Regarding integration with various development tools, I can provide examples, and I am using customizable dashboards in OpenText ALM _ Quality Center, which definitely help identify project bottlenecks. As for the scalability of OpenText ALM _ Quality Center, there are limitations, particularly in agile methodologies, which is currently my main concern.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It can generate reports showing a burndown chart, burnup chart, and the planned vs actual velocity."
"For visualization capabilities, the automation capabilities make it possible to support the different personas. The features and capabilities are excellent and come with excellent support."
"Digital.ai Agility helped our organization define the Enterprise Value Streams, and in the tool you can derive all user stories, features, and epics from the top-level portfolio items and value streams so any work that is done must contribute to the value streams, otherwise it should be questioned why that effort is being executed."
"It allows my clients to have one central tool to manage their agile projects."
"With some of the other tools, you have to buy 20 different plugins to get to the same capability that comes with the basic Agility capability."
"Agility is highly flexible. It can do much more than what our client is doing with it. They use it in a defined way. Some at that company have a much broader knowledge of agile and SAFe, but they're given applications and a mandated way to work. We had to work within their parameters and provide an accurate transition so the data would be mapped and pushed through."
"The solution is excellent for collaboration; from the agility point of view, they have very good sprint functionality, allowing you to set up sprints effectively."
"I prefer Agility out of the three applications we work with because it has the most flexibility and can work at a higher level."
"Allows us to do defect resolution from logging to resolution."
"It provides us with common development and test workflow for defect management."
"All types of data can be seen in one place."
"Customization is the most valuable feature."
"It gives me the ease of putting together the requirements, test cases, the release test schedules, and executing the test."
"It has basic and advanced facilities that allow you to arrange all of your test data in very well arranged, systematic manner."
"Within thirty days the defect resolution time was reduced to 3.1 days and averaged 1.1 days over the next eighteen (18) months."
"The most valuable feature is the ST Add-In. It's a Microsoft add-in that makes it much easier to upload test cases into Quality Center."

Cons

"In my work as a contractor, it's always frustrating when a client has multiple software applications that don't talk to each other and they all perform the same function."
"The response from Digital.ai Agility is a little bit slow and could be faster."
"Improve how to create and track releases. Currently, I have to create child projects."
"The user interface can be improved by adding Save, Edit, Add, Cancel, and Return buttons to the popup windows that are displayed when you click on a child item."
"It was not supporting some plugins. We wanted to migrate data that we were already using."
"There is room for improvement in getting the analytics portion of the solution more integrated with the rest of it."
"The user interface can be improved by adding Save button to the popup windows that are displayed when you click on a child item."
"The machine learning features are a new capability but could be improved. This is being worked by Digital.ai currently. Multicolor simulation, specifically, could be improved."
"There are always new features and more support for new and legacy technology architectures with each release. But the bad news is a growing list of long-standing issues with the product rarely gets addressed."
"In terms of places for improvement, Micro Focus is an expensive tool. We see nowadays that there are other products coming, and Micro Focus is more expensive and there are lots of license costs."
"Upgrades are a nightmare and documentation is difficult to understand."
"I'd like to see the idea of users being flushed out more, so not just, "This defect is now assigned to a particular person," or "This person is assigned to execute a test.""
"Its performance is horrible, and it's unnecessarily complex, which means the local site administrators set it up to be used in very unproductive ways."
"ALM requires that you install client side components. If your organization does not allow admin rights on your local machine, this means you will need someone to run the installation for you with admin rights. This client side install is also limited to Internet Explorer and does not support any other browsers."
"We have had a bit of trouble at times and, in all fairness, sometimes we felt quite left alone."
"The browser support needs to be improved in this because it supports only Internet Explorer as of now; it does not have support for Firefox, Chrome, Safari, or any other browser."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Comparing the pricing to other products, I think this solution is in the middle."
"You get what you pay for. Don't let your development teams dictate what the portfolio management team should use as the main tool."
"It is an expensive tool. I think one needs to pay 10,000 USD towards the perpetual licensing model."
"Depending on the volume, the annual maintenance costs vary on a percentage but it's around $300 a year per license for maintenance. It's at 18% of the total cost of the license."
"The enterprise pricing and licensing are reasonable."
"It allows us to keep our costs low. I do not want to pay beyond a certain point for this solution."
"Micro Focus ALM Quality Center is very expensive."
"I'd rate the pricing as 3/10 as it's very expensive."
"For pricing, I recommend to buy a bundled package. Check the HPE site for more details."
"If you have more than five users, a concurrent licensing model should be considered."
