Pros
"The solution's basic visibility is one of its most valuable features. So, it is a solution that is easy to use...The solution's initial setup process was straightforward.""We haven't really experienced any glitches or bugs.""The initial setup was straightforward. We didn't find it to be too complex.""The alerts are the most valuable feature.""The feature I find most valuable, is the data integration.""The Add data feature lets you gather any type of log and easily analyze it.""Great monitoring of network devices.""The data collection from our VMs, containers, databases, and backend components is valuable."

"Health and communication links availability.""We detect problems before the customer does and before it actually happens using the predictive functions in Zabbix.""Every new asset placed in the environment can be automatically detected, predicting human failures.""They've already added extra features, such as noise-canceling and facial recognition, which is great.""The basic setup is very easy.""The most valuable feature is monitoring.""I have found that the reporting feature in Zabbix is most valuable. Additionally, the solution has given us bandwidth options, we are able to see where problems are. For example, we noticed a problem that occurred because of a bad interface going in the wireless VLAN.""It is a great product. The SNMP protocol tracking feature is good. Cons
"The implementation can be more user-friendly.""There is a lot of room for improvement with the automation.""They need more EDR functionalities.""A lot of customers had a hard time effectively searching within the data in Splunk. There is a learning curve from searches to indexes and using all the macros that we have created. It is a little difficult for somebody who has not used it quite a bit and does not have a lot of practice with it, but the AI features that we have been hearing about through Splunk will make it a lot easier for us to use human language to search this data. That is big. That is pretty powerful, and that will help a lot with our customers.""In the next release, I would like to see more integration with other solutions.""It does not have a user-friendly interface and it is difficult to use.""I would like to see an improvement and some innovation in the customer interface.""The clustering part of indexes can be more refined."

More Splunk Infrastructure Monitoring Cons →

"The graphical user interface could be customized a little bit more, and also the dashboard could be more friendly.""Zabbix does not draw automatic mapping of the network, this is something they should add in the future. There is a lot of effort that is involved in tailoring some of the settings which could be made easier.""In terms of user-friendliness, large maps could be more interactive. We should be able to click on some areas and move some objects. It would make it simpler to see things while analyzing some dedicated parameters.""As far as improvements, sometimes I get a bit frustrated when I move from a previous version to a new one because some configuration has changed—I need to investigate the documentation to deal with some configuration. But it doesn't take much time, so it's okay.""There are not too much documentation or manuals. We found the tutorials very easy to understand but do not go deep enough in the use of Zabbix. We need more manuals, proper use, documentation, etc.""We would like to monitor other touchpoints such as ATM machines. It would be great if it can provide monitoring of ATM machines. Compatibility with other products would also be great.""The GUI could be more intuitive. Also, we'd like streaming telemetry. Zabbix might have this feature, but I haven't seen it yet. It took us a long time to get started because the documentation isn't very descriptive. We had to go through various sources like YouTube and forums to get this solution working.""I would like to better be able to monitor Oracle processes."

I have researched a quite a few network monitoring tools which can be used for various monitoring purposes of not only the servers, but the intermediate routers as well. There are majorly three types of these softwares. Ones which are completely open-source, you can do almost anything you want using these, but they require quite some expertise before you can use them. Then there are the ones that are not open source, the enterprise softwares and cost you some money, but on the other hand, they are extremely easy to set-up and learn. You can have them up and running in a matter of minutes. And then there are those which are completely cloud based. They can be free of cost or charge some money depending on the software. The good thing about these is that you don’t have to install any extra software, and it can be managed completely online but then again these have limited features and you cannot exploit them to the full extent as you can do with the open-source and to some extent the enterprise software, so I won’t suggest you to use these, because these are generally not the complete solutions and require other support software to achieve the same. Below I have listed the outstanding pros and cons of the various Network analyzers that you can look into Nagios Pros: Nagios offers an extensive set of collector plug-ins that allows users to gather performance and availability data from a broad range of operating systems, including  Windows and Netware Nagios… Read more →
