Infrascale Backup & Disaster Recovery and NetApp Cloud Volumes ONTAP are two leading solutions in the backup and disaster recovery category. NetApp seems to have the upper hand due to its robust cloud integration and high availability features.
Features: Infrascale prioritizes simplicity and quick disaster recovery with multiple booting options, thanks to its Critical Server Insurance feature that supports diverse server infrastructures. Its interface is user-friendly and backup/restoration is efficient. NetApp excels in cloud integration, high availability, and offers features like SnapMirror, enhancing data management and recovery. Users find its unified management and storage efficiencies, such as deduplication and compression, beneficial.
Room for Improvement: Infrascale needs more flexible licensing, better geographic data distribution, and improved hardware logistics. Enhancing integration between on-premises and cloud management would also be beneficial. NetApp should improve cloud integration and simplify configuration navigation. Its support and licensing options regarding capacity and scaling also need addressing.
Ease of Deployment and Customer Service: Infrascale is mostly deployed in hybrid and on-premises environments and is known for strong support despite initial challenges. Users appreciate prompt issue responses. NetApp is utilized across various cloud configurations, with support noted for its responsiveness. However, initial setup is complex, though service is robust post-deployment.
Pricing and ROI: Infrascale offers competitive pricing for MSPs with flexible billing system integration and cost-effective cloud storage, delivering significant ROI. NetApp presents flexible pricing, notably for enterprise-scale deployments, available via AWS Marketplace. Although perceived as costly, it provides value with robust performance and features that ensure customer ROI.
Their average mean time to resolve open tickets is an hour.
The most valuable aspects of Infrascale’s support for my company are the turnaround time and the resolution time.
The right expertise, a timely response, and being able to get to the right person to help you resolve the problem are very important.
One person can manage hundreds and hundreds of endpoints without any issues.
I would rate the stability a ten out of ten.
There was a recent announcement in terms of moving Infrascale to the cloud, which makes it easier for the customer in terms of usability.
Many customers do not rely on just one cloud provider and want to work with multiple clouds.
When the product works, there is really nothing to fix, but they can allow different types of backups, such as differential or incremental backups.
My opinion is that support is generally very good. There are instances where they take longer to respond or resolve issues, especially when customers have urgent needs, but ultimately, resolution is achieved.
We recently renewed one of our agreements with them, and even though we were going to renew anyway, they added more margin in terms of a discount for us for renewing early.
To someone considering Infrascale but is concerned about the price, I would say that they should get Infrascale's service no matter what it costs because any downtime or any loss of data is substantially worse than any cost for backup.
The per-terabyte pricing is very competitive compared to the others.
What I like the most about it is that backups and restores are simple, straightforward, and clean.
Performing backup and recovery can be done very intuitively with the solution and the interface that is part of the solution.
