Database monitoring has improved performance tuning and now automates repetitive DBA tasks
The best features of BMC AMI Data, in my opinion, are data performance monitoring and the optimization capability. Another valuable capability is that there are strong points because they reduce the repetitive DBA tasks because the automation capability is present. I value the data management and backup and recovery capability also. One thing that stands out about BMC AMI Data's features is how closely the performance analysis and database management capabilities are integrated. Instead of using separate tools for performance monitoring and workload analysis, and also the routine DB2 administration, BMC AMI Data brings many of these capabilities together. The automation is valuable because it can reduce the repetitive DBA work. Regarding BMC AMI Data's AI capabilities, I have a positive impression from the security perspective. The solution provides very useful visibility and control around the database operations, which is important when working with sensitive data and strict security requirements. I would still want clear governance around the access controls, audit capability, data handling, and how recommendations are generated and used. I find BMC AMI Data's capability useful for identifying unusual patterns, and I trust it. The output is generally helpful as a starting point for an investigation, but I would not treat it as a final one because some areas still need stronger root cause accuracy. I prefer to validate the findings against the database and the workload data before I consider or take any action. Overall, I see the AI capability as useful. I would assess BMC AMI Data's automation capability as strong. In our day-to-day work, BMC AMI Data helps us reduce the repetitive efforts. We can automate activities such as space monitoring, organization recommendations, statistic collection, performance analysis, utility scheduling, and copy and recovery management. It also allows us to monitor SQL tuning insights proactively rather than relying entirely on manual analysis. This lets the DBA team spend more time on the higher-value troubleshooting and optimization instead of repeatedly performing routine checks and maintenance tasks. I find BMC AMI Data's analytics and intelligence features useful for turning performance data into actionable areas for investigation. Historical pattern analysis helps highlight unusual behavior. Workload and performance information helps narrow an issue down to a specific SQL, specific database object, or specific resource use. The AI-driven anomaly detection is particularly useful for identifying the patterns that might otherwise take a longer time to spot manually.

Developers have benefited from flexibility and performance but pricing has needed further attention
I am only familiar with databases and applications. I am from the development team and I am a user of database and cloud but I don't know the infrastructure. As a user, I deal with the Oracle Database. I know the organization has a license with the product. We don't utilize real-time analytics with MongoDB Atlas. I don't use MongoDB Atlas directly, so I don't know how it can be improved. I would place MongoDB Atlas at a medium level. I would rate it at a six or seven. I believe MongoDB Atlas can improve a little. My overall review rating for this product is six out of ten.

"BMC AMI Data has positively impacted our organization by improving our database operations, mainly by giving us visibility into the performance issues."
"I have reduced a lot of incident failures since using BMC AMI Data, am able to see a significant improvement in CICS transactional response times and overall region health, and have stopped the storage violations, transactional bottlenecks, and task buildups that I faced earlier, with this improvement very visible in my high-volume real-time environments."
"MongoDB Atlas was explicitly designed to support IoT applications. Many databases offer features tailored for IoT use cases."
"It can store data as a flat file, similar to a file system."
"The scalability is very high, the performance is very high, and the cost is lower as compared to the traditional database for cloud."
"Object-based data storing capability and managing non-structured data capability are the most valuable features of MongoDB Atlas."
"I would recommend MongoDB Atlas for those who want to start using it."
"In my previous company, the product allowed us to build a database in a highly regulated environment with the ability to get distributed storage, and we used MongoDB as a distributed storage to set up this environment for a critical business application with millions of dollars."
"It has a flexible integration with our easy API."
"Our databases used to be in-house. Now, they are in the cloud with MongoDB and everything is much easier."

Cons

"I have had a good experience but there are a few improvements. The user interface feels a bit outdated compared to modern monitoring tools."
"I think the area for improvement in BMC AMI Data is the user interface; it feels somewhat dated and operational heavy."
"BMC AMI Data monitors technical components very well, but end-to-end business transaction tracing is still limited."
"I think there is nothing to be improved in BMC AMI Data, but I believe from the customer service point of view, it should be more convenient rather than mailing and waiting for twenty-four hours to get a response."
"We had some edge cases where scalability was an issue where a node went offline, and we had to deal with that."
"The initial configuration fine-tuning for performance can be time-consuming."
"The initial setup is not too difficult but can be somewhat tricky."
"The cost needs improvement."
"The UI application for MongoDB crashes a lot, so we would have to use a third-party plugin to make it work."
"MongoDB Atlas should add more APIs in their Terraform module because sometimes I find it difficult to find the resources in their Terraform model."
"The import and export process needs improvement, i.e., getting in and out. Moving data from other databases into MongoDB, along with indexing, was challenging."
"The product's file storage documentation needs improvement."
