User-friendly interface, exceptional support, and enables a lot of time savings
The overall benefit of using BlueCat Integrity is that it allows access to servers and troubleshooting of servers, which is not offered by some of the other market products. When you use BlueCat Integrity, you learn more than VDI. You get hands-on experience with Linux. You get to learn more things when you are using BlueCat Integrity. They also offer exceptional customer service. BlueCat Integrity provides a single-pane-of-glass view of our IP address space. Within this single pane of glass, we can also have multiple views. I can create multiple subblocks and configure them, for example, country-wise. It drastically reduces human error, reducing it by 80% to 85%. BlueCat has helped our organization reduce downtime. We can monitor the online status of services with the help of SNMP. We can use all three SNMP variables, such as SNMPv1, SNMPv2, and SNMPv3. With the help of that, we can monitor server health. It has helped save a huge amount of time in the domain and record creation process. It saves about 90% of our time. BlueCat Integrity has relieved engineers from manual tasks, freeing up time for other projects. It relieves engineers in a huge way. It relieves the DDI engineers from touching the Linux bind servers or DB servers. Using BlueCat Integrity saves a huge amount of time. With that time, we can handle other projects. I use REST APIs. I create scripts, and we have our gateway, so we create our own gateway workflows. We use BlueCat automation to create around four to five thousand objects. It saves about two minutes per object.

Constantly improving and adapting to customer needs
The effectiveness of Google Cloud DNS largely depends on where an organization stands in its cloud journey and its overall technology landscape. For those heavily invested in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and already embracing cloud solutions, Google Cloud DNS can be rated quite high, ranging from seven to nine out of ten.Deployment times for Google Cloud DNS can vary depending on the complexity of the infrastructure and configuration requirements. For straightforward setups and cloud-ready cases, deployment can typically be completed within a few minutes to an hour. However, in more complex infrastructure scenarios involving extensive configuration, deployment may take longer, possibly spanning days or weeks.

Quotes from Members

Pros

"BlueCat Integrity's scalability and user-friendliness are the most valuable features."
"It's a critical infrastructure piece. This is where all the IPs are named for the whole organization. It's a big deal. It has all the features related to DNS and DHCP. It's pretty amazing."
"The most valuable feature of BlueCat Integrity is decentralized management, which enables real-time visibility and control over the entire IP address space, DNS, and DHCP from a single console."
"It is easy to use. It has an understandable GUI interface. Its deployment is relatively easy."
"The most valuable piece, which has been a lifesaver, would be the BlueCat DNS resolver. BlueCat Cloud DNS resolver is a tool that takes a look into your cloud's DNS and then reports back everything it finds into BlueCat's DNS Edge solution. The Edge solution has a bunch of nice rules that you can configure to route the DNS traffic. That automation alone is a lifesaver for me for the day-to-day churn of the DNS components that change on an hourly, daily basis."
"I've been impressed by BlueCat's performance and user-friendly GUI."
"Since implementing BlueCat, we have experienced fewer problems, anomalies, and strange issues."
"Adaptive DNS's best feature is DDoS protection, which stops malware and network security attacks."
"The tool is well integrated. We don’t need the interface of another provider. The product helps me manage my domain and write in Google Cloud."
"The initial setup process is easy."
"The scalability is good."
"Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten."
"Google Cloud DNS continues to evolve based on customer feedback and technological advancements."
"It is a scalable solution."
"The most significant features are the internal and external endpoints using Google Cloud DNS, which are very beneficial for dependent apps."

Cons

"XHA has some very unusual requirements. If you're running just two BlueCat appliances for a given area of responsibility, then in VMware, if they land on the same VM host, you can run into challenges with XHA, which we are learning."
"One complaint about the interface is BlueCat's handling of subzones."
"The solution does not export reports in a comprehensive format."
"Adaptive DNS only supports AWS for network automation and cloud computing and would be improved if it also supported other options like Azure or Google Cloud."
"Usability needs to be better."
"The integration has room for improvement."
"While knowledge is a factor, both technical support and training need a significant overhaul."
"During our testing phase, we encountered some issues with Active Directory and DNS reverse lookups."
"It needs to provide better integration."
"The UX of the product is an area with certain shortcomings where improvements are required."
"Migrating away from Google Cloud DNS can be difficult."
"The cost of using Google Cloud DNS can be relatively high compared to other options, especially considering the cloud environment."
"More features around rules-based configurations would be beneficial."
"The solution's price could be better."
"The UI is tricky to understand for people who have not worked with DNS records. People with little to no experience with DNS records can find it hard to understand. For example, you need to know the hallmarks to input records since they need to be matched in a specific format."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"They're competitive. The way they run their model is good. Could it stand some tweaking? Sure. There are some items there. One of the things I looked at in the recent past was their container solutions. You have to pay for licensing to use their containerized platform, but the licensing doesn't include the container licensing itself. I'd love to be able to have one big package per se."
"While BlueCat falls on the expensive side, its exceptional customer service and consistent quality justify the cost."
"I am not sure about the exact pricing, but I believe their cost is lower compared to Infoblox."
"Adaptive DNS's price depends on your network ranges, the services you want, and the level of support you require."
"BlueCat Integrity's pricing is reasonable within the market."
"Compared to other solutions, BlueCat Integrity offers a competitive price."
"BlueCat Integrity meets our expectations and aligns with our budget forecast."
"We paid around $5,000 per year for SolarWinds, and now we pay around $20,000 per year for BlueCat, but we have less downtime and fewer issues with DNS and DHCP."
"The product is expensive."
"It is expensive but cost-effective."
"The cost of using Google Cloud DNS can be relatively high compared to other options, especially considering the cloud environment. I would rate it 6 out of 10. Cheaper alternatives might be desirable, but the decision depends on various factors such as vendor lock-in, organizational adaptability, and alignment with other technologies in use."
"I am not sure about the pricing. However, I can give you a rough estimate which is like ten cents per month per zone."
