Enables effective data management with reliable backup and recovery
Cohesity SmartFiles aids in data management with features like full-text search through indexed documents. The architecture supports backup, ransomware awareness, and data management on a converged platform, offering triple-protocol access (NFS, CIFS, and S3) while facilitating gradual improvements in access rights management. It allows for redundant setups, with automated backup and recovery options in a cloud environment.

AI projects have gained momentum as our team has built a strong pipeline for data‑intensive workloads
The best features Everpure FlashBlade offers, which stand out to both me and our customers, are its exceptional performance for AI and analytics workloads, its ability to scale seamlessly, its unified file and object storage architecture, and simplicity of management. Customers also value the fast backup and recovery capabilities, which are critical for cyber resiliency strategies. One of the challenges we face in Brazil is the price point. Everpure FlashBlade is a premium solution, and for many customers, the initial investment can be difficult to justify unless they have very demanding workloads such as AI, large-scale analytics, high performance, or cyber recovery. Because of this, our focus is on identifying customers where the business value and performance benefits clearly outweigh the cost. Since we have not yet deployed Everpure FlashBlade in production with a customer in Brazil with TDCX, I cannot speak from direct operational experience regarding its positive impact. However, Everpure FlashBlade has helped us engage in strategic conversations around AI, cyber resiliency, and modern data architectures. We have Everpure FlashBlade available in Brazil with TDCX for proof of concept activities, which allows customers to validate performance, scalability, and their real-world use cases before making an investment decision. This has been a significant asset in the presales and technology evangelization process and has helped customers understand the business value of Everpure FlashBlade. We have a proof of concept with a customer called M. Dias Branco in Lardas in Brazil. The project is in progress and we hope to close this sale this year.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Cohesity SmartFiles aids in data management with features like full-text search through indexed documents."
"The main feature I have found to be product replication."
"Using this solution has made our backups more reliable."
"For those who are interested in using this solution, I would recommend it."
"We chose Pure because we like their support model and we like their performance."
"The tool's most valuable feature is its fast performance, especially in handling snapshots. It helps during power outages when we need to quickly move data between different data centers. It ensures efficient replication and helps maintain our data centers' uptime."
"The tool's most valuable features are data warehousing, speedy recovery, and analytics. Its latest release is cost-effective."
"It uses the same platform for connectivity so integration is seamless."
"I like its size. It is smaller than the other competitors. We can plug in many blades, and we can have data up to one terabyte."

Cons

"Users must remember that running DataProtect and files on the same cluster could threaten access if there is a platform failure. It's not suitable for applications needing high I/O or low latency."
"Its configuration should be easier."
"The Pure Storage Orchestrator is our biggest pain point at the moment. If we can have more say in future developments of feature sets that we will need to support for our use case, that would be pretty beneficial to us."
"In terms of scalability, it doesn't expand out quite as robustly as some of the others, but it covers 90% of the market in what it does."
"File storage needs a lot of improvement. Mainframe connectivity also needs improvement because it requires additional components to be integrated with Pure Storage FlashBlade. If you want to keep your backup data, then this becomes an even more expensive solution because Pure Storage FlashBlade will not be able to meet your backup needs."
"Recently, while upgrading the version code, one of the controllers failed. Replacing the controller took between 14 to 20 days."
"I would like to see better integration."
"The solution is expensive."
"I would not rate Everpure FlashBlade as a perfect score primarily due to the price point in the Brazilian market."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"Pure Storage FlashBlade is a hardware appliance, and it's very expensive if you compare its price with other solutions. You can get the same features and benefits from its competitor, VAST Data, but for half the price of Pure Storage FlashBlade."
"In my opinion, we have paid the right price for the product. I don't think that it is too much or too little."
"Our customers have seen a reduction in TCO."
"The product is very expensive."
"The pricing for FlashBlade is between cheap and moderate."
"It is within reason for what you get. From what we have found comparing it to other vendors, it is in the same range as others. Given the choice, we would definitely redeploy it based on the cost."
"Support is a separate line item. Support is a different cost, but whatever your support is now, that's what you're going to pay forever. If your support's $100 today, six years from now it's $100. It doesn't fluctuate unless you upgrade it, or change it, etc."
"It's a costly solution, but Pure Storage FlashBlade doesn't require additional licenses. All of the software is combined into one bundle."
