Simplifying log management by displaying detailed access information
The most valuable feature of Fortinet FortiAnalyzer is its ability to simplify and display logs clearly, providing details like which IPs are accessing the system, the destination, and the policies applied. This visualization and detail make managing logs more straightforward. In conjunction with our VMware setup, Fortinet FortiAnalyzer enhances organizational efficiency, meeting the standard log retention period for up to a year.

I've evaluated Splunk and IBM Q1 but LogLogic is the best choice for log management. SIEM functionality needs improvement.
If you are searching for log management solution, LogLogic is probably the best choice. The SIEM functionality is not at that level, and I suggest instead to choose another SIEM solution (eg: IBM Q1). In my experience, a good practice is to separate log management from SIEM in a way that they are two separate systems.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature of Fortinet FortiAnalyzer is its ability to report for several management tasks in a very short time."
"We are very satisfied with this program."
"Based on the logs of Fortinet FortiAnalyzer you can have it trigger actions. For example, if the log has a word or a sentence you specified it can send an alert or Syslog to an email address."
"The IBS (Intent Based Segmentation) and application web filtering are the most valuable aspects of the solution."
"The most valuable feature of FortiAnalyzer is its visibility, especially in network investigations."
"From my perspective, we need to see the traffic in a good way so we can know what has happened in our network. The analyzing tools and the monitoring tools and the logs are the important part in the network."
"Anyone who asks me about a Fortinet product, I'll give that person a thumbs-up."
"The traffic log information we receive from Fortinet FortiAnalyzer is valuable."
"Having logs in a central location helps with troubleshooting, forensic investigations, and legal investigations."
"If you are searching for log management solution, LogLogic is probably the best choice."

Cons

"Fortinet FortiAnalyzer could improve the user interface, and the experience of users receiving the reports and tracking could be better."
"It doesn't easily integrate with other solutions."
"FortiAnalyzer's price could be lower, but it is cheaper than competitors like Palo Alto, Forcepoint, or Sophos."
"If Fortinet could introduce some firewalling or maybe FortiAnalyzer on the cloud, that would be interesting because I've never seen it on a cloud."
"One of the main disadvantages is not having a direct link to the security policy when you see something in the log."
"They can include integration with devices, such as firewalls, endpoints, from other vendors."
"The only issue that I can see is with the cost. For example, if you buy support for one year, you are messed up next year. It's better to buy another gateway."
"Fortinet FortiAnalyzer needs to improve its pricing flexibility."
"Definitely SIEM – other vendors have gone a lot further in developing SIEM functionality and made a lot more in this area."
"Customer Service: On a scale of 1-5, 0. They say the right things but don't deliver when it counts."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We pay approximately $11,000 for a three-year license to use Fortinet FortiAnalyzer. When we compared the price of this solution to others it is not expensive. Palo Alto is a more expensive solution."
"Its worth spending on FortiAnalyzer if you have multiple firewalls in your network."
"The program is expensive."
"The solution is quite expensive"
