We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The features that we like the most are the developer interface and the ability to quickly develop and deploy tests.""DAI's newest release allows us to test via scripts rather than models, because we have done 95 percent of our development in functional, not through modeling. I am really happy that then we can use the controller to run scripts rather than having to translate things to models. There are lots of options.""It provides very strong cross-platform support.""The main feature of Eggplant Test is that it can do fully automated web testing and app testing.""The most valuable features of Eggplant Digital Automation Intelligence are bug hunting and OCR technology.""It is easy to set up.""Everything is happening on the layout or display that is used by the user. Eggplant prompts processes, like 'click here,' or 'look for this image.' Eggplant makes it possible for QA people and BAs, working in the actual display, to check if the software is providing the right images, the right text, and the right results. They don't have to go inside the code or to the TCP/IP layer. Everything is happening at the highest level.""Good text reading ability."

"In case something goes wrong at LambdaTest end, the Support team is extremely responsive to analyze any platform-related issues.""The most valuable features are that it's essentially on-demand, and you only focus on getting the code that needs to be executed without having to worry about the OS, hardware, etc.""Stability-wise, I have not experienced any downtime or other performance issues.""The Docker tunnel integration for local testing can be extremely useful to run on multiple instances in parallel.""LambdaTest easily integrates with leading project management, bug tracking, and CI-CD tools like Jira, Asana, Jenkins, Circle CI, and more.""The real devices feature is the most valuable feature for us.""This product offers out-of-the-box geolocation testing in automation, which is amazing!""LambdaTest offers geolocation testing in automation, which is amazing!"

Cons
"Eggplant Digital Automation Intelligence could improve by lowering the price.""In terms of additional features, it would be helpful to have one package for all testing. You have the manager, the AI, then you have functional, and about 10 different packages for installing.""The IDE could be even more full-featured. Because I was a developer, I was very spoiled by either Visual Studio Code or Visual Studio for shortcuts. For example, I was able to say "ctor" and hit Tab and it would create a template of a constructor for me... It would be great, when I want to create a new function, if there were shortcut commands like those that helped create all of the functions, or if there were shortcut features to do any of the complex plans.""The language is too specific; it is just for Eggplant.""A step forward would be to have event support, because it is more or less linear at the moment.""I would like to see standardized actions already built into Eggplant. For example, "wait eight seconds". That way, I wouldn't need to create it as an action. Right now, I have to program that wait and describe it as an action so that everybody knows it is an action that waits eight seconds... That way, somebody who is not familiar with programming processes like "if-else", or "for", or "while", would be able, from the first moment, and without programming, to put some easy-to-use, standardized, actions in place.""Eggplant Test should emphasize on improving its offering in non-Windows environments.""They need to update the Linux. I think it's kind of an outdated Java Swing application."

More Eggplant Test Cons →

"If possible to simulate the finger pinch, it would make it more realistic.""Mobile application testing would be helpful for us.""Improvements on a platform need to happen on a timely basis...There should be some new features coming up or some performance improvisation over a period of time.""Load flow compared to other stacks needs improvement.""I would like to see all of the features available in the freemium plan so that I can test them.""I think Lambdatest is a valuable tool for our team and things that have room for improvement would be mobile app testing, as it can be an important addition to the tool.""LambdaTest needs to have native application testing, which would be a great help to my team.""Mobile application testing will be an added benefit for us if LambdaTest implements this really soon."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "It is scalable, but it is a matter of money in the pocket. You can scale it, but then you have to have additional licenses. The licensing approach of eggPlant is not the best."
  • "Make a smart decision about the number of developer- and execution-only licenses you purchase to maximize your budget. We found that going heavier on execution-only licenses has been a way to reduce our costs and maximize our ability to benefit from the software."
  • "End-to-end testing isn't possible for us because of the licensing problems. It's very expensive, so we only have two development/execution licenses."
  • "It probably has a yearly license."
  • "This solution is expensive when compared to the market. However, the reason it is more expensive is because of its stability, high performance, and for its support of any technology."
  • "Eggplant Test is a very expensive solution."

  • "The pricing for LambdaTest is affordable, and one of the reasons we implemented it."
  • "It is affordable as compared to similar SaaS solutions."
  • "LambdaTest is priced well, which is why we migrated to it."
  • "It is free to start, which means you can actually see how it works and then take the decision to buy."
