Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Creating low-code agents has transformed policy queries and now saves employees hours daily
What I would like to see is an ease by which I can have different connectors set up. Right now I have to do a lot of back and forth in order to have these connectors enabled. Having them by default on the platform would be very helpful for me. Also, when developing custom actions, having a developer portal where users can track the log of how the requests are being sent to custom endpoints created would be helpful because right now I do not have anything of that nature. It is just a final response that I get and it becomes very difficult to keep track of what is happening in the backend. Also, the latency that the platform offers is a little high right now. What I have noticed is that on a particular query, the user has to wait a long time in order to get responses. If there is a way to reduce this time and improve performance by decreasing the time for responses, that would be very good. I believe that the latency offered is a little high right now. If I can get prompt responses quickly, then that would be a real user experience enhancement. Also, what I have noticed is the problem that developers face when creating custom actions in Glean Platform, where we are not able to keep track of what is happening in the backend. A logger of sorts would be very good so that I can maintain an idea of what is happening in the backend. If that issue is resolved, along with also the issue of having custom connectors available from the start rather than going to Glean Platform and having conversations about the thing, then it would be very good. If these issues are resolved, then it would be a strong 10 out of 10 from me. But as of now, it will be an 8 out of 10. Glean Platform is a very capable platform. It is good for indexing documents and reducing manual workflows by incorporating an element of AI in it. Business usage can be increased as well. The one caveat is if there are developers who are creating actions on Glean Platform, then I must keep an eye on the logging that I have for the platform because interacting with the backend systems becomes very difficult using Glean Platform. Also, what I have noticed is that it is a real challenge in terms of latency as some of the responses may take a little while to load. However, what I have noticed is that the responses are usually very accurate, and so it is a trade-off between speed and accuracy. This is what I would advise to someone who is looking at Glean Platform.

Automation has streamlined complex workflows and delivers faster, more reliable onboarding
I think IBM watsonx Orchestrate can be improved by implementing simpler configuration for complex workflows and providing more flexibility when building custom integrations with internal applications. The monitoring and debugging experience could also be more detailed, especially for understanding exactly where a multi-step workflow failed and why. Regarding needed improvements, the overall user experience is fairly intuitive, but some advanced configuration areas have a steep learning curve for new users. I would also like to see more detailed, real-world examples in the documentation, particularly for complex enterprise integrations, troubleshooting, and production deployment patterns. Better production monitoring and more detailed troubleshooting would make a noticeable difference. More ready-to-use enterprise integration patterns and clearer guidance for scaling complex workflows would also help teams adopt faster.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We have hundreds of cases a day. There were around two to three employees who were just moving a case from one state to another. This was a repetitive, tedious job, which was frustrating for the employees. It helps to have the bot doing this work now. We have immediately seen effects, so this is a good use for it."
"Several manual, repetitive, time-consuming processes were automated, giving back time to the process owner, and for most of them the process now follows a single standard with additional controls created."
"The most valuable thing about using this product is that we are able to use the time that we spent doing manual processing for other progressive purposes."
"This solution allows us to more fully automate our clients' specific tools."
"The technical support is very good. We are very happy with them."
"Before switching to the cloud version of Automation Anywhere, I worked with v10 and v10, so I appreciate the core functionality and the fact that it's a low-code solution. That is one of the key elements that differentiates Automation Anywhere from other platforms and one of the reasons we have been able to achieve success."
"Unattended use is its most valuable feature."
"The bot creation process is relatively simple."
"Glean Platform has positively impacted our organization, especially in terms of productivity for both us and our customers."
"Glean Platform has positively impacted my organization by speeding up a lot of repetitive tasks and making it easier for people outside of support to understand what kind of issues impact the support groups."
"Glean Platform offers excellent user interface design and integration capabilities with other platforms."
"The best features Glean Platform offers include the ability to create my own agents, for example, I created a self-service agent for my stakeholders, so rather than email me, I sent them a link to an agent where the agent asks them questions and drills down to exactly what they need, and then I get a qualified response from them."
"Productivity has really skyrocketed."
"The major impact that I have noticed is how business users are now being impacted and they are using the platform because they understand it easily."
"Life became so easy when we started using Glean Platform."
"When I searched for internal information spread across different systems, Glean Platform did centralize and retrieve that data for me effectively, giving me eighty percent accuracy."
"IBM watsonx Orchestrate helped my team move from building every AI workflow from scratch to using reusable agents, tools, and integrations; this meant APIs, authentication logic, knowledge sources, and business actions could be packaged once and then reused across multiple use cases instead of being built for each assistant."
"IBM watsonx Orchestrate has positively impacted my organization by providing ease of implementation, configuration, and integration, making it very easy and possibly beneficial for the team."
"Regarding IBM watsonx Orchestrate's AI capabilities, governance and security are extremely valuable and top of the industry."
"IBM watsonx Orchestrate has positively impacted my organization by providing a new optimized environment in which I could create much more powerful and complex agents, helping us create different opportunities and show demos at various events, allowing clients to see what we can do with the platform."
"IBM watsonx Orchestrate has positively impacted our organization by helping us with governance and security layers for AI agents."
"For one of our onboarding workflows, the overall turnaround time came down by roughly 30 to 40%, primarily by removing manual handoffs and follow-ups."
"For an organization that uses IBM, it is definitely a tool that integrates very well and clearly with the entire IBM suite, and beyond that it is also powerful because it integrates with all cloud providers without any problems."

Cons

"The initial setup for the program was not straightforward. It was definitely complex."
"The enterprise version is expensive for small businesses and individual users, which can pose a challenge."
"They should consider being more multi-platform."
"We would like to have more ease of use for the operations team."
"I have noticed that after the bots have been delivered to run in a production environment, there are issues in terms of quality and performance."
"Sometimes the tool is timing out, which would be a good thing to have resolved."
"Providing a desktop version rather than focusing on the cloud is essential. Only UiPath offers a studio environment for desktop application development."
"Since Automation Anywhere's Japan office was only recently opened, it seems the support has not been as good as support for other package applications."
"Glean Platform can implement more models. The NLP creation could be a little faster, and while debugging is amazing, the routing also needs to provide higher quality outputs sometimes rather than extensive searching."
"My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing is that the licenses were expensive, and it was hard to convince the company to adopt based on that."
"There are multiple ways in which Glean Platform can be improved."
"Also, the latency that the platform offers is a little high right now; what I have noticed is that on a particular query, the user has to wait a long time in order to get responses."
"My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing for Glean Platform reveals limited options, and I wish there was more customization available."
"I chose seven out of ten because if I could upload PDFs and have them analyzed, or have it integrate with my Gmail and help me go through my emails, that would be very useful, but I do not think it does that."
"Sometimes Glean Platform gets slowed down."
"In workflow agents, I would prefer that we do not use AI in every step and instead we have a toggle button or something which can configure whether AI should be used in this specific search field or not, or in this specific node or not, because currently it's using AI in all nodes which sometimes messes up the output."
"The monitoring and debugging experience could also be more detailed, especially for understanding exactly where a multi-step workflow failed and why."
"My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing for IBM watsonx Orchestrate reveals that it is expensive."
"Probably the documentation could be a bit lighter and maybe integrated with AI tools that allow immediate access to the answer."
"The customer support takes longer than is reasonable."
"The best things to improve about IBM watsonx Orchestrate are better debugging across multiple agent workflows."
"Better integration with other services can improve IBM watsonx Orchestrate."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Yearly, our licensing costs are about $90,000 to $100,000. There will be additional licensing costs when we add more Bot Runners to our infrastructure."
"The pricing strategy for us is one license for development. It is more complicated than that depending on the options you choose."
"The price of Automation Anywhere is a little higher than some of the competition, such as UiPath. However, depending on the use case and other factors we are able to receive some discounts."
"The current pricing for Automation Anywhere seems a little higher compared to competitors Power Automate or UiPath. Automation Anywhere is perceived as pricey due to the support model charges ranging from 20% to 30% based on the plans."
"More than 40 to 50 percent of the IT budget will be for the cost of automation projects in the coming years since these projects enhance operations add value."
"It is fantastic. It has been great. It is perfectly priced for the quality received. When paying for quality, that is exactly what you get."
"It is the most economically friendly and it provides you with a lot of functions."
"It's an ideal pricing model to customize the components based on everyone's needs."
