A robust product that offers great flexibility
The initial setup process was neither easy nor difficult, as it is somewhere in the middle, but at times, it is difficult to make certain decisions. The availability of the product is high. The deployment model of the product is chosen depending on the requirements of the customers, but our company does sea consultancy to figure out what the advantages and disadvantages of both deployment models are. The discussions mostly led my company to opt for a hybrid cloud deployment model. It doesn't take more than two days to complete if the installation is only for a couple of systems, or else if there are multiple ways to decide, then the installation part depends on the rate type.

PureSystems, something old, something new, something from big blue
PART I For a certain generation of IBM faithful or followers the recently announced PureFlex and PureApplication systems might give a sense of DejaVu perhaps even causing some to wonder if they just woke up from a long Rip Van Winkle type nap. Yet for another generation who may not yet be future…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Over the last four years we had a 99.9% uptime."
"The user interface, reporting, and management are good, and we are quite happy with the performance."
"This solution is very simple to use."
"We use the solution for DDI."
"We find the deduplication and compression features to be most valuable, as well as that of the backup solution inside."
"Consolidation and duplications features."
"The flexibility is the most advantageous aspect of the solution; our system has a very big environment and, due to this, the replication and backup operation is not an easy task, yet we prefer HPE SimpliVity modules in our environment even when we have some different cases in operations."
"The tool's most valuable features are stability and scalability."
"The strengths of the system is how the Flex scales from a very powerful, next generation BladeCenter all the way up to an IaaS platform."

Cons

"Currently, we have problems with the HPE StoreOnce module in regards to the backup operations."
"Technical support hasn't seemed to be that simple or that easy."
"I think the MTG inside HP could be improved."
"The tool has shortcomings in its performance monitoring part."
"I would like to see better manageability and integration with third-party tools."
"The solution has a complicated front-end."
"HPE ConvergedSystem needs to improve its management. I would like the tool to add cloud management features so that the system can be accessed anywhere from the cloud."
"The interface is not fully integrated with the ESXi, which is something that could be improved."
"The FSM does not quite deliver in the areas it plays too. A fairly sluggish interface that is more complex and less streamlined than it perhaps could be, holds it back and deployment of certain functionality from the switches requires more user intervention than feels necessary."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"This is an expensive system and not every customer has the kind of budget to support it."
"This is an expensive solution."
"The tool's licensing costs are yearly."
"There are some extra costs in addition to the licensing costs for the yearly maintenance from professional third-party services."
"I rate the product price an eight and a half on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive."
"The pricing is competitive. Not a major problem. We have a subscription model."
"The pricing is sensitive."
"Pricing is good. We have not calculated what hyper-converged infrastructure has brought us but I think there has to be some lower cost for us, compared to the public cloud. Obviously, there would be a lower cost, probably by more than half."
