Though the tool reduces the internal hosting cost for businesses, it needs to provide more API integrations
I think it would be good and helpful if the solution provides access to other protocols besides AS2. Currently, the solution fails to provide users with additional protocol assistance and API integrations, so the aforementioned areas need to be considered for improvement. I wouldn't necessarily want to see any additional features included in the solution since it is already a robust product.

Experience with robust integrator reveals strong performance and potential for interface updates
Based on my experience and my clients' feedback, there are a few points IBM can improve for IBM B2B Integrator. One of these is the graphical user interface. For several years, IBM has been promising to renew this interface, which has an ancient, old aesthetic, though it contains many functionalities. Creating a new interface would incur a very high internal cost with no new profitability for IBM. This is one of the points where customers say it feels like working in the 1990s with this interface. Another significant issue is that the platform is not multi-tenant. It's not possible to have different tenants in the cloud. This creates problems when trying to create SaaS offers based on IBM B2B Integrator, as there is the possibility that some workflow for a customer can be visible to another one. Since it's not multi-tenant, it's running on the same tenant of the platform. This is the main issue that the platform has.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature of the solution is the ease of use it provides. Cleo Integration Cloud Platform is a straightforward and simple product."
"There are also different tabs where we can check the status of file transfers and business processes, and we can monitor adapters and services in the link."
"It is easy of use and it's easy to maintain. It's also faster to on-board partners."
"This solution allows for easy integration with heterogeneous applications."
"The main feature of IBM B2B Integrator is that it's the most complete integrator on the market— you can integrate every type of protocol, every type of custom layer, and every type of security level."
"It's highly stable, and the redundancy is amazing. B2B Integrator also has a high availability option to work in a cluster environment. You rarely have issues operating it because of the HA."
"It can scale horizontally as well as vertically as a cluster."
"Very flexible product; it allows implementing different flows on the same infrastructure."
"It uses VMs, allowing us to enable horizontal scaling."

Cons

"Currently, the solution fails to provide users with additional protocol assistance and API integrations, so the aforementioned areas need to be considered for improvement."
"When working on an elaborate rule, I end up creating it in notepad and then pasting it into the Extended Rule window, which is not convenient."
"It supports many of our use cases but falls short in some areas as technology evolves"
"API integration could be improved. The legacy system could be on the cloud."
"The initial setup is complex."
"The one thing that is lacking is easy visibility. It's hard to provide business users with a view into the statuses of their transactions."
"The tool requires you to write a lot of code in Java and XSLT, which makes development tough."
"The web interface of B2B is quite outdated and not particularly user-friendly."
"IBM B2B Integrator could improve the business process itself, there is no resignation of duties and in terms of the console should be changed in a way that is more user-friendly."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I learned that the product's price is reasonable based on the interactions I had with my company's purchase team."
"The price of IBM B2B Integrator is too high. However, IBM may be willing to give a discount if there are negotiations. If they see that there is a good opportunity for them they can provide a discount."
"The pricing is based on how many cores are used and the type of cores."
"The product costs more than 40K."
"The solution is priced at $20,000 to $30,000 per year with no extra costs."
"Licensing depends upon the package you opt for within the solution. The solution is a bit costly compared to the other integration tools in the market."
"We pay an annual fee based on the number of VPUs. It's fairly reasonable. We're in the middle of analyzing other products, and they're all pretty much in the same range."
