Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Excellent technical support.""The product's framework is good, it integrates well with API Connect, and the private cloud allows for use in any location.""We have control of the ESXi.""Our core banking process was monolithic. To address this, we transitioned to a microservices-based architecture. Leveraging Microsoft technologies, including Terminals version 23, we’ve revamped our banking operations. Not all services are microservices; some remain monolithic for simplicity. Containerization is pivotal, with OpenShift (based on Kubernetes and Docker) managing our microservices.""The most valuable attribute is the platform's ability to consistently deliver high reliability."

"It’s easy to maintain, as everything is handled by SAP.""SAP Cloud Platform's most valuable features are its exhaustiveness, scalability with minimum maintenance, and functionality.""The product is very stable.""The ability to build custom applications on the BTP platform, reducing customization on the SAP HANA system and improving performance and management.""SAP has provided very good support.""Scalability is one of the benefits that we have in using the product.""We primarily utilize SAP's ERP capabilities.""The maintenance part can be outsourced easily."

Cons
"lacking in multi-cloud management.""One issue with the solution is latency because there is lag time when we connect.""Auto-scaling and managing pod scaling in the microservices architecture, a core feature of IBM Cloud Private, can pose challenges, especially when dealing with larger volumes of traffic.""I've noticed that the satellite services layer requires some improvement compared to platforms like Azure or Microsoft. While it's in development, I believe the satellite layer has room for enhancement. Additionally, the DevOps layer could benefit from closer integrations, especially for using external applications like Jenkins.""The support and pricing need to improve."

"I want to see better pricing from the SAP Cloud Platform in the future. I also want more security and scalability from it.""The areas I think this solution should improve are monitoring and adapting.""We need to connect our ERP solution via the VPN. We need to make sure our ERP solutions aren't exposed to the outside world. Our teams really struggle with this.""The product's price is an area of concern where improvements are required.""One crucial aspect where SAP lags behind in flexibility is customization to suit specific business requirements. SAP needs to understand that customization is inevitable and should be more supportive of business-driven customization.""When they innovate too fast, they end up confusing their customers.""Planning features are limited to the finance module.""In person, when the development happens, we were told that it's flexible and customizable. However, sometimes, it's challenging to customize."
