The user interface is easy to understand, but its performance could be improved
I also work with IBM Sterling B2B Integrator. Unlike Axway AMPLIFY B2B Integration, IBM Sterling B2B Integrator doesn't have a UI-based platform to monitor all incoming and outgoing transactions. We use IBM Sterling B2B Integrator for everything, including transmission. We use Axway AMPLIFY B2B Integration only for transmission purposes. We use Axway AMPLIFY B2B Integration because it has a great user interface, which makes it very easy to monitor everything. IBM Sterling B2B Integrator is better than Axway AMPLIFY B2B Integration because it is a very robust solution. Unlike cloud-based systems, IBM Sterling B2B Integrator can handle very complex logic. It can easily process files with 5 GB to 10 GB sizes. Once you take the license, you won't have to pay anything extra for computing power.

Experience with robust integrator reveals strong performance and potential for interface updates
Based on my experience and my clients' feedback, there are a few points IBM can improve for IBM B2B Integrator. One of these is the graphical user interface. For several years, IBM has been promising to renew this interface, which has an ancient, old aesthetic, though it contains many functionalities. Creating a new interface would incur a very high internal cost with no new profitability for IBM. This is one of the points where customers say it feels like working in the 1990s with this interface. Another significant issue is that the platform is not multi-tenant. It's not possible to have different tenants in the cloud. This creates problems when trying to create SaaS offers based on IBM B2B Integrator, as there is the possibility that some workflow for a customer can be visible to another one. Since it's not multi-tenant, it's running on the same tenant of the platform. This is the main issue that the platform has.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The automation of all the data transfers is great."
"Axway AMPLIFY B2B Integration has a great user interface that is easy to understand."
"They get better and better every time they have a new version."
"B2B Integrator is multi-platform, so it can be integrated with Windows, Unix, or whatever, and it can work with almost all programming languages. It can also transfer a lot of data in a short time. For instance, a system I recently implemented exchanges about 20 million files a day."
"One of the most valuable aspects of this solution is that it's a consolidated suite of communication protocols, offerings, data transformation, and back-end application integration."
"Everything from the order to fulfillment to the payment process, except for physical packing and shipping, is fully automated for some customer orders."
"The valuable feature is the ability to integrate across various enterprise systems."
"If anybody has a B2Bi business case, this is definitely one of the solutions, a mature solution in the market that they can consider."
"IBM has done a lot to modernize it a fair bit, so it's been a pretty important bit."
"B2B provides a secure communication channel."

Cons

"The solution's performance could be improved and made similar to that of IBM Sterling B2B Integrator."
"The initial setup can be a bit tricky."
"From the automation perspective, IBM B2B Integrator has its own powerful workflow, but compared to other applications such as MuleSoft or Boomi, they have many cloud connectors and multiple connectors for integrating with Salesforce or other CRM or ERP applications, whereas here you may have to develop them, which is not native."
"From my perspective and as per what I know, it needs more hardening of the environment and they need to make sure that there is less unscheduled downtime."
"There have been a couple of issues that we have raised in terms of scalability and high availability."
"Sometimes, it's hard to get through to the right people."
"The only con of the scalability is that we are trying to see how we can scale to the cloud."
"The one thing that is lacking is easy visibility. It's hard to provide business users with a view into the statuses of their transactions."
"It scales well if you have enough money. It is a very expensive platform."
"IBM B2B Integrator could improve the business process itself, there is no resignation of duties and in terms of the console should be changed in a way that is more user-friendly."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Compared to other SaaS platforms, the solution's pricing is less."
"Licensing depends upon the package you opt for within the solution. The solution is a bit costly compared to the other integration tools in the market."
"We pay an annual fee based on the number of VPUs. It's fairly reasonable. We're in the middle of analyzing other products, and they're all pretty much in the same range."
"The price of IBM B2B Integrator is too high. However, IBM may be willing to give a discount if there are negotiations. If they see that there is a good opportunity for them they can provide a discount."
"The solution is priced at $20,000 to $30,000 per year with no extra costs."
"The pricing is based on how many cores are used and the type of cores."
"The product costs more than 40K."
