We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"FortiGate's web and URL filtering are unlike any other firewall I've used. The functionality of URL filtering in those solutions is problematic because everything is encrypted, and firewalls can't break that encryption protocol. Fortinet has an SSL proxy, so the encryption is done before the packet ever leaves the FortiGate. The URL filter is definitely one of the most helpful features.""Good anti-malware and web filtering features.""Overall security features and performance routing is good.""The response is very quick and they can visually resolve our problems in a short period.""FortiGate has a strong security topic which allows all of the Fortinet devices to communicate and share information which makes their security more powerful.""It's user-friendly and easy to operate.""We can use our devices to check all of the perimeters. It secures email websites.""Offers good security and filtering."

"The mapping features and traffic logging are good.""The security is good. It's as effective as anything else on the market.""The UI is quite good.""The solution's initial setup process is easy.""Huawei support is excellent. I rate it 10 out of 10.""I like that the initial setup is straighforward. It's also a scalable solution.""Huawei was able to assist us in the installation of their product. The installation was very fast.""I am impressed with the product's antivirus features, strong encryption, policy implementation and easier installation."

"The customization of firewall rules provides great value to our customers as it allows them to lock things up in the way that they desire. When it is used for internal access, with a VPN in place for remote workers, the firewalling services provided by Azure, such as the default services that can be turned on, are applied. However, the use of a software-based virtual firewall gives us greater flexibility in introducing security controls for customers who are publishing applications that are publicly accessible from the public cloud. This virtual firewall provides an additional layer of security and more extensive security control options to ensure the protection of our customers' valuable information and assets.""The product helps improve our security.""The security of this system is fantastic, including the IPS and IDS.""The solution has no additional charges and no restrictions on the number of users.""SonicWall NSV is easy to use, and you can use it to manage the logs easily.""We purchased the AGSS Bundle (Advanced Gateway Security Suite) for the security services, such as antivirus, intrusion prevention system, and anti-spyware botnet GUI.""One of the standout features of SonicWall is its simplicity in creating and managing rules."

Cons
"It's my understanding that more of the current generation features could be brought in. There could be more integration with EDRs, for example.""I would like to see more advanced developments of a wireless controller in the future.""Its filtering is sometimes too precise or strict. We sometimes have to bypass and authorize some of the sites, but they get blocked. We know that they are trusted sites, but they are blocked, and we don't know why.""Fortinet FortiGate needs to improve the protection, it did not prevent us from being attacked. Additionally, Fortinet FortiGate could provide more features for WAF devices. I should not have to purchase two solutions, it would be a benefit to combine these features into one solution.""They sometimes hide some features and if you want to enable them, you have to go in the CLI, enable the feature and configure it through the CLI. Customers, typically, like everything to be done by the GUI.""The support structure needs to be improved because every time we contact them, there is a delay in the response.""The room for improvement is about the global delivery time period. Usually I need to wait for almost one month to deliver it overseas. So if you can shorten the deliver time it'd be great.""I would like to see improvements made to the dashboard and UI, as well as to the reporting."

More Fortinet FortiGate Cons →

"Wi-Fi scanning and Wi-Fi analysis would be useful features to include in the future.""The user interface could be more user-friendly.""The solution could be cheaper.""The solution requires a more interactive dashboard. That would make it easier than playing with configurations the way we have to now.""The IPS feature must be improved.""The solution doesn't seem to be very mature. Our networking team says they are experiencing a lot of issues in the firewalls and some routers.""The tool does not have web functionality. It needs to also have high end firewalls.""The solution could be more secure and have better integration."

More Huawei NGFW Cons →

"An area that could be improved is the export and import settings functionality.""SonicWall NSV's SSL VPN could increase its number of users to 100-plus users.""There are limitations to bandwidth management.""I would like to see the reporting opened up and have several more opportunities for automatic reports.""We face some challenges when we upgrade the solution.""SonicWall NSV's initial setup is complicated and requires good knowledge.""It has been brought to our attention by a few customers that they are dissatisfied with the fact that our virtualized service is only offered as a subscription option on the cloud. However, it is worth noting that many other similar services are also offered through a subscription model on the cloud and not through perpetual licensing. It is unclear why these customers would have an issue with this subscription service when so many others are utilizing similar methods."

Pricing and Cost Advice
