Helps us improve our development workflows and enhance team collaboration
Our primary use case for Bitbucket revolves around version control and collaborative development. We utilize it extensively to manage our codebase, facilitate Git operations, and automate our CI/CD pipelines on the Bitbucket Cloud platform. This setup enables seamless collaboration among our team…

Configuration management features improve workflow but require a steep learning curve
I need to work more with Helix Core to identify specific areas for improvement. However, it has an extensive feature set that leads to a steep learning curve, where users need to learn quite a bit of features to work with it effectively. While its customization is not an issue, the GUI might not appeal to everyone.

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It seems to be quite scalable."
"The tool's UI is better."
"Bitbucket is a standard git implementation with perfectly coordinated screens, it's secure, and we have had no problems with it."
"The tool helps us manage different versions of code and branches. I like that Bitbucket is similar to Git but may have some vendor support. It has many of the same features as Git."
"The most valuable features are the scripts used for migration purposes and to create new repository releases."
"Bitbucket is significantly cheaper compared to GitHub and it provides on-premises hosting."
"I find Bitbucket's branching, pull requests, and branch mergers very valuable."
"We can watch the newly implemented code. So it's quite nice to organize the teams to see what part of the work is done and what part of the code is already old or new. It is very good for that kind of management."
"The customer service and support are excellent."
"I find the configuration management features of Helix Core particularly valuable."

Cons

"I rate Bitbucket five out of 10 for affordability. It isn't cheap."
"Could provide some default branching options for users to adopt."
"Bitbucket can improve by integrating a tool to manage conflict code. This would save time."
"Technical support is not very fast."
"The scalability for the cloud version can be improved."
"Bitbucket could improve search and indexing capabilities. There is only basic searching available. There is only the ability to index the main branch but not the subbranches. The search capabilities are dodgy."
"I rate the support from Bitbucket a four out of five."
"The module component needs improvement."
"It has an extensive feature set that leads to a steep learning curve, where users need to learn quite a bit of features to work with it effectively."
"However, it has an extensive feature set that leads to a steep learning curve, where users need to learn quite a bit of features to work with it effectively."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I rate the product price as two on a scale of one to ten, where ten means that it is a very expensive tool."
"I rate the pricing an eight out of ten because it is cheaper than solutions like GitLab."
"I rate the price from Bitbucket a four out of five."
"When you increase from ten people to anything higher the price increase to one thousand five hundred. That is unsatisfactory and they should have a gradual price slope."
"Bitbucket is an inexpensive product."
"I did not pay for the license as I was using a corporate license. But I think the pricing is fair."
"Sometimes there are issues in obtaining licenses and the pricing could be improved."
"Licensing is on a monthly basis, it's available on our website. They have a free version, the pro version and then they have an enterprise version, and we're using a kind of the middle of the pro version for about $7 per user per month."
