We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"I found the cost-effectiveness of Druva Phoenix to be its most valuable feature, especially when compared to on-premises backup solutions.""Once you set it up and you tell it exactly what needs to be backed up, you literally forget about it. It sends you emails and notifications of the current status of the jobs.""Druva Phoenix is easy to use and easy to start with.""I would definitively say that we have been able to make our people more productive by at least 30%.""The most valuable features of Druva Phoenix are the simple portal to log in and flexibility."

"The initial setup is easy.""Provides easy, one-click functionality and flexible backup policies and schedules for AWS workloads.""The backup and recovery are the most valuable features. So, our developers can work with confidence.""The most valuable feature is the ease of use.""The recovery time is fantastic and proven. Also, by providing a simple interface, the solution lowers the cost.""N2WS Backup & Recovery is very easy to use and configure backup for AWS instances.""The product is successful with the SMB market.""The backup and restore functionality is very easy to use and manage."

Cons
"Druva Phoenix should include a few reporting features that it doesn't provide currently.""There is room for improvement in the reporting aspect of Druva Phoenix.""Druva Phoenix is optimized to work with x86 platforms, making it unsuitable for backing up non-x86 architectures like AIX. The solution is primarily designed for physical Linux and Windows systems based on the x86 architecture, as well as virtualized Windows and Linux environments. However, if you have an AIX system, it cannot be deployed in the cloud, and therefore, backing it up in the cloud is not a concern.""They were able to give us a very reasonable price considering we were non-for-profit organizations, however, there is always room for improvement on that cost."

More Druva Phoenix Cons →

"The GUI could be slightly improved.""The solution has the option to take backup on-prem servers, but it's not very efficient.""The UI is a little dated and hard to use. Some of the buttons are a bit small. You have to go into the menu to get the settings you want.""There is room for improvement in stability.""Additional features I would like to see are the ability to restore to different vendors, AWS and Azure, and/or the ability or take the information out of the AWS cloud.""It's a global feature that the customer thinks they don't have enough tools to manage, to copy, to delay, and to classify the object file in the backup directory. So they need more tools to manage files in object directory.""More documentation would be helpful, especially some step-by-step documents for recovery scenarios.""The GUI has room for improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "We’ve had experience with the data center for a while and we have had solutions that were able to support older versions of the operating systems that we needed. I would like for Druva to support it as well."
  • "Druva Phoenix's pricing is based on the service provided, and it's reasonable. The cost of the service will depend on the size of your data and the number of virtual machines being backed up. However, the pricing structure is straightforward and easy to understand."
  • "I assume clients use Druva Phoenix because it is cheaper than other products."

  • "The purchasing process through the AWS Marketplace is easy. Just click the button."
  • "The pricing and licensing on AWS is fine, because you can do it for smaller tiers depending on your number of instances, so it's not that scary."
  • "AWS adds more features and offer things for free, or cheaply. Therefore, we will be evaluating AWS Data Lifecycle Manager, because it will probably do backups. Thus, make sure the product that you are using is competitive or adds more value than AWS."
  • "It's very economical and worth the cost."
  • "It has very good pricing per instance and comes with three options, for both small and large environments, to fit your needs."
  • "The price is not cheap, nor is it costly."
