We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Commvault provides data protection. Their engine is ransomware-agnostic so ransomware doesn't compromise our backup data. Therefore, we can rely on their data protection to recover and back up our production system.""The Commvault Complete Data Protection interface is straightforward to use.""The features I find most helpful in Commvault are its ability to perform incremental backups and significantly reduce backup times for our diverse multi-architecture, multi-environment environment.""This product has allowed us to recover data when we've had issues.""There are many valuable features of Commvault HyperScale X giving many possibilities to complete jobs.""We specialize in Commvault and IntelliSnap. Commvault covers all our customers' backup needs in one system, and they have complete control over their Snapshot backups. Snapshots are important to our customers because of the size of their data sets.""The solution provides us with a single platform to move, manage, and recover our data across on-premise locations. Some of the guys have been using it to move a virtual machine from VMware to the Microsoft solution, Hyper-V. They back it up and then they restore to the different virtual machine provider, and that works great.""The most valuable feature is sharing data sets like they're in a private cloud. We call it our "private cloud" because we can share anything that is inside our backup set with our colleagues or with other people, and yet, everything is still in Belgrade, in Serbia. It's not somewhere else on cloud servers. Everything is in our environment."

"The AI-based detection, scanning, prevention and mitigation features are the most valuable features.""One of the top things we're interested in is cloud protection.""The XDR capabilities are very good.""The protection provided by SentinelOne Singularity Identity is the most valuable feature.""The threat detection capability is the most valuable feature.""The biggest value for us is getting a much better picture of what our risks are.""I like the detection and protection features. We don't need to do anything, and it will alert us when the mitigation is not successful. We only need to target those endpoints. Otherwise, we don't have to do anything about that.""SentinelOne Singularity Identity is very lightweight as an agent or software."

Cons
"Commvault is a rich system that might scare somebody the first time they see it because it feels so huge.""There is room for improvement in the data center application running on the cloud for the platform.""I would like more communication informing us on what Commvault is doing in the background.""Commvault is complex even if the product has comprehensive solutions and covers pretty much every technology out there. There's no unified way to manage all of the products on one single console.""The tool should revise its licensing.""It is a little more complicated than it really needs to be.""The product could be more convenient in terms of working with different solutions and having more integration between the different products in the market.""I would like to have a manager-level dashboard to review the backups. This is not from an administrative perspective where you can see the details of the execution. Rather, it would only show the percentage of completeness for each one."

More Commvault Cloud Cons →

"SentinelOne Singularity Identity could be more user-friendly.""Our company has different locations, such as Sunbury, Oklahoma, and Alabama. I have my devices by location, and I have not found a way to choose all the endpoints and then push the update automatically. I have been doing it one by one.""The resolution turnaround from SentinelOne Singularity Identity's support should be improved.""The root cause of automation could be better.""I don't like SentinelOne's reporting tools. Their reports seem fine theoretically, but the issue is the sample size. For example, it will report that there were four incidents, and that equals 25 percent fewer incidents compared to the previous months. It would be a great improvement if I could expand the range to see reports for the last six months, but it's always one month. That would be an easy thing for them to resolve.""The primary reason for this discontent is that we frequently encounter performance issues with our servers.""The solution's query resolution time could be reduced further, and a faster resolution could be provided.""The UI can be more user-friendly."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "If budget allows using the per socket license and not the agent based with per GB counter for Dedup is the way to go."
  • "There is now a subscription based licence option that, depending on your environment, could offer a more efficient method to licence the solution if you are OPEX cost driven rather than CAPEX."
  • "New licensing is easy and affordable."
  • "Licensing could be better explained. Sometimes, it's unclear what features are available in different licensing models."
  • "Compared to other competitors and vendors the pricing is fair."
  • "In my experience, compared to solutions like Veritas and Veeam, while they do have their technical pluses and minuses, Commvault can save you on average forty percent initially, and then twenty to twenty-five percent annually."
  • "The price could perhaps be lower as well."
  • "Our cost is around $20,000 per month. The previous year, it was around $30,000 per month. It now costs less because Commvault changed the licensing type for providers."

Commvault Cloud is not just a security tool; it is a key component of cyber resilience, enabling organizations to not only protect against cyberattacks but also recover swiftly and minimize the impact of incidents. Elevate your cyber resilience strategy with Commvault Cloud.

Singularity Identity, a component of the Singularity platform, provides threat detection & response (ITDR) capabilities to defend Active Directory and domain-joined endpoints in real-time from adversaries aiming to gain persistent, elevated privilege and move covertly. Singularity Identity provides actionable, high-fidelity insight as attacks emerge from managed and unmanaged devices. It detects identity misuse and reconnaissance activity happening within endpoint processes targeting critical domain servers, service accounts, local credentials, local data, network data, and cloud data. On-agent cloaking and deception techniques slow the adversary down while providing situational awareness and halting adversarial attempts at lateral movement. Singularity Identity helps you detect and respond to identity-based attacks, providing early warning while misdirecting them away from production assets.

Singularity Identity’s primary use case is to protect credential data and disrupt identity-based attacks. The most valuable function of Singularity Identity is its ability to misdirect attackers by providing deceptive data to identity-based recon attacks. Additionally, it can hide and deny access to locally stored credentials or identity data on Active Directory domain controllers.

Singularity Identity also provides rapid detection and respond to identity attacks, capturing attack activity and feeding it directly to the Singularity platform’s Security DataLake for enterprise-wide analysis and response.

By implementing Singularity Identity, organizations benefit from enhanced security, reduced credential-related risks, and improved user productivity. It detects and responds to identity-based attacks, ensuring only authorized individuals can access critical identity data. With its cloaking capabilities to hide identity stored locally on endpoints or in the identity infrastructure and it’s ability to provide decoy results to identity-based attacks, organizations can effectively secure their sensitive or privileged identities, resulting in improved overall identity security.
