Unified monitoring has transformed agriculture training data into secure, actionable insights
The foundational pillars of Splunk AppDynamics are very strong, and we do not have any issues. However, there are standardization challenges with limited visibility on some parameters when the system is integrated with multiple platforms because of differing technology stacks. Many applications function on different technologies, making fetching data difficult. We have discussed this with the business team, and they have said that they will offer a standardized application architecture through which APIs can be made more stable and accommodating. We have also requested a centralized monitoring framework and network, as many clients operate out of India and have requested centralized systems for real-time performance monitoring with just one click. Improvements and enhancements are happening weekly, and there are requests for regular training and orientation. I believe those things can be incorporated, but otherwise, everything is fantastic. For the agriculture ecosystem, there are many areas in remote or rural areas where connectivity constraints are huge. Limited internet bandwidth makes real-time monitoring difficult. We have requested the team to develop a hybrid model for real-time monitoring on lower bandwidth as well. Deploying offline-first or low-bandwidth solutions would strengthen synchronization. Additionally, mobile applications for rural environments would be beneficial. In data quality and governance, sometimes the system gives duplicate records, and there is inconsistency when checking data fields. It is not frequent, but we believe a complete solution can be developed here.

Great topic subscription monitoring, helpful management, and useful for audits
Addition of more monitoring features to Azure Cosmos DB can be a huge help as we use the same as the main database for our applications. One more thing to note is that their support team was always ready to clear all our doubts regarding the product but we feel that it would be much appreciated if they could share with us the required resources to get new customers like us well-versed in traversing through different modules of the product. These are the very few areas where Serverless360 can be improved.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"AppDynamics provides visibility on slowness or problems in production and processes in revenue-related products or software, as well as generating performance and availability metrics."
"We found AppDynamics much more user friendly, easy to spot performance issues, and great unified end-to-end monitoring capabilities."
"The platform is reliable in identifying the core system issues."
"Splunk AppDynamics is useful for helping my clients improve business resilience."
"This APM tool has helped our organization to find problems before customers find them."
"The features we find most valuable are real-time monitoring, seeing transactions, being proactive and easy to focus on the real problem."
"The business transaction tier of management is the most valuable feature; the fact that we can go into multiple tiers and monitor the transactions from the end-user point of view."
"It works great for doing what you need, when you want to track response times and error rates; and especially being able to dig down to individual transactions and see the actual call methods."
"Serverless360 transformed the way our organizations manage Azure and hybrid integrations."
"It offers all the core capabilities we need to manage and monitor our Azure services."
"That is exactly where Serverless360 helped us by bringing in both Service Bus management and monitoring under the same hood."
"Service Bus topic subscription monitoring turned out to be the most useful for us."

Cons

"I have found it sometimes a bit difficult to trace the transaction all the way through to the application."
"Application Analytics' performance in pure and native cloud environments could be improved."
"The day-to-day activities should be less complicated so that anyone can manage it."
"More native support for other hardware is needed because having to install various extensions and perform extra setup for different devices is really challenging, and not as easy or straightforward as it is in other products."
"I would like to see a better way to automate actions based on the events generated by the tool."
"AppDynamics is agent-based, so some customers are reluctant to install the agents in all their production environments. It would be helpful if they had an agentless version. It covers applications on the server, but the solution is weak on the network side. The agent is not deployed on the network components, so it cannot provide complete information about issues on the network layer."
"I am a monitoring administrator and one of the biggest issues is that it doesn't have a large environment for support."
"The user experience is quite confusing. There are too many different development stages. The UI is not very intuitive."
"The user interface of Serveress360 could be improved a bit to make the platform even easier to use."
"Addition of more monitoring features to Azure Cosmos DB can be a huge help as we use the same as the main database for our applications."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"AppDynamics does not usually do monthly payments. They do it on an annual basis, at the very least."
"The pricing is quite comparable to similar solutions in the market. All these solutions at the moment are cheap, but it is like paying for insurance; you pay insurance to avoid major damage."
"It is not a cheap tool, but you also save in manpower to setup because it is easy and fast. At the end of the day, I think the revenue is much better. BUT, they have an awful co-term mode of licensing."
"It would be better if there were more solutions incorporated into the base price. "
"AppDynamics offers a yearly basis license."
"We have two different licensing models for this solution. One of them is the agent based model, which requires payment per agent. The other is an infrastructure based model, where the price is based on the CPU core. For the infrastructure model wholesale level pricing applies. All of the up to date licensing prices for this product are available on the manufacturers website."
"AppDynamics Database Monitoring requires a license for database monitoring and other features, while Dynatrace provides monitoring and other features out of the box without additional costs. Sometimes this makes it more challenging to pitch AppDynamics Database Monitoring to customers, especially because you need to buy a separate license. As an implementer, I have yet to learn about the pricing for AppDynamics Database Monitoring. Pricing is taken care of by the sales team."
"There is a license for the solution and we paid approximately $2,000. There is also an additional cost above the standard license which cost us approximately $3,000."
