Basically, what happens is that during the initial boot-up of the product upon installation, we do face some hiccups because of the DB connectivity. That is a major issue in which initially the console doesn't load properly. This is the initial part. Although during transactions, we have not faced any issues. But here and there, those internal DBs which will be storing all those configurations are impacted sometimes. It is the process of integration with the DB and the loading up of the console, which is something we found difficult. That is one thing. Another thing which we found is that we were running a migration project from Oracle onto Axway AMPLIFY B2B Integration. In that migration project, we found that we wanted to modify a few headers. That is something which is not available out-of-the-box. We had to write some custom coding. That's the reason why we had to take help from Axway Professional Services. Configurations or customizations is something which is not very easy. We have to go through a lot of assistance from Axway support team, their product support team, to get those custom logics implemented here. These were header conversions, basically upper case to lower case header conversions. It is a little complex because as I said, we do certificate installations. Axway AMPLIFY B2B Integration doesn't have a trust store or certificate store which will hold all the certificates. This is not the same, because as I said, we were migrating from Oracle. Oracle was having a trust store. Axway AMPLIFY B2B Integration was not having a trust store. Somehow mapping that was kind of difficult for us to set it up initially. We are satisfied with the functionality part. Performance is also not an issue. Sometimes we do face some issues loading up and with customizations.

Exceptional support and reliability drive optimal data flow and integration
The features of SEEBURGER Business Integration Suite that I found most valuable are related to entity flow. We can find the entity flow to be very useful so we can grab the flow accordingly. There is no disturbance in the connections, and it is very clear to check the connection flow with applicable queues. When comparing to other applications, SEEBURGER Business Integration Suite is the easiest way to understand the application. I have also worked on the cloud services where SEEBURGER Business Integration Suite is moving to cloud. I have worked on cloud services where the mapping part is in the cloud itself, along with the connection setup.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Currently, we were using Oracle SOA Suite, and Axway AMPLIFY B2B Integration also satisfies the product. It has almost 95% plus, I think 95 to 100% of the features of the products offered in the market are available with Axway AMPLIFY B2B Integration."
"Axway AMPLIFY B2B Integration has a great user interface that is easy to understand."
"The automation of all the data transfers is great."
"It is stable and reliable. We have not had any issues."
"Sitting around with SEEBURGER at a seminar in December and discussing their project plan for the future, I think this product is the way to go."
"We rarely get hanged processes."
"Among the most valuable features are the EDI translator and a lot of the components which enable creating compliance sets. Having something standard out-of-the-box and being able to use that has been a huge benefit for us."
"SEEBURGER BIS can reconcile documentation, like our accounts payable and statements within the system. If you are manually doing it, then it is really time consuming with a lot of errors. Whereas, SEEBURGER BIS allows for a lot of basic level programming within the documentation, filtering, and sorting out VLOOKUP. It lets us get two database tables from two different systems, then merge them based on the logic that we provide. So, it is a very helpful product."
"When orders come in they go into our ERP system directly, so there is integration there."
"It used to take half an hour to move one file from one location to another. Now, it takes 10 minutes."
"It has enabled digital business processes. It's the connection between our ERP system and the rest of the company. We were able to automate processing invoices digitally like an inbound invoice and FastPay payments."

Cons

"It is the process of integration with the DB and the loading up of the console, which is something we found difficult."
"The initial setup can be a bit tricky."
"The solution's performance could be improved and made similar to that of IBM Sterling B2B Integrator."
"Error messages in the main area could be better, but you can say that about any product."
"I find the solution quite confusing to use, especially when looking at the tree structure."
"That is the component that we definitely have the biggest issue with."
"The BIS Front End needs a little bit of refreshing, especially when it comes to setting up new trading partners and trading partner agreements or transactions. It can be a bit clumsy to copy and rename and then go in and modify."
"A person whom I work with, and is not very technical, found the setup complex, as there are a lot of steps."
"It's rather difficult to understand, from the application, what's broken and why it doesn't work. We typically need to get support from them directly, and it's usually in a consulting role, to fix issues."
"On the server side, there are a lot of administration and configuration files that you need to go in and do maintenance on. You have to find them in a certain folder so it's very error-prone and it can be a little time consuming unless it's documented. They could pull some of those individual configuration files into the product itself where there's a better user interface for that."
"When we got SEEBURGER Business Integration Suite (BIS), it was clear that it was going to take more of a technical person. It does take a technically-rooted individual to operate it. It's not something for your everyday guy to do. For what it's doing for us, a dedicated resource is required."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Compared to other SaaS platforms, the solution's pricing is less."
"All the new adapters are individually priced, which is good. You don't buy the whole system and then if you don't use it, you don't use it. You only buy the stuff you want..."
"We have additional ad hoc development costs, but those vary depending on if we're bringing on another third-party into our systems via the EDI integration. So, that's highly variable."
"I had a problem at one time with their invoicing. I told them, then we worked on the process and improved it. They installed the connection between SAP and SEEBURGER BIS in Europe first. This was awhile ago. When I came along, I became involved in the project and started working with them. Every time that I made a request, the work was done well, but I was not receiving my invoices. I knew I had to pay for the work and was trying to find someone to send me the invoices or a report of what was being done. From that end, it was really not working. After a few years, I was complaining and not happy. At the end of the year, they would come with a long list of invoices to pay, which was really bad. So, I asked for a change. We worked on the process, and since five years ago, I have worked with SEEBURGER based in North America. Now, when I have a question, I know who to contact. They send me a report with invoices every month. They really reacted to my concern, and we improved the process. Since then, I have had no problem."
"The pricing and licensing is very competitive."
"The only thing that would be an improvement would be if they had a cost model whereby you could just pay for what you're actually using. Even if it were a minimum monthly charge that they offered, if you're not utilizing all of that then they should consider a lower tier. That way, they could attract more business."
"I find the pricing expensive. But I know that when we evaluated another company, it was about the same. That just seems to be the market. It's probably not expensive overall."
"They need to be more competitively priced. When it comes to training, they need to lower their prices. It shouldn't be so specific. Maybe they should outsource training to another company. From what I can see, their training is pretty expensive, and they don't do anything for free."
"The pricing is cheap. In fact, when I saw the pricing, I thought, "Really? What's the catch?" But the functionality that we get out of it, for the price we pay, is great value."
