Has required significant improvements due to limited features but offers simple implementation and good support
Boomi AtomSphere API Management has very few features. If you ask me to name the top two, I would say MuleSoft and Apigee, as it depends on the customer-to-customer use cases. After those, WSO2, Kong, and whether you say Informatica API Manager or Boomi AtomSphere API Management, they stand with only three out of ten features which are essential for API management. All the features that Apigee has, they need to add. All the features that MuleSoft has, they need to add. It is not a simple task. The problem is that they lack features. It is not their performance. There are many features to mention. When you take and compare all the features that Apigee has and all the features that MuleSoft has, they need to implement those features.

Centralized collaboration has transformed API testing and documentation across multiple teams
In terms of improvement, the UI can sometimes feel heavy for larger collections in the workspaces. Additionally, performance may slow down with complex API projects, and pricing can be expensive for smaller teams. However, it is quite suitable for bigger teams. Other areas for improvement include better reporting and analytics dashboards, and more advanced native test environment features could enhance workflow, with smoother offline support and sync handling. Additionally, better performance for very large collections would be helpful, along with more intuitive navigation for enterprise-scale workspaces, stronger reporting analytics, easier management of permissions across large teams, and more flexible automation and testing report options would be beneficial. Small usability and performance improvements would make Postman Enterprise even more efficient for larger organizations. Postman Enterprise needs better performance optimization for large enterprises, more detailed analytics user reporting, improved API governance and audit visibility, simpler permissions and access control management, faster sync and loading times for larger collections, and more advanced built-in testing and reporting capabilities.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Integrations take less time."
"We can create APIs straightforwardly and quickly and build jobs for data migration."
"The stability of the solution is good."
"The product's stability is good."
"The user interface, which we use to create the integration, basically has the data structures collected, is pretty easy to navigate, is a drag and drop style of working, and there is very little code required so the creation of the endpoints is very simple."
"Boomi AtomSphere API Management is a good product for integrating with Boomi as a backend service."
"AtomSphere is tightly integrated into the Boomi iPaaS platform. And Boomi has been augmenting AtomSphere API Management for the past couple of years so version 2.0 is better than 1.0."
"AtomSphere API Management is a simple platform that's easy to use. If you're using it on-prem, there's a little learning curve."
"This is an easy solution to manage."
"We prefer Postman as it is the most usable solution; it's really accessible."
"What is most valuable for me is that we can create and share collections between the team members."
"The best thing about Postman is it was very easy to use, and we could test APIs and get immediate results."
"No coding required."
"It's user-friendly and free, and anybody can learn it within five to seven minutes."
"We use it for REST API testing. Feature-wise, it is pretty lightweight. It is pretty fast, and we don't have to do a lot of things. We can just simply go and post our endpoint, and it gives different kinds of authorizations. We usually use authentication 2.0, which is the most common industry practice. So, it has the support for authorization through 2.0."
"The solution has helped us make better APIs, and it is able to provide us with error reports if there are problems with the APIs, which has saved our developers time."

Cons

"Boomi AtomSphere API Management has very few features. If you ask me to name the top two, I would say MuleSoft and Apigee, as it depends on the customer-to-customer use cases."
"Overall, I would rate AtomSphere lower than solutions like APG or API Connect."
"The product is really complex to manage."
"To some degree, you need to know what type or amount of API you are creating - whether it's a rest API or web service API. You need to know ETL in order to really get the most out of Boomi."
"Boomi AtomSphere API Management can be improved in terms of threshold management and policy management."
"From an improvement perspective, the price could be cheaper."
"It's difficult to integrate the on-prem application with the Dell Boomi Cloud. We have to check to ensure the Dell domain engine is running. It just requires some service endpoints from our on-prem application to connect to Dell Boomi Cloud to make it available to integrate. It would be better if AtomSphere API Management were offered as a purely SaaS application, so I wouldn't need an on-prem component to make it available. We could make a test call or provide some connection parameters. That should enable it to pull the data."
"Scalability is an area where Boomi lacks."
"Multi-part requests should be handled in the octet-stream."
"We do the implementation of Postman and give support. We had to use two engineers for the implementation, one senior and one junior for the process."
"Version management could be simplified."
"One thing which Postman needs to improve is the documentation. The documentation of Postman is not that great when compared to other tools."
"I have not seen much use of Postman Enterprise for API governance capabilities in maintaining compliance and consistency within my organization up until now."
"The request encryption could be one thing on which they can work a little bit. If we don't want to expose our production data but we still want to test our APIs on the production data, there should be a way to do that. It is not only with Postman. I think no tool in the market is doing that right now."
"Something that could be better is the inclusion of another type of test, for example, end-to-end tests."
"Initially, the setup is a little bit complex. Whenever a user comes to Postman for the first time, it is just a bit complex since they do not know where to start and what is the structure."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Boomi AtomSphere API Management gives customers a good price. Price-wise, the product is good."
"Boomi AtomSphere API Management is a cheap product."
"The price is reasonable."
"The product can get very expensive quickly if you connect to multiple databases."
"I am using the free option."
"Postman is an open-source product. It is free to download from Google."
"We do not pay any money for Postman."
"This tool is open-source and free to download and use."
"The solution's price is reasonable."
"I rate the product's price a nine or ten on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is very expensive. Postman is an expensive tool for Turkey."
"The solution has moderate pricing."
"It is free."
