Adapting to changes is smooth with flexible storage options and responsive support
I can't use Google Chrome Enterprise for my bank site because it could be the bank site issue. Something is breaking on the logging page itself, so it could be a cookies issue. As long as it is working in Edge, I am content with that. Google account storage could use some improvements. They should have a better compression mechanism or increase the free data space to the next level; at least make it 30 or 40 GB. According to the current trend, increasing the free version is better so that people can sustain for some time before making a purchase. There could be more flexible options for pricing and license for Google Chrome Enterprise. Currently, there are maybe two, three, or four options, but there should be something lesser than one TB. Customers should be able to choose extra storage according to their needs, such as 50 GB on demand, rather than predefined sizes. There aren't many complaints about the Google Admin console; maybe some improvements, especially with the parent control part. Perhaps I didn't explore that much; that could be a reason.

Provides BTRFS file system, which allows you to take snapshots
I only use the tool for testing purposes on my team, but multiple people use it. We don't make a team effort to install the solution. When it comes to maintenance, we ask our company to buy SUSE Linux Enterprise. My team consists of 13 people. We are currently integrating the solution with Ansible to do some coding. Although not a full-fledged automation, we are integrating the solution with Ansible and executing a couple of playbooks connected to openSUSE Leap. I would recommend the solution to other users looking for an open-source solution. Overall, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution's most valuable feature is its browser, which offers good performance."
"The solution is easy to use."
"Google Chrome Enterprise is a stable solution with good performance."
"Chrome functions as a comprehensive solution due to its continuous self-evaluation and improvement. The evolution process has been significant, with a notable distance covered from its inception to the present. Notably, features like VPN support have been incorporated over time, enhancing the platform's capabilities. A distinctive feature is that users don't even need to know the Wi-Fi password; upon signing into the machine, internet connectivity is established immediately. Furthermore, the cloud storage system ensures data isn't stored locally, making it seamless for users to switch between machines. In summary, Google Chrome Enterprise is an excellent solution, particularly when there's a shortage of available manpower."
"We use the product to run applications and devices."
"Google Chrome Enterprise provides ease of management for users and regular updates."
"Google Sheets and Google Docs are the most valuable features of the solution."
"Google Chrome Enterprise helps to keep IT support and maintenance costs low, especially for smaller teams."
"Stable - it just runs without the necessity to reboot."
"The most valuable feature by far has been the virtualization capabilities of the operating system."
"The solution's most valuable feature is the BTRFS file system, which allows you to take snapshots."
"The solution is easy for me to use because the backend is derived from FreeBSD and this is something I have been using for over 20 years."
"The solution is very stable after it is configured. It is hard to have a panel slow, a problem, misconfiguration, or any kind of loss function."
"openSUSE Leap has helped me with using containers in Podman."

Cons

"Whenever I'm using the bank that is not properly working on Chrome Enterprise, I switch to Edge."
"They need to deal with their memory management."
"It's a bit bulky. If we have a laptop with basic configuration, it eats up a lot of RAM and slows down the system."
"The tool is not very user-friendly."
"Setting up anything resembling a shared inbox is still kind of a giant pain in the solution."
"The product's stability can be better."
"The solution could be made cheaper."
"Google Chrome Enterprise doesn't use AI in its solution."
"There is room for improvement in the console."
"I would like openSUSE Leap to have better link integration with Windows."
"Like most Linux-based operating systems, the biggest challenge Leap faces is the GUI."
"Somehow the change from OS12.x via 13.x to Leap was a bit bumpy and some old issues seemed to reappear."
"It would be helpful if we could easily switch from openSUSE Leap for testing to SUSE Linux Enterprise for production."
"In the future, the Active Directory could improve."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Pricing varies significantly based on different regions and specific requirements. The cost can differ for the Euro price as opposed to the Asia-specific price. Generally, the standard pricing falls within the range of twenty-five to thirty dollars per license. This payment can be structured on a monthly or yearly basis. Opting for the yearly payment plan often comes with an added discount, either directly from Google or through negotiations with your vendor."
"We are on a monthly subscription for this solution."
"Yearly payments are to be made towards the licensing costs of Google Chrome Enterprise. It is not an expensive solution. I rate the solution's pricing model a six out of ten. There is a need to pay an extra cost in addition to the solution's standard licensing fees."
"So all I can say is just for us since we just recently re-upped our three-year contract for Google Education Enterprise, whatever the name is for their highest level enterprise...I found the pricing to be pretty reasonable overall."
"The product price is very good in my opinion."
"Google Chrome Enterprise is a medium-priced solution."
"This is an open-source operating system that can be used free of charge."
"The cost of this solution was reasonable and it was within our budget."
"The solution is open-source."
"openSUSE Leap is an open-source solution that is free of cost."
