We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The automation roles are essential because we ultimately want to do less work and automate more. The dashboards are easy to read and visually pleasing. You can understand things quickly, which makes it easy for our other teams. The network and infrastructure teams don't know as much about security as we do, so it helps to have a tool that's accessible and nice to look at.""With Wiz, we get timely alerts for leaked data or any vulnerabilities already existing in our environment.""The vulnerability management modules and the discovery and inventory are the most valuable features. Before using Wiz, it was a very manual process for both. After implementing it, we're able to get all of the analytics into a single platform that gives us visibility across all the systems in our cloud. We're able to correspond and understand what the vulnerability landscape looks like a lot faster.""The security baseline and vulnerability assessments is the valuable feature.""The product supports out-of-the-box reporting with context about the asset and allows us to perform complex custom queries on UI.""The solution is very user-friendly.""The CSPM module has been the most effective. It was easy to deploy and covered all our accounts through APIs, requiring no agents. Wiz provides instant visibility into high-level risks that we need to address.""Our most important features are those around entitlement, external exposure, vulnerabilities, and container security."

More Wiz Pros →

"The solution’s vulnerability management feature has helped us identify and mitigate risks well.""If you have multi-cloud tenancy using AWS and Azure, you can have a single dashboard where you can onboard all the cloud infrastructure and have visibility into it.""The product's visibility and remediation work fine for me.""The key benefit lies in having the largest and most up-to-date database. When it comes to using any Tenable product, it excels in finding vulnerabilities and providing analytics.""Ermetic can provide super visibility for our cloud environment (we are using AWS).""The tool alerts us on depreciating performance or deficiencies of our web application. It helps us react on time."

More Tenable Cloud Security Pros →

"We like the ability of the host security module to monitor the processes running on our servers to help us monitor activity.""Threat Stack has connectivity.""With Threat Stack, we quickly identified some AWS accounts which had services that would potentially be exposed and were able to remediate them prior to release of products.""It has been quite helpful to have the daily alerts coming to my email, as well as the Sev 1 Alerts... We just went through a SOX audit and those were pivotal.""An important feature of this solution is monitoring. Specifically, container monitoring.""We're using it on container to see when activity involving executables happens, and that's great.""The rules are really great. They give us more visibility and control over what's being triggered. There's a large set of rules that come out-of-the-box. We can customize them and we can create our own rules based on the traffic patterns that we see.""There has been a measurable decrease in the meantime to remediation... because we have so many different tech verticals already collated in one place, our ability to respond is drastically different than it used to be."

More Threat Stack Cloud Security Platform Pros →

Cons
"The only thing that needs to be improved is the number of scans per day.""The reporting isn't that great. They have executive summaries, but it's only a compliance report that maps all current issues to specific controls. Whether you look at one subscription or project, regardless of the size, you will get a multipage report on how the issues in that account map to that control. Our CSO isn't going to read through that. He won't filter that out or show that to his leadership and say, "Here's what we're doing." It isn't a helpful report. They're working on it, but it's a poor executive summary.""Wiz's reporting capabilities could be refined a bit. They are making headway on that, but more executive-style dashboards would be nice. They just implemented a community aspect where you can share documents and feedback. This was something users had been requesting for a while. They are listening to customer feedback and making changes.""One significant issue is that the searches are case-sensitive, so finding a misconfigured resource can become very challenging.""Given the level of visibility into all the cloud environments Wiz provides, it would be nice if they could integrate some kind of mechanism to better manage tenants on multiple platforms. For example, let's say that some servers don't have an application they need, such as an antivirus. Wiz could include an API or something to push those applications out to the servers. It would be great if you could remedy these issues directly from the Wiz platform.""We would like to see improvements to executive-level reporting and data reporting in general, which we understand is being rolled out to the platform.""The remediation workflow within the Wiz could be improved.""The solution's container security could be improved."

More Wiz Cons →

"Ermetic needs to improve its security scanning. I would like to see more dynamic graphical forms.""There is a need for the support team to improve their response time since it is one of the areas where the product's technical team has certain shortcomings.""I didn't find anything that wasn't useful or needed to be added.""The product must provide more features.""If Tenable Cloud Security offers a complete Cnapp solution with CWP, CIEM, and Waap security, it will be able to compete with other competitors.""I do think there might be room for more integrations. This could allow for further customization and flexibility, essentially offering different functionality options to accommodate various budgets."

More Tenable Cloud Security Cons →

"They could give a few more insights into security groups and recommendations on how to be more effective. That's getting more into the AWS environment, specifically. I'm not sure if that's Threat Stack's plan or not, but I would like them to help us be efficient about how we're setting up security groups. They could recommend separation of VPCs and the like - really dig into our architecture. I haven't seen a whole lot of that and I think that's something that, right off the bat, could have made us smarter.""The compliance and governance need improvement.""The API - which has grown quite a bit, so we're still learning it and I can't say whether it still needs improvement - was an area that had been needing it.""The reports aren't very good. We've automated the report generation via the API and replaced almost all the reports that they generate for us using API calls instead.""The solution’s ability to consume alerts and data in third-party tools (via APIs and export into S3 buckets) is moderate. They have some work to do in that area... The API does not mimic the features of the UI as far as reporting and pulling data out go. There's a big discrepancy there.""Some features do not work as expected.""It shoots back a lot of alerts.""The user interface can be a little bit clunky at times... There's a lot of information that needs to be waded through, and the UI just isn't great."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The pricing seems pretty simple. We don't have to do a lot of calculations to figure out what the components are. They do it by enabling specific features, either basics or advanced, which makes it easy to select."
  • "The pricing is fair. Some of the more advanced features and functionalities and how the tiers are split can be somewhat confusing."
  • "The pricing is fair and comparable to their competitors. The cost seems to be going up, which is a concern. There are potential savings from consolidating tools, but we're uncertain how Wiz's pricing will change over time."
  • "I wish the pricing was more transparent."
  • "The cost of the other solutions is comparable to Wiz."
  • "Wiz is a moderately priced solution, where it is neither cheap nor costly."
  • More Wiz Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "The tool's pricing is fair."
  • "There is a need to opt for a subscription-based pricing model to use Tenable Cloud Security. I rate the product price an eight on a scale of one to ten, where one is low price and ten is high price."
  • More Tenable Cloud Security Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "It is a cost-effective choice versus other solutions on the market."
  • "Pricing seems to be in line with the market structure. It's fine."
  • "It is very expensive compared to some other products. The pricing is definitely high."
  • "I'm happy with the amount that we spend for the product that we get and the overall service that we get. It's not cheap, but I'm still happy with the spend."
  • "We find the licensing and pricing very easy to understand and a good value for the services provided."
  • "It came in cheaper than Trend Micro when we purchased it a few years ago."
  • "What we're paying now is somewhere around $15 to $20 per agent per month, if I recall correctly. The other cost we have is SecOps."

Skyler C., Software Development Manager at Rent Dynamics, says, “The most valuable feature is the SecOps because they have our back and they help us with the reports. Their SecOps program is absolutely amazing when you do not have a dedicated resource for security.”
