Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Automation has unified workflows and now drives AI-orchestrated operations for our teams

Automation has transformed document processing and frees teams to focus on higher‑value analysis
Sometimes, we encounter system errors that could be resolved via support, but connection issues are more frequent in enterprise applications. However, these can usually be solved by raising tickets if you are part of an enterprise, though we are not, which makes it somewhat challenging. It is vital to ensure the connections of UiPath Platform are maintained because it has a larger community. If UiPath Platform website included more features and documentation accessible easily, it would greatly enhance the experience. Instead of continually needing to raise support tickets, having a documentation hub where details can just be entered to retrieve required documents would be extremely beneficial.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Now they have a nice tool that is mostly stable with most of the features I could want being covered in the functionality of the product."
"One thing that I want to highlight AA for is their security standards."
"When our organization switched to Automation Anywhere, the accuracy rate improved and consequently, there has not been much data loss."
"A cloud deployment typically takes no more than one business day."
"Business users utilize Bot Insight dashboards to get analysis."
"We have improved on IQ Bot collectively with the normal Taskbot that we use. How it got started was that we have a lot of scanned documents to input for our solution. So, I used to get a lot of scanned documents, and extracting or reading the data from those has always been a pain area. We always used to bring a manual person in to do it. Once a manual person did that activity, it was brought into Excel where I could run the bot. With the entry of IQ Bot, it now takes care of my scanned documents, which means IQ Bot does the OCR extraction and gives my data to the Automation Anywhere Taskbot. This means no manual intervention and end-to-end bot processing, along with a happy customer at the end of the day. We provide these services to multiple clients, so we have been doing this for all of our clients."
"We have saved time and money using the solution."
"Automation Anywhere overall is a great tool for automation, as it provides a lot of flexibility to work with different other applications."
"Cerbrec has significantly improved our operational efficiency by unifying disparate workflows into a single AI-orchestrated system."
"Cerbrec’s ability to rapidly prototype solutions, test them, and make changes has allowed them to leapfrog similar solutions in terms of value delivery."
"In our organization, UiPath is the number one RPA tool, and being close to the industry as a developer, I do feel like it's the preferred tool, at least where I'm based in Australia."
"UiPath's most valuable feature is its ability to view and extract any data throughout the entire development process in the automation framework."
"In my experience, I would say that it is the best platform for people who are willing to learn to automate."
"UiPath Platform has reduced human error and freed up employee time, positively affecting our business as errors are reduced and employees are freed up."
"UiPath enables mainly our clients (through us) to build end-to-end automation in their processes."
"UiPath Platform has helped reduce human error and free up employee time as we implement use cases in production for automation."
"The UiPath Apps feature has helped to reduce the workload for our IT department by enabling end-users to create apps. Even some of the business people have been trained to do that. They have been able to build small, attended bots."
"It is user-friendly and significantly speeds up the development process."

Cons

"We did face some issues last year when there was an upgrade in Automation Anywhere control room, and at that time our web application automations were failing."
"The starting price, which is a one-off fee is a bit high and this may deter mid and small-sized companies from acquiring and decide to shun the platform."
"Automation Anywhere (AA) has a lot of stability issues. It needs a lot of maintenance."
"One improvement would be to implement a log mechanism within the workflow, similar to other automation tools. Currently, the log mechanism uses a text file. If we want to monitor a process, we need to check manually."
"The goal of any automation is to provide efficiencies... I would like a default feature where each bot gives us data on all the benefits it provides from its process."
"We would like Automation Anywhere to have a way to run a capacity check on machines and show us what is available."
"There is room for improvement in terms of costs and procurement considerations."
"There were times in the past where through submitting a ticket for support, it seemed that some of the engineers who were helping me did not understand the product that they were supporting. That felt difficult because I felt I was almost explaining the product to the company."
"Documentation for advanced agent customization is good, but it could include more real-world examples."
"UiPath has to run on some infrastructure, and that infrastructure and security is not scalable yet."
"One improvement that could be made is in terms of keeping the documentation updated. Some of the online documentation is outdated."
"UiPath Platform could be better growing in the Agentic and the GenAI space."
"UiPath claims that it is easy to learn and it's for everybody, but it's not true."
"In most cases, the results from the software are the same and not variable. This means that we have to define the variable by editing the flow chart."
"UiPath Studio could offer alternative coding methods. You could invoke the code with VB or C#, but I'm unfamiliar with either of those languages, and I don't have time to explore them."
"The licensing could be more flexible."
"We have had issues with Ingram Micro. It happened that we ordered licenses and we received something else. It takes a relatively long time, two and sometimes even three weeks, after the order until we receive licenses, and clients are sometimes a little bit impatient. This is something that should be accelerated."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It saves me around $100,000 a year."
"It looks like it will be right around $115,000, not counting IQ Bot, which we won't renew until later."
"The ROI is really good. We have saved time and money."
"We are not receiving the right information about their features, e.g. Automation Anywhere University, or anything that they are selling. They need to improve their documentation."
"It is somewhere in the middle. The price and value of Automation Anywhere are better than UiPath. The pricing is good globally. It could be a little bit cheaper, but it is good."
"The current pricing for Automation Anywhere seems a little higher compared to competitors Power Automate or UiPath. Automation Anywhere is perceived as pricey due to the support model charges ranging from 20% to 30% based on the plans."
"It saves on the quality of work, because the quality can be bad when somebody's doing it. If a bot does the work, it's faster and comes with good quality. These are two important things along with the cost saving in the long run. That's where the value is."
"My understanding is that the license cost of Automation Anywhere is more reasonable than UiPath and Blue Prism."
Information not available
"It is reasonable considering the benefits of automating the processes."
"The pricing is competitive, and for large-scale use cases, UiPath may make better sense cost-wise. However, it is not very viable for small-scale use cases. Power Automate is much cheaper and has similar functionalities. UiPath offers two options. If you choose the on-premises option, then you would have to manage it yourself, but if you go for the fully managed one, then there won't be any overhead cost. We are gradually moving to Power Automate and Power Apps because we are already on the Microsoft stack, and it helps us reduce the footprint. If the cost of UiPath were comparable to that of Power Automate, then UiPath would have been the better alternative."
"The cost for UiPath is affordable."
"The licensing cost is very high."
"The product is not the cheapest."
"The pricing is quite reasonable."
"There is always an opportunity to improve. They have been trying to improve pricing by consolidating some of these SKUs together. They are trying to bundle more capabilities with the same set of licenses, which is good. However, because things are always changing, it leads to some confusion. They can make it more streamlined and consistent."
"We license the product on a yearly basis and it costs us around $80,000."
