An easy-to-use project management solution with good stability and scalability
The recent update on the solution has made it a little bit complex. For example, to create a team and a project, there is a separate button that you need to click. Recently they updated it with only one button making it difficult for us to create teams or supply teams other than a project. Hence the solution could be more user-friendly. Additionally, some additional features need to be integrated so it'll be easy for other companies or project managers to manage software projects.

User-friendly interface simplifies project management but it requires stable connectivity
We primarily use monday.com for project management within our department, which includes sales, operations, and engineering monday.com makes it very easy to input any information. The style and format are user-friendly, making it practical for our needs despite some network issues. The need for…

Easy to tag people and has a form system to collect information but cannot work in multiple channels simultaneously
There are several areas where Wrike could improve. First, it doesn't allow accessing multiple channels simultaneously, which would be useful. Transferring data from one project to another is also difficult. It would be easier to work on parallel tasks across different projects. I've noticed others facing similar issues when I check the chat on their website. The tool should also improve coordination between external stakeholders and collaborators. It should also integrate financial features.

Quotes from Members

Pros

"The ability to network informally is great for communicating with colleagues."
"The ease of use is valuable."
"The filters are extremely useful."
"Being able to assign our individual tasks helps us a ton. I’ve worked with other companies that did not use Monday, and sometimes things would fall through the cracks as there were misunderstandings about who’s the responsibility it was to do something."
"Being able to see everything at a glance and check task status, is wonderful."
"Board templates are really good when you have recurring projects."
"monday.com saves time and gets everyone on the same page within my team."
"Shareable boards are a great solution for clients who want to track the progress of their work orders without checking in with us directly."
"Integrations such as the one for Slack have helped us receive updates on tasks immediately as they occur by other team members."
"The subitems make it crystal clear what tasks are done, in progress, or complete."
"In our company, we heavily rely on Wrike. Wrike has helped in communication, managing all sorts of projects and tasks, and having a history of all our correspondence items."
"The solution is stable and reliable."
"Visibility and organization are the most valuable features of Wrike."
"The product is intuitive. It is easy to learn and update. You can follow the project from the beginning till the end with the help of the solution. The tool helps to update the project in seconds."
"We can easily write down the tasks and reorganize them as well as have a progression index. Wrike offers several views including a kanban view and Gantt chart view."
"I find Wrike's form system very valuable. I can share forms with my collaborators, and they can fill them out, providing me with the necessary information. Another useful feature is the communication platform, which makes it easy to tag someone and communicate efficiently. Additionally, the integration with Microsoft Office is great. I can create a card on Wrike directly from my MS Teams chat, which is convenient."
"This is a good tool for project progress tracking and sharing tasks with internal and external parties."
"The most valuable feature of Wrike is the tag functionality."

Cons

"The solution could be more user-friendly."
"The product isn't easy to use. It's not very intuitive."
"Timetracking should be a little more powerful."
"The solution has dashboards, however, you have a limited amount. You may only get ten when you need closer to 30. We often need to create many boards. For example, we might need one board per customer. If we have more than ten customers, we run out of boards available. I'm not sure if you can pay more in order to get more or if it's just a design limitation. It's unclear. In any case, they should be more generous."
"It does have some native report widgets, but there are limitations on those. They're still building that capability out in my opinion. The reporting in monday.com is probably the weakest link, but there are third-party apps that you can add in that do some great reporting for you. You can also tie monday.com into a data warehouse and use something like Tableau, Power BI, or any reporting tool that can report out of a data warehouse to get the more in-depth reports that you need. Monday.com will get there, but it doesn't seem to be one of their top priorities."
"Though it offers full customizability, the table is an area where the product's performance is not quite up to the mark."
"The mobile app is not as user-friendly and as adaptable as I'd like it to be."
"There should be on-screen PC/Mac notifications when the website/service is not open on the screen."
"It is difficult to create templates for repeat use cases."
"As far as I know, when I make a new entry on a Board, and I'm putting in the first piece of information, you can't just hit return or tab to the next element."
"It would be great if they could develop more reporting."
"On one side, it's very easy to create a task with text, but on the other side, it's not very well-formatted. Therefore, it's difficult to track specific data written in a task. We are making templates, but it's not enough to use a template to know the exact status of different tasks. One thing that we are looking for in Wrike is a better workflow. Because we can only move the status of tasks, we can't really manage workflow and send a task to a specific person. This is what is really missing in Wrike as compared to other tools. We are looking to replace Wrike because we need support for workflow. Another issue with Wrike is that they bring a lot of versions of the tool, which it's not so easy. They bring new versions very frequently, and these versions look similar. For example, we are using robots to read the tasks in the tools, which is problematic with Wrike because it is changing very frequently."
"The response from the website is a little bit slow, and the tool is too expensive for a small team."
"The product needs to send direct emails to customers updating the latest aspects since it is better to hear directly."
"This solution could be improved if we were able to better analyze how the application consumes cloud resources as this can cause a delay in performance."
"What annoys me with Wrike and things that I would like to improve is that you need to have a very organized workflow that everyone in the company follows, and only then will Wrike work."
"There are several areas where Wrike could improve. First, it doesn't allow accessing multiple channels simultaneously, which would be useful. Transferring data from one project to another is also difficult. It would be easier to work on parallel tasks across different projects. I've noticed others facing similar issues when I check the chat on their website."
"We feel that the actual project reports and roll-ups could be a lot different. We are seeking something more for the dashboard. We would like a high-level dashboard that can be broken down into individual product roll-ups and tasks that are assigned. If you assign someone to a task, it assigns them all of the tasks under that. We want to be able to break those down so that a person doesn't have an 800 task list, for example. We want more separation with that and a higher-level dashboard experience."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"It was fairly reasonable. For everything we were using it for, it was fairly reasonable."
"monday.com's pricing is fair compared to its competitors, although it is a bit more expensive than most of them. It's more expensive than Jira, Zoho, ClickUp, and Trello. But it is fairly priced when you compare the kinds of features and the capabilities that you get and the ROI."
"The product is not expensive."
"The price is reasonable for the number of users we have."
"Fees are paid monthly per user."
"Though I am unsure about the product's pricing plan, there is a need to make monthly payments towards the licensing costs attached to the solution, and it operates on a per-user plan."
"The pricing of monday.com was a little bit high for us, especially here in South Africa, compared to Basecamp."
"I am using the tool's free version."
"Wrike is very expensive, and its price is almost $1,400."
"Wrike is expensive."
"Wrike is not so expensive, but I don't know exactly how it compares with other tools. Wrike might not be so cheap when we are using it for a lot of users."
"From a pricing perspective, I would rate Wrike a four out of five."
