A stable solution with an intuitive interface and quick customer service
I have been working with Fortinet FortiGate, WatchGuard, Sophos, and SonicWall. I'm not as comfortable with SonicWall because of their UI and limitations. I prefer Fortinet above all other options. When it comes to configuration, I am confident in my ability to handle various tasks, including creating policies such as firewall rules, web policies, and application policies. Additionally, I can configure VPNs and implement load balancing, among other tasks. Overall, I feel much more comfortable working with Fortinet. Fortinet has made significant improvements by integrating AI with firewalls for threat analysis and prevention. In the past 2-3 years, they have launched FortiSASE and SIEM, and they also provide SOC services. Both Palo Alto and Fortinet FortiGate are excellent. While Fortinet FortiGate comes at higher prices, the functionality and support justify the cost. They promptly resolve firmware issues and inform all support providers about configuration changes.

Experience improved network management with flexible and secure connections
I recommend that Meraki MX should improve to be a better solution for the next release by being more competent so that we can offer it as a primary solution among all other brands, although I don't have any specific feedback, while the competitors are also ahead of these solutions. Enhancing user experience is always required. Enhancing the seamless connectivity is crucial and user experience enhancement is needed daily, otherwise people find it outdated. New features should look and be dynamically connected, and users should not be bothered frequently when connectivity issues occur. It should automatically remediate and find out the issue and then resolve it on its own without interrupting the work of the employees.

Pros

"The impact of SD-WAN on the network performance has been significant."
"I am content with its user interface and functionalities."
"The most valuable feature is the ease of configuration."
"FortiGate SD-WAN facilitated a smooth transition for our customers between their two internet service providers, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity without any downtime."
"Valuable features include the Web Application Firewall, and it even has DLP (data leak prevention)."
"The most valuable feature of Fortinet FortiGate IPS is its efficiency."
"I like that you are able to manage FortiGate from the FortiManager to create a more centralized environment."
"The product is stable and strong."
"Traffic Shaping: The device lets you decide how you want to use your internet services. Due to the fact that Meraki can accept dual WAN, you can decide the way you balance the data traffic."
"Deployment takes no more than one working day."
"It has the most advanced security features, for example, layer 3 and layer 7 firewall capabilities and the end team and IPS protection. It also has IPS, and it has very good functioning of cloning services. You don't actually have to touch the device. If you have multiple companies in different countries, you don't really require this device to be touched. You can get it delivered directly to any office of a country, and then you can simply put your configuration over the cloud. It's very simplified and easy to manage. It gives a very good granular visibility about your network. Earlier, a lot of things were lacking in the network. We were unable to identify where the problem was, but after implementing Meraki MX, we are able to dig down and identify where is the problem. We can easily and quickly identify the sources and the root causes of the issues."
"We've had no issues with the scalability or the stability of this solution"
"WAN optimization is the best feature of the solution."
"Dual WAN connections are greatly simplified and point-to-point VPNs automatically connect regardless of what WAN connection is active."
"I am happy with the technical support for the solution. I rate the technical support a ten out of ten."
"In terms of WAN optimization, it's completely cloud-controlled. Anyone can manage their network environment from a mobile phone."
"The stability of Palo Alto Networks CN-Series is excellent."
"The app inspection is very helpful for network security."

Cons

"The performance and speed are aspects of the solution that could always be improved upon."
"The solution could improve the integration."
"The web process often has a memory leak."
"More advanced AI capabilities would be beneficial in future updates."
"They've become quite expensive."
"It is quite new for us, and we need to go more in-depth into the monitoring tools. It provides different features that we need to do what we want. So far, it is okay for us. In terms of improvement, in the future, they can provide a faster implementation of features. Some of the features are first available in other solutions. Fortinet sometimes takes a little bit longer than other solutions, such as Check Point, to implement new features."
"The software is a bit expensive to renew."
"In some cases, its initial setup could be hard for customers."
"You can only have one tunnel in the whole infrastructure — one tunnel with one device."
"The security is not as strong as it could be"
"They need to improve the link between Meraki and Active Directory."
"We can’t access GUI management and CLI opening features when the Internet is unavailable."
"When it comes to cost, that's a pain point."
"We do not have account managers in our region for the solution. Some governments don't use the product since it is attached to the internet."
"We feel that Cisco provides smaller features, with fewer possibilities versus other solutions out there."
"They're very complacent and I find the rule set to be a little arcane."
"I'd like to see more IOPs features."
"Palo Alto Networks CN-Series could improve on its pricing as it is quite expensive."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is less expensive than a Cisco solution."
"When comparing the price of Fortinet FortiGate SWG to other solutions it is expensive. The price could be better."
"The Fortinet FortiGate security features cost approximately $1,500 a year. The firewall itself doesn't have a recurring cost. It's the security features on top of that that you pay for."
"The price of FortiGate is reasonable as I plan to buy new switches. The initial gadgets are already booted, and the pricing seems normal on the market. As for additional costs, I haven't subscribed to many extra features, so I'm only using what I need. Last year, I renewed the support for three years, which can sometimes be expensive but depends on the security benefits and how it helps us."
"Some of our customers are using Sophos and SonicWall due to price concerns, as they can't manage the pricing of Fortinet FortiGate."
"I rate the pricing an eight and a half on a scale of one to ten, where one is low, and ten is high."
"Work through partners for the best pricing."
"The pricing is justified. It's a little pricey, but what you pay for is what you get."
"Its licensing cost could be better."
"The product's price depends on use cases."
"The price varies depending on the hardware platform as well as the type of license and whether you're adding security or not."
"In my country, the product is cheap compared to the UK because of the differences in taxes."
"The product is a little expensive."
"It can always improve pricewise regarding throughput."
"The price is slightly increased, but reasonable."
"The pricing could always be improved — especially with the shape the economy is in at the moment."
