We performed a comparison between IBM B2B Integrator and Oracle BI Applications based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Business-to-Business Middleware solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The most valuable features are the flexibility and the range of EDI standards that IBM Sterling can handle."
"B2B Integrator is multi-platform, so it can be integrated with Windows, Unix, or whatever, and it can work with almost all programming languages. It can also transfer a lot of data in a short time. For instance, a system I recently implemented exchanges about 20 million files a day."
"The technical support on offer through the portal is very helpful and responsive."
"It's highly stable, and the redundancy is amazing. B2B Integrator also has a high availability option to work in a cluster environment. You rarely have issues operating it because of the HA."
"B2B provides a secure communication channel."
"Very flexible product; it allows implementing different flows on the same infrastructure."
"I find the codeless communications, SFTP or FTP, valuable."
"It can scale horizontally as well as vertically as a cluster."
"Calculations are a little bit faster. It can do the on-the-run calculations much better than other reporting platforms. You don't need any other specific tool. You can use Microsoft Office to start doing things with these reports."
"The most valuable features are the reporting and the graphics."
"Patching or upgrading the product is a bit of a nightmare. It would be nice if they removed the installation manager port. We find it complicates upgrading and patching a great deal."
"There is no related transaction stored in the database because it's an OLTP application."
"The one thing that is lacking is easy visibility. It's hard to provide business users with a view into the statuses of their transactions."
"The mapping, visibility, deployment, and the dashboard could be improved and updated. The communication logs are very poor. They are not easily understood, and we need to navigate to many places for many reasons. You can't just pull the information; it's very tough."
"The dashboard is not integrated and should be bundled by the product vendor."
"The initial setup is complex."
"The reporting features could be better. right now, they are lacking a bit."
"They do not have a solid partner ecosystem, and they do not have a clear roadmap for down the line; they're missing that clear roadmap."
"The initial setup was difficult because not all the information was included in the implementation model."
"It is very cumbersome and slow for making any changes. It doesn't have that many visuals to show different graphs and charts. It should have more visuals. It also doesn't support HTML5, which is useful for interactive sessions and reporting with dashboard etc. We are phasing it out because we need a newer platform that provides us more flexibility and more designs. Our use case is just to get the utility type of monthly reports, and we need visuals, customizations, columns, and certain sections on the report to show performance and other things. They are not updating their BI Publisher product, which was known as XML Publisher before Oracle bought it. It could be because they don't have that many clients using it. We are using it because we have this solution for years."
