Enables us to prioritize and effectively address critical security issues
Evidence-based reporting helps us to prioritize and solve critical security issues. The new visualization feature demonstrates how an attacker can enter the system, highlighting the potential path that can be exploited and outlining all the steps the attacker could take. With that visibility, we can ensure the perimeter is strong and attackers cannot enter, thus reducing the risk. It has helped us prioritize issues. The visibility into how an attack could happen is valuable. For example, it highlights the system vulnerability and outlines where an attack could propagate. The visualization helps me to prioritize remediation, and if I don't know where to start, I can check to see the score that enables me to prioritize issues. I am using infrastructure-as-code scanning, and it's one of the useful features. In pre-production, it identifies embedded secrets and misconfigurations, including issues with Kubernetes or some privileged containers. This feature allows us to pass the audit and secure IaC code so that it isn't easily exploitable by attackers. We can more proactively work to identify and resolve vulnerabilities by using the dashboard and the alerting system that SentinelOne provides. It helps us with audits and compliance. We can show the compliance in percentage. We can confidently say that our company or infrastructure is very secure. It has improved our security posture by 30% to 35%. It has reduced our false positives by 30%. It has helped teams collaborate better. The security team manages SentinelOne Singularity Cloud Security, and when it flags vulnerabilities, they are forwarded to DevOps for remediation. Previously, we needed to identify and report the issues, but there would be lapses in communication. Now, there is a centralized dashboard that anyone can look at and see the open issues and work on them.

Multi-cloud, good scanning, and offers extensive guides
The challenge is that they charge you per resource. We had an issue where Google Cloud was generating secrets for our application configurations by the hundreds, which we would be charged by Bridgecloud. Our price would have surged to an insane amount due to the automatically generated secrets that we don't even use for anything, which isn't part of our security concern. What we would like to know is if there is a way that we could exclude those from our resources so that we're not billed for that. We don't monitor that. They ignored me for a month through four emails asking about that. They were just totally unresponsive. Then after a month, I said, "I guess you don't want our business." And they responded, "Oh, we're sorry to hear that." I'd say "You're sorry to hear that? Why didn't you respond to any of my emails?" If you're trying to pay them less money, then they want to get rid of you. They don't want to talk to you. That's what it came across as. It's not like we weren't looking at spending thousands of dollars a month with them. We just weren't looking at spending $8,000 versus $2,000. That was a bit frustrating. Generally, I do like their product. It's a useful product. It's good. We wanted to use it. However, since they blew us off, it left a bad taste in our mouths. Their sales team needs a little bit of a jostle to get themselves together. We'd like to see better monitoring and the ability to deny certain resources from being scanned.

Unified cloud visibility has transformed our risk prioritization and reduced alert fatigue while improving collaboration across security and DevSecOps teams
The standout features of Wiz that make it valuable for me include good multi-cloud environment support, data governance, shadow IT detection, DevSecOps governance, automation, level reporting, threat detection, and good infrastructure detection. Wiz has positively impacted my organization by implementing zero trust authorization, providing good reporting that shows the top attack path, critical assets, overall risk posture, and demonstrating AI and ML workload capabilities towards my team, as well as good infrastructure detection and vulnerability detection accuracy with security posture management at massive scale and identity exposure. There is a massive reduction in risk exposure, immediate visibility across the entire cloud estate, reduced noise and better prioritization, stronger DevSecOps collaboration, continuous compliance instead of ad hoc panic, faster incident response with real context, significant cost savings through tool consolidation, and stronger AI and data governance.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It is fairly simple. Anybody can use it."
"SentinelOne Singularity Cloud Security's integration is smooth. They are highly customer-oriented, and the integration went well for us."
"I would rate SentinelOne Singularity Cloud Security a nine out of ten."
"I like CSPM the most. It captures a lot of alerts within a short period of time. When an alert gets triggered on the cloud, it throws an alert within half an hour, which is very reasonable. It is a plus point for us."
"The most valuable features of SentinelOne Singularity Cloud Security are the asset inventory and issue indexing."
"SentinelOne Singularity Cloud Security released a new security graph tool that helps us identify the root issue. Other tools give you a pass/fail type of profile on all misconfigurations, and those will run into the thousands. SentinelOne Singularity Cloud Security's graphing algorithm connects various components together and tries to identify what is severe and what is not. It can correlate various vulnerabilities and datasets to test them on the back end to pinpoint the real issue."
"SentinelOne Singularity Cloud Security is better than other vendors because we get all the cloud-related, data center-related information."
"Singularity Cloud Security's most valuable features are its ease of scalability and comprehensive security measures."
"In cases where they have automatic remediations, you can click a button and it'll just fix the configuration for you."
"New users don't have too many problems with the product. They have a lot of training documentation around it."
"The most valuable feature of Wiz is that it keeps information up to date without needing to perform scans or schedule maintenance windows. It provides a fresh snapshot of our vulnerability metrics."
"I like Wiz's reporting, and it's easy to do queries. For example, it's pretty simple to find out how many servers we have and the applications installed on each. I like Wiz's security graph because you can use it to see the whole organization even if you have multiple accounts."
"With Wiz, we get timely alerts for leaked data or any vulnerabilities already existing in our environment."
"What I appreciate most about Wiz is that the compliance and CSPM aspects of this cloud-native application protection offering are genuinely better than other products available in the market."
"Out of all the features, the one item that has been most valuable is the fact that Wiz puts into context all the pieces that create an issue, and applies a particular risk evaluation that helps us prioritize when we need to address a misconfiguration, vulnerability, or any issue that would put our environment into risk."
"Wiz is a very powerful product technologically."
"The automation roles are essential because we ultimately want to do less work and automate more. The dashboards are easy to read and visually pleasing. You can understand things quickly, which makes it easy for our other teams. The network and infrastructure teams don't know as much about security as we do, so it helps to have a tool that's accessible and nice to look at."
"Wiz offers greater visibility and more in-depth findings in terms of configuration, misconfiguration, and vulnerabilities."

Cons

"When we request any changes, they must be reflected in the next update."
"Singularity Cloud Security currently lacks a break-glass account function, which is a critical component for implementing Single Sign-On as it allows for regaining access in emergencies."
"While SentinelOne Singularity Cloud Security offers real-time response, there is room for improvement in alert accuracy."
"The cloud-based operations might pose challenges in areas with limited or unavailable internet connectivity. Desktop features might be useful for smaller organizations with less complex security needs."
"The areas with room for improvement include the cost, which is higher compared to other security platforms. The dashboard can also be laggy."
"It does not bring much threat intel from the outside world. All it does is scan. If it can also correlate things, it will be better."
"SentinelOne Singularity Cloud Security is on the costlier side."
"While it is good, I think the solution's console could be improved."
"The biggest issue that I see companies run into is that they immediately think that, "Oh, this solution will be right, simply due to the name." But that's the same issue Splunk runs into. People will immediately jump to Splunk being the best SIEM tool, just because they're the largest. When in reality, QRadar, LogRhythm, and all these other ones are performing similar functions and would actually fit better in some people's environments. Therefore, it's important a company does its homework and does not assume one size fits all."
"We'd like to see better monitoring and the ability to deny certain resources from being scanned."
"The only thing that needs to be improved is the number of scans per day."
"As the tool is a good fit for small and medium-sized businesses, the solution should focus on making the product suitable for large-scale businesses."
"There is also alert noise in larger environments that generates duplicate alerts for the same issues under different categories."
"We wish there were a way, beyond providing visibility and automated remediation, to wait on a given remediation, due to a critical aspect, such as the cost associated with a particular upgrade... We would like to see preventive controls that can be applied through Wiz to protect against vulnerabilities that we're not going to be able to remediate immediately."
"There is room for improvement in Wiz, particularly in operator management, as general operators may lack the necessary knowledge, requiring an easier-to-understand tool."
"The reporting isn't that great. They have executive summaries, but it's only a compliance report that maps all current issues to specific controls. Whether you look at one subscription or project, regardless of the size, you will get a multipage report on how the issues in that account map to that control. Our CSO isn't going to read through that. He won't filter that out or show that to his leadership and say, "Here's what we're doing." It isn't a helpful report. They're working on it, but it's a poor executive summary."
"Wiz can be improved with better maturity in code scanning and developer workflows, expanding secret detection to full lifecycle management, stronger IAM across multi-account environments, more transparent attack path scoring and risk modeling, improved AI and ML security scanning, reduced false positives in runtime threat detection, more fine-grained access control and tenant separation, and better integration for serverless workloads."
"Wiz does encounter some glitches similar to other tools in the market; I remember facing certain challenges, such as problems scanning encrypted disks or discrepancies in the findings from already remediated vulnerabilities not reflecting accurately in the tool."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Its pricing was a little less than other providers."
"SentinelOne Singularity Cloud Security is costly."
"I wasn't sure what to expect from the pricing, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was a little less than I thought."
"PingSafe is priced reasonably for our workload."
"PingSafe is not very expensive compared to Prisma Cloud, but it's also not that cheap. However, because of its features, it makes sense to us as a company. It's fairly priced."
"PingSafe's pricing is good because it provides us with a solution."
"Their pricing appears to be based simply on the number of accounts we have, which is common for cloud-based products."
"Singularity Cloud Security by SentinelOne is cost-efficient."
Information not available
"Based on the features and capabilities, the product pricing seems reasonable."
"Regarding pricing, it’s more than $100k because we have a very big infrastructure. Our environment supports around three thousand people, and we offer business-to-client financial services to around one million clients, so we rely heavily on Wiz."
"The pricing is fair. Some of the more advanced features and functionalities and how the tiers are split can be somewhat confusing."
"If one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the tool's price as a five out of ten."
"I wish the pricing was more transparent."
"The pricing is fair and comparable to their competitors. The cost seems to be going up, which is a concern. There are potential savings from consolidating tools, but we're uncertain how Wiz's pricing will change over time."
"The cost of the other solutions is comparable to Wiz."
"The pricing seems pretty simple. We don't have to do a lot of calculations to figure out what the components are. They do it by enabling specific features, either basics or advanced, which makes it easy to select."
