Automates processes efficiently with cost-effective scaling and robust customer support
Web scraping is quite good since it offers a lot of possibilities. Another important feature for me is its compatibility with MBI, the Power that is ISEQUADO Centers. I appreciate the ability to scale and increase the number of bots or studios without additional expense. Automate's non-reliance on additional orchestrators makes it quite cost-effective.

It has a lot of functionality, whatever we use, but a few things could be improved
Extracting tables from certain documents could be improved. The next product release should include a utility that provides HyperScience JSON output. It would be related to any application, like other platforms and include Power Apps. We need to impact their REST API, but we would need a connection bridge application. And the second feature would be HyperScience providing different outputs. At present, HyperScience only provides JSON output. If a business needs a different output, we must create the utility ourselves and provide that data to XML or something similar. But if HyperScience could do that, we would no longer need third-party apps.

Helped us identify areas where frontline staff aren't following standard procedures or using unexpected systems, giving us better insight into our end users' workflows
To analyze and make sense of the data generated by Kryon process discovery can be a lot of effort. It's not as automatic as some might think. It really depends on how many processes you have and how actively you use them. But the scalability aspect isn't necessarily about deployment or technical maintenance. It's really about how you analyze and gain insights from the data gathering. I'd rate the scalability a seven out of ten because the solution has been scaling well for a long time. It's very easy to deploy. But getting value out of it at scale can be a challenge, just like with any deployment. We use it mainly for process discovery. We actually proceed it from different teams. So, we have 15 licenses that we rotate with different people, actually through different teams. So, we do discovery for the online team; we gather the results after about two weeks to a month. We analyze those results, and then we deploy them again on the analytics team. We regularly deploy it to different teams. So, it's in constant use. It just runs on the systems through discovery mode most of the time.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We are still in the process of rolling it to production and tweaking it (our AD groups are a mess), but the improvements are priceless. Having users ID's created the same way every time without human error is the best part. We don't need to worry about why groups were not added, user rights not set to folders or missing a private folder being created, typos or just even knowing when things are done and logged."
"The best feature of Automate is its ease of use, which is a major selling point."
"The interface is simple, user-friendly, and very intuitive."
"Automate increases efficiency and eliminates errors during documentation and invoicing processes."
"The most valuable features of Fortra's Automate include its FTP functionality and file manipulation capabilities."
"It's very easy to use. That's a big selling point for it. It has got a drag-and-drop interface, so you can quickly deploy bots."
"I actually quite liked the no-coding functionality."
"Fortra's Automate has effectively replaced the workload of an entire employee, saving us significant time and money."
"Has algorithms that can detect a document template even if the image has a lot of distortions."
"One of the most valuable features of HyperScience is the user-training module. Whenever the extraction takes place, based on the way we have trained HyperScience, it would give us some success status or a certain confidence level. If the solution has processed something that it determined was not extracted correctly it will queue those items for manual review."
"What I liked more about HyperScience was the quality of the OCR it is a lot better compared to Google."
"It provides the best accuracy for handwritten forms, which is a struggle in the industry. You can take processes with a lot of manual work and streamline them through this tool."
"We have seen pretty good accuracy."
"I like that compared to other tools, HyperScience works best with handwritten documents."
"Valuable features include tools like IQ Bot and the ability to extract handwritten documents with 93-95 per cent accuracy."
"We are able to cope with our clients's demands. No matter how much volume they throw at us, we are able to get it done quickly."
"Kryon RPA is very stable - we've not had many disruptions, and the product is updated regularly."
"While we have only explored the simple use cases so far, Nintex RPA has good integration capabilities, such as working well with Gmail and Outlook to automate document handling and notifications."
"It's very seamless to interact with Excel files and web app pages."
"We took a very complex business area, and every activity in it which can be done automatically is being replaced by the robot instead of people working on it."
"The most valuable features for our organization are the automatic processes which save main power in the back office."
"Attended automation has diverted 34 percent of training calls to our tech support centers."
"Nintex RPA doesn't require much coding, and you can drag and drop the activities."

Cons

"The solution has a very weak knowledge base."
"They do not encrypt passwords, so this is an issue with HIPAA compliance."
"The OCR for Hebrew text needs to be improved."
"Regarding customer support, I face challenges sometimes. They're not always available, and you may need to wait for assistance, but overall their support is acceptable."
"We really need a free development environment for customers. Building and testing automation on production isn't ideal."
"While this solution is continually improving, as it is now, the user interface could use improvement when I compare it to a product like UiPath."
"Fortra's Automate is not as reliable as I would like it to be."
"I currently have three bugs open with them that I don't know if they are addressed in the new release."
"The solution lacks support for a greater range of languages."
"The product's usability could be better. The first pain point is that we're getting the output in a different format, and we were expecting a different timetable. The second point is that if you want better results, HyperScience says you have to configure a minimal PDF or a maximum of 400 PDFs. If you want results with 400 PDFs for what's written by these doctors, then you also configure the maximum of 400 templates for that. So, it's essentially a lack of support from HyperScience. In the next release, it would be better if failure scenarios were reduced. It would also help if they offered different formats, inputs or injections, and added different scenarios."
"HyperScience has less capability while working on unstructured forms. Unstructured forms are those where there is no standard structure and the information can be anywhere on the form. They need to develop this capability."
"No solution is perfect and there are several different scenarios that could be improved in HyperScience. One area is where there are multiple tables in the same form I have seen HyperScience struggle. There is some issue with supporting the extraction from multiple tables involved on the same form. If this could improve, it would be a big benefit."
"HyperScience could improve the unstructured data extraction feature."
"Extracting tables from certain documents could be improved."
"They could work on the price and make it a bit more reasonable."
"At first, we had problems with the object detection but in this latest release it has been better, and I think it keeps getting better."
"Nintex RPA is not suitable for PDF automation."
"We have found some difficulties regarding the integration with legacy systems where the screen has elements in the Hebrew language. The connection to Hebrew, right-to-left systems, is more challenging."
"It would be better to have [upgrades] done automatically, like an application on your smartphone. Or even if done manually, the upgrade should just be "next, next, next," and it's upgraded, rather than making it a project to upgrade."
"We would like to see having a little more specific documentation, or some of the examples be easier to find. One of the big things that we get directed to now is the Kryon Community page, but a lot of that wasn't in existence or publicized when we started doing our training and education. Now, we're stumbling through using it. For the majority of the time, we have either had to try and interpret what the instructions meant or do a service desk ticket."
"The only unstable part is Studio where you build this stuff. In our version, the 5.25. It has a memory leak. If you leave it open for too long, eventually it just freezes. Saving your work, closing, and opening it just once a day is all it takes. However, this is a bug that I have noticed about the stability of the actual tool."
"Kryon RPA's integration with other solutions could be more seamless."
"From our experience, the product is not suitable for end users."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"From a distributor's side, one of the biggest selling points is its price point. Without going into any numbers, compared to UiPath, Automation Anywhere, and Blue Prism, we're significantly cheaper. The main difference is that other competitors usually charge you per process. However, in Automate's case, it's priced per bot. So, a bot can run multiple processes at the same time, but you are only priced for a single bot."
"I'm only involved in running the product and maintaining the systems, so I can't speak to the cost."
"It comes with a package that costs approximately $20,000 USD per year."
"The pricing is quite reasonable. We can run the process with one bot. The limitation is at the server level because they have some resources, and sometimes that is enough. It isn't too expensive, so you can get a good return off of one, and you can also have a pack of five bots that is quite competitive."
"I like the way this solution is priced because you can buy a license, or you can buy the software outright."
"It has gone up in price. The price of Fortra's Automate has increased since we first started using it. It does a lot but also costs a lot. It was a lot more affordable before Fortra owned the software."
"Compared to other products, the pricing model for this solution is much more convenient, flexible, and adaptable to the Portuguese reality."
"I believe the price falls within a reasonable range, which significantly influenced our decision regarding the product. This aspect is crucial for any technological solution, especially in our country where enterprises might be hesitant to invest heavily in something untested or uncertain about its practicality and potential returns."
"I think HyperScience is cheaper when compared to other tools. They also have a lifetime licensing option."
"I don't have any idea about the licensing costs, but I know that there was a per-page charge. They had different models of pricing. One of them was based on the minimum number of pages, and we had a fixed price. So, the price model depends on the volume that is coming through HyperScience."
"The price is affordable."
"Can't beat the price... There are different pricing levels for every bot or unattended bot. You can buy however many you want. You'll need an additional virtual machine for it to work on."
"We have a yearly license. It's about $5,000 per year."
"Compared to its competitors, Kryon RPA's pricing is very competitive."
"For an unattended robot it's $6000 a month."
"We're paying in the neighborhood of about $66,000 a year. The cost is fairly similar to its competitors' costs. It might have been a little bit more reasonable than the others, and that cost was with Process Discovery in addition."
"The product has reasonable pricing."
"It is very cheap. I would rate the pricing a three out of ten, with ten being expensive."
