that in a single cloud incidence with multiple tenants in it, instead you need to have multiple cloud incidences. Then, if you have that, it will be more expensive. However, they are going to change that, which is good."
"Compared to their competitors, the price of Morphisec is not that high. You can easily deploy it on a large-scale or small-scale network."
"We are still using a separate tool. I know for our 600 or I think we're actually licensed for up to 700 users, it runs me 23 or $24,000 a year. When you're talking to that many users plus servers being protected, that's well worth the investment for that dollar amount."
"It is an annual subscription basis per device. For the devices that we have in scope right now, it is about $25,000 a year."
"Morphisec is reasonably priced because our parent company's other subsidiaries use different products like CrowdStrike. CrowdStrike is four or five times more expensive than Morphisec. The competitive pricing saves us money in our overall security stack."
