CIS hardening has simplified secure container workloads but AppArmor still blocks Docker by default
The CIS L1 AppArmor enforcement breaks Docker out of the box. Containers fail to start with a permission denied on the containerd task directory. There is no documentation about this. A simple note explaining that Docker users need to either update the runc AppArmor profile or disable it would save a lot of debugging time. It takes a while to trace the failure back to AppArmor blocking runc writes to /run/containerd/.

Recruiting has become more efficient and consistently delivers strong candidates for every role
Improvements could be made for Dice Tech Recruiting, such as verifying the profiles uploaded by individuals outside the US who are pretending to be in the USA. This would help recruiters reach out to the right candidates, potentially by adding a feature for verification with an ID. I would like to add that while I use mostly Boolean search on Dice Tech Recruiting, sometimes there are glitches resulting in irrelevant results being shown, which does not help in finding the right match. I would suggest that Dice Tech Recruiting should only provide profiles that match our searches. I believe I have covered all the suggestions I could make for improvements needed in Dice Tech Recruiting, but I remain open to suggesting additional features in the future as different scenarios may appear.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"ClearScale Ubuntu 26.04 LTS is an excellent choice for organizations adopting cloud-native technologies and modern DevOps practices."
"Once you get that launch template dialed in, the image is incredibly solid."
"The same-day engineering support has been very valuable."
"The pre-applied CIS L1 benchmark is the main selling point, as getting a hardened baseline without manual effort is genuinely useful and the Ubuntu 26.04 LTS base also means I'm on a supported, up-to-date kernel with long-term security patches."
"The hourly software charge is small relative to the engineering time we used to spend building and maintaining our own hardened AMI."
"Dice Tech Recruiting has positively impacted my organization by reducing my sourcing time significantly, as finding resumes in Dice is time-saving and it provides a pool of relevant employees."
"Dice Tech Recruiting positively impacts my organization by supporting us in finding good resources with genuine knowledge and experience about the technology we are submitting for candidates."
"Dice Tech Recruiting has a positive impact on our organization by helping us source qualified technology candidates more efficiently."
"Dice Tech Recruiting has positively impacted my organization by helping it grow; everything is growing."
"Dice Tech Recruiting is better than all other platforms such as Monster or CareerBuilder."
"Since I have been using Dice Tech Recruiting, I have noticed that I receive 90 to 95 percent of matched candidates as per the job description I share with the client, and I get confirmation most of the time."
"Dice Tech Recruiting has positively impacted my organization as we have noticed many changes, as after investing significant money in LinkedIn RPS, we found that most requirements were fulfilled by Dice, leading us to stop purchasing LinkedIn RPS and save considerable money."
"I have seen a great return on investment from using Dice Tech Recruiting, as it has helped us grow, and most closures happening are through Dice Tech Recruiting, indicating a positive ROI; I need to check exact metrics, but it is always in the positive."

Cons

"Because the firewall ships default-deny, the first launch in a new environment takes a little planning to open the exact ports the app and load balancer health checks need."
"Enterprise management and compliance tooling could be more comprehensive out of the box."
"The CIS L1 AppArmor enforcement breaks Docker out of the box."
"It'd be cool to have more detailed changelogs with each new release so we can see exactly what packages got updated without having to boot up a test instance and diff it ourselves."
"Dice Tech Recruiting could be improved by enhancing the AI feature. The AI feature needs improvement because it is not accurate; sometimes it gives matching results, and sometimes it gives zero matching results."
"Regarding pricing, the cost is somewhat high compared to other job portals, but the interface, flexibility of use, and user interface are excellent."
"Sometimes it takes a lot of time to reload to get one profile, but other than this, everything is good."
"Dice Tech Recruiting is good, though the AI part can be improved because it is not accurate."
"I would say its accuracy and reliability of output is average at best, as AI only operates based on algorithms, which means it does not fully comprehend the specific skills I need to evaluate in a profile."
"I chose eight out of ten for Dice Tech Recruiting because everything is not perfect, and there is always a chance for improvement, such as providing more segregation and clarity on profiles that may not be genuine, for example, identifying if a candidate has submitted their profile multiple times, which would ease our job in finding the right candidates."
"Dice Tech Recruiting's AI could be improved because it is not providing accurate results."
"The improvements needed for Dice Tech Recruiting include better search accuracy, fewer outdated profiles, strong AI-based candidate matching, improved ATS integration, and better filtration for verification skills and recent experience."
