Setup is straightforward from a business user standpoint but MAQL needs to be easier.
Cloud connect Report generator MAQL needs to be easier Better row-level security for end-users I've used it for nine months, mainly for implementation and delivery to customers. No issues encountered. No issues encountered. When the source is big and/or the source is Netsuite there are…

Ease of developing dashboards and receiving strong technical support have enabled efficient data visualization
Introducing custom features, such as NLP-based reports, is not very good in Tableau. My MD has been asking us for a way to write in natural language to request reports that the system should generate, but that isn't very effective with Tableau. As a developer, I can develop an on-demand report in Python quite easily, but exposing a REST API on the Tableau platform is not a very easy task. AI enablement is an area for improvement for Tableau, and that is something they might have to work upon. I have heard that ThoughtSpot is quite better in this regard, but the cost of ThoughtSpot is much higher. ThoughtSpot has lots of natural language-based report generation features that Tableau lacks.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It's a good product for your end to end BI needs when its all on the cloud."
"The ability to connect multiple data sources, build data extracts, and display said data in an automated, graphical format is the key driving factor ensuring I continue using Tableau."
"Geo Spatial maps and Time Series animation with Storyboarding, and the easy to use interface, have really accelerated adoption."
"The solution has great features which nobody can beat, you can do a lot of customizations, such as use different dimensions and colorize them. Additionally, you can use the numeric values for the customization, which is an exceptional feature."
"The solution has a lot of customization when comparing to Microsoft BI."
"Great visualization tool!!! Connectivity to many different types of data sources."
"Tableau has improved my organization in a variety of ways, one of its uses being that of data analysis. A feature I have found most valuable is the ease of use and straightforwardness, in addition to the flexibility of Tableau."
"It's both intuitive and complex/deep."
"As an organization, we were able to bring in more people to use our platform because it was easy to use and helped business teams make quick decisions."

Cons

"When the source is big and/or the source is Netsuite there are issues."
"Tableau could be more intuitive. It has all the features, but it is difficult to find them."
"Tableau support could be improved."
"Implementation requires a technical background."
"They need to improve the icons and the filters, because they look too old, resembling Excel from 1997."
"It should have more integration with different tools and technologies. Its licensing cost should also be improved."
"It would like to see autosaving, embedded fonts and other options to improve the ease of dashboard layout."
"The tool's OpenAI integration was announced last year. However, it is late. Tableau is a good solution for end customers. However, there are some concerns regarding the stability and performance of its server architecture, including SaaS services. The server side appears unstable, and performance issues are noticeable, often accompanied by unclear error messages."
"The use of this service in the desktop version is annoying due to the constant updates which lead to reinstalling the application."
