Access lifecycle has been streamlined but connectors for non‑human identities still need improvement
We currently use IdentityIQ and do not have SailPoint Identity Security Cloud. We only have IdentityIQ on-premises. I do not have extensive experience with analytics, but I know that there are custom reports available to obtain information about data in SailPoint. I am not entirely familiar with analytics data. It is difficult to score because you have to compare with another product to assess it. We are satisfied with IdentityIQ. However, I understand that we will not have a choice but to move to a cloud solution in the future because SailPoint is not investing in new upgrades or evolution of IdentityIQ. My overall rating for this product is 7.

Experience with offsite backup enhances data integrity and reduces on-premise reliance
One of the features of Veritas Alta SaaS Protection that customers are looking for is immutability. This is the most important feature. With the cloud, Veritas Alta SaaS Protection is actually in the cloud, which means they have unlimited space to do their backups. They can expand on a need-to-need basis. The automated recovery feature of Veritas Alta SaaS Protection makes the recovery much easier, as opposed to earlier methods where we were using scripts to do the restore. Currently, it's automated so you just do a click. You select the feature in a graphical interface, making it easy to use even for a newbie.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Provisioning in multiple environments."
"Has a great certification module with intuitive options."
"The compliance features are the most valuable features."
"I find the built-in connectors, lifecycle management, certification, and recertification features to be the most valuable."
"Basically, how the entitlements are handled is very good; it's the complete lifecycle of entitlements, it offers a single source of truth, everything can be handled from one tier, and the interface is simple and very usable."
"It is simple and easy to implement."
"Simplified Access Governance and Life Cycle Management, easy to implement in comparison to other IAM tools."
"The governance features, such as certification and provisioning, are the most beneficial for enhancing security."
"I think the most important feature is the ability of SaaS Backup to cover all modules proposed by Office 365, because competing solutions don't cover the total scope."
"The solution's hardware appliance is very scalable and very useful."
"The most valuable feature is that it is simple to use."
"I would recommend this solution because it covers the total scope of Office 365."
"It offers general business continuity and disaster recovery for the industry."
"The solution is quite stable, and we haven't had any problems over the past five years of use."
"It excels in performance and delivery but they are quiet on the market."
"Some of the tool's best features include an enhanced dashboard and strong security features compared to native Veritas. Our environment is entirely automated."

Cons

"The UI is complex."
"The product’s cloud offering could be flexible."
"They should lower the price and technical support should be better."
"Some of the configuration options could be more automated, but this is a complex problem and I do not expect a simple solution."
"I think that the onboarding framework could be improved."
"When it comes to queries and analysis, I find the reporting module to be very low, very simple."
"Although it seems to be getting better, for each deployment it seems a new set of bugs appear. There has never been a deployment where we have not encountered a product bug."
"SailPoint IdentityIQ needs to improve its customization. It should also incorporate some standardized tools for implementation."
"Licensing has been a struggle. It went from bronze, silver to gold. Licensing needs more sophistication. It has features that are sold as separate add-ons."
"The backup reports and the dashboard need improvement."
"An area for improvement is the product's performance, especially how long it takes to do a job."
"The program is quite expensive and I am not impressed by their technical support."
"The usability of the solution isn't the best."
"The implementation could be improved. The server setup is very easy, but some specific client implementation, for example, Oracle or SQL servers, are a little bit complicated. they should offer a bit more assistance with the setup for these particular items."
"In the future, we would like to see support for virtualized machines."
"The go-between is a Veritas partner, so the customer support was not that good. The solution is fine except when there is a purchasing crisis where you have to remake the ecosystem. It causes a lot of issues. The support was a problem, but we're okay with it as long as we have someone to communicate with."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing is a little bit higher than other tools."
"The solution is not cheap."
"SailPoint IdentityIQ is too expensive for small and medium companies. It is an expensive product."
"The licensing fees are on a yearly basis."
"You do pay one price for the license but that price depends on what you choose to include as far as the optional modules go."
"It's all competitive. Initially, the prices look a bit higher, but once it gets into a competitive situation, they meet the market. I'd rate it an eight out of ten in terms of pricing. It tends to be more expensive, but it works."
"SailPoint IdentityIQ is highly-priced, and I rate it an eight out of ten for pricing."
"SailPoint is expensive compared to its competitors. It's one of the most expensive products, so I'd rate it as one out of five, cost-wise."
"The tool is expensive compared to Veeam."
"SaaS Backup isn't the most expensive solution."
"I would rate this solution's pricing as five out of five."
"The program is quite expensive."
"This solution is not cheap and not expensive but priced in the mid-range."
