Who are the leaders of the Gartner Magic Quadrant for APM in 2021?

Dynatrace, Cisco/AppDynamics, New Relic & Datadog.

A few questions to keep in mind when approaching APM as a whole:

1 - what metrics will help me gain the real insight I need to solve problems or improve my service offering?

2 - Have I identified the most critical portions (network segment, application, services)?

3 - how will I gain the information required to deliver those metrics - visibility layer (SPAN, Tap, Packetbroker, agent, Netflow, etc.).

Yes, Dynatrace and AppDynamics are number 1 and 2. 

I have worked for a long time with both of them. 

Within IT everything is changing fast and I'm sure Instana with Turbonomics will be the next one. It is not only monitoring but as well financial visibility and automated changes - a totally new approach.

Do not be limited to the leaders of the MQ only. Search for the solution that fits your needs best.

We did an evaluation that happened to include the 4 options.  

Most companies can be successful with any of the solutions. Our selection aligned with the highest rated product, Dynatrace, therefore they appeared to get it right.
