Orchestrated Service Virtualization OverviewUNIXBusinessApplication

What is Orchestrated Service Virtualization?
Tosca Testsuite’s Orchestrated Service Virtualization (OSV) allows enterprises to simulate the behavior of any service needed in your application. It also allows enterprises to create business scenarios that are able to simulate complex business processes even before the completion of your application. OSV offers the independence necessary to avoid costly delays and enables earlier testing within the product cycle.

Live connectivity benefits but is lacking customization options
Pros and Cons
  • "You can push transactions through to live, and you can intercept some transactions and return them back with mocked data."
  • "The initial setup was complex."

What is our primary use case?

Our primary use of the solution is for mocking of API codes.

What is most valuable?

One feature we like is the live connectivity of the product. In other words, you can push transactions through to live, and you can intercept some transactions and return them back with mocked data.

What needs improvement?

We haven't used the product extensively yet, so I don't have a specific area for improvement at this time. We could say customization could be improved.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been working with the solution for over one year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution seems to be stable; from our usage level so far it is.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was complex.

What about the implementation team?

We did the setup ourselves, but we're bringing in an external company to help us understand better and be able to properly use it ourselves.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing of the solution comes as part of our Tosca bundle, so we're happy with that.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate the solution a seven out of ten. It needs additional support for industry-standard protocols. My advice to anyone looking to implement this solution would be to bring in an expert to make sure that the initial setup is done correctly and then build upon that.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Hybrid Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
