Protects against threats and helps with ransomeware but needs optimization for lower resource usage
We are using ESET products for our clients, especially for entry-level protection tools. The demand for these tools is primarily coming from our clients, and we sometimes propose them to our clients as well We install the product in a standard way as a product. The primary purpose is to protect…

Central console streamlines patch monitoring and device management effortlessly
WithSecure Elements Endpoint Protection ( /products/withsecure-elements-endpoint-protection-reviews ) is good and easy to set up. I provide an installation file for every client through my domain controller and GPO, and it works properly. We have faced no incidents with viruses or network breaches, and it's easy to monitor patches. I can use remote desktop from the central console. The solution also saves my time because, being the only one handling it, I can monitor all devices easily.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The pricing is good."
"The maintenance is easy."
"The solution is stable."
"The tool offers great detection. You need time only to setup the environment. After that, it is just plug-and-play to get the solution up and running. We can also control the PC remotely from the cloud and get all the information in one place."
"It hasn't crashed a single time, so it is stable in that sense."
"The performance of the solution is very good it does not impact my hardware and is user-friendly."
"The administration is its most valuable feature as I can see all versions in one place."
"The solution has a very good endpoint feature."
"Both incoming and outgoing traffic is protected."
"The most valuable features of WithSecure Elements Endpoint Protection are the clear useful portal and overall company protection."
"WithSecure Elements Endpoint Protection is good and easy to set up."
"F-Secure is useful for keeping user machines up-to-date by pushing out security and critical updates."
"The notifications and patch management features are valuable."
"We use the product for detecting network vulnerabilities and for software update purposes."
"On the cloud management page, the solution scales up very highly."
"There is a layer of security to prevent a malicious agent (malware) from interrupting or stopping services, deleting or modifying registry entries or even stopping the antivirus from acting, ensuring that there will be no interruption of protection."

Cons

"The solution’s console management and scalability should be improved."
"It seems to have some issues with updates. When you do updates, it sometimes requests for a reboot, and even when you do the reboot, it still says that you need to reboot. Currently, on my computer, it says that a new ESET Endpoint Antivirus has been installed, and I need to restart the computer for the changes to take effect, but I've already done that, and the same message is still there, which is a little annoying. It should have a feature similar to the Intercept X feature in Sophos."
"They could improve the solution by adding better ransomware features."
"A few times, we have had problems with downloading an agent. We had to try multiple times and multiple uploads."
"We have experienced some problems with the actualization of some endpoints. We then have to manually reinstall the version on these endpoints."
"The management of the solution isn't as clear as it could be. They could adjust that to make it a better product."
"They need to improve licensing for VMs. When ESET is uninstalled from a VM, the seat stays on the license management server. We have to manually delete the seat from that server because it doesn't know how to handle it. I contacted exclusive ESET support here in Croatia and they told me there is no solution for this yet."
"ESET should consider giving it application control."
"But the biggest one for us is patch management because this has been our top priority when looking at alternatives. Every solution needs to have patch management, if that's possible. It would cut costs on our side if that feature were included, so we don't need to pay for two separate pieces of software."
"Resource consumption is suboptimal and could be improved."
"I would like the part of Hash Analysis by external sources to be improved."
"The solution could improve by having more real-time responses. For example, when a license gets removed from a computer it does not update the records of the change. Additionally, when I installed Microsoft Windows Defender I was not able to send licenses through email to our tenants. The integration with other solutions could improve."
"One problem is that the solution takes too much RAM from the client."
"The program and cloud service management is in English. It's not a problem for me, however, it might be for users who don't speak English or use it regularly."
"There could be a dedicated security partner with essential knowledge."
"There is no technical support available in the Middle East."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The solution's license is moderately priced."
"It is subjective. I don't think it is expensive. If you can have 10 user licenses for less than $100, I don't think it is expensive."
"Customers buy the ESET Endpoint Security license for a year, two years, or 36 months."
"The price of ESET Endpoint Antivirus is fair compared to the performance of other solutions."
"This is not an expensive product."
"It is not expensive; the pricing model is fine."
"Pricing for ESET Endpoint Security could be lower because here in Hungary, it's expensive."
"I rate the product’s pricing a three out of ten. It is neither cheap nor expensive for our clients."
"If you purchase licenses in bulk the price of the licenses can decrease."
"The product has average pricing."
"The price is comparable."
"The cost of the solution depends on the size of the company and where the licenses are being ordered from."
"We pay a yearly licensing fee of about €20 per computer."
