Has required significant improvements due to limited features but offers simple implementation and good support
Boomi AtomSphere API Management has very few features. If you ask me to name the top two, I would say MuleSoft and Apigee, as it depends on the customer-to-customer use cases. After those, WSO2, Kong, and whether you say Informatica API Manager or Boomi AtomSphere API Management, they stand with only three out of ten features which are essential for API management. All the features that Apigee has, they need to add. All the features that MuleSoft has, they need to add. It is not a simple task. The problem is that they lack features. It is not their performance. There are many features to mention. When you take and compare all the features that Apigee has and all the features that MuleSoft has, they need to implement those features.

Centralized collaboration has transformed API testing and documentation across multiple teams
In terms of improvement, the UI can sometimes feel heavy for larger collections in the workspaces. Additionally, performance may slow down with complex API projects, and pricing can be expensive for smaller teams. However, it is quite suitable for bigger teams. Other areas for improvement include better reporting and analytics dashboards, and more advanced native test environment features could enhance workflow, with smoother offline support and sync handling. Additionally, better performance for very large collections would be helpful, along with more intuitive navigation for enterprise-scale workspaces, stronger reporting analytics, easier management of permissions across large teams, and more flexible automation and testing report options would be beneficial. Small usability and performance improvements would make Postman Enterprise even more efficient for larger organizations. Postman Enterprise needs better performance optimization for large enterprises, more detailed analytics user reporting, improved API governance and audit visibility, simpler permissions and access control management, faster sync and loading times for larger collections, and more advanced built-in testing and reporting capabilities.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The user interface, which we use to create the integration, basically has the data structures collected, is pretty easy to navigate, is a drag and drop style of working, and there is very little code required so the creation of the endpoints is very simple."
"Integrations take less time."
"The product's stability is good."
"Integration is straightforward. There is no issue with it."
"We can create APIs straightforwardly and quickly and build jobs for data migration."
"Boomi allows for more secure URLs and easy customization of HTTP and HTTPS protocols, which I find very beneficial."
"Boomi AtomSphere API Management is a good product for integrating with Boomi as a backend service."
"AtomSphere is tightly integrated into the Boomi iPaaS platform. And Boomi has been augmenting AtomSphere API Management for the past couple of years so version 2.0 is better than 1.0."
"Among the valuable features are data-driven automation response validation testing of the performance of APIs."
"Postman is easy to use and enables us to test all possible API testing scenarios."
"The variables part is good. We can easily define the variables and we don't have to manually do a change every time, it gets automatically updated."
"It allowed us to understand the working and performance of the APIs."
"Postman is a good tool for completing a sanity check or smoke test of REST APIs."
"The solution is stable and provides a good user experience."
"It is easy to install, as well as to learn, particularly for new users, even if they are not developers."
"Postman is open-source and free to use."

Cons

"Boomi AtomSphere API Management has very few features. If you ask me to name the top two, I would say MuleSoft and Apigee, as it depends on the customer-to-customer use cases."
"Boomi AtomSphere API Management can be improved in terms of threshold management and policy management."
"The API management has room for improvement."
"The product is really complex to manage."
"Most of the basic functionality is there in Boomi, but APG is a more feature-rich solution."
"Scalability is an area where Boomi lacks."
"Overall, I would rate AtomSphere lower than solutions like APG or API Connect."
"It's difficult to integrate the on-prem application with the Dell Boomi Cloud. We have to check to ensure the Dell domain engine is running. It just requires some service endpoints from our on-prem application to connect to Dell Boomi Cloud to make it available to integrate. It would be better if AtomSphere API Management were offered as a purely SaaS application, so I wouldn't need an on-prem component to make it available. We could make a test call or provide some connection parameters. That should enable it to pull the data."
"I would like to see improvements in the maintenance of the scripts and their collections. It is really painful that the user cannot drag and drop. It was also painful to create the standard suite of operations for the product. I am not sure if this is improved in the tool’s latest versions. The maintenance of the complex scenarios prompted us to use the solution only for unit testing. In the future, we may switch to the k6 framework."
"The solution can be confusing for first-time users so it could be made a little more user friendly."
"We cannot see transaction times in the product."
"Testing API is pretty straightforward in Postman, but it falls short when testing web services. For example, when we test web services, there is a visual component that we can import in SoapUI but not in Postman."
"Unfortunately, because of this, I have to search for another solution that supports SOAP APIs, because Postman doesn't."
"It should be able to check the records and compare them to the regression testing more on the automation side."
"I think they could make version management easier and release it when it comes to container-based or Docker-based architecture."
"I was not even aware that it was possible to automate tasks in Postman...Some features related to the automation of tasks need to be added to the solution."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Boomi AtomSphere API Management is a cheap product."
"The price is reasonable."
"The product can get very expensive quickly if you connect to multiple databases."
"Boomi AtomSphere API Management gives customers a good price. Price-wise, the product is good."
"This solution offers a free version."
"Postman is an open-source product. It is free to download from Google."
"We are using its free version."
"The solution's price is reasonable."
