Enables data-driven decision-making with robust features and effective scalability
The internal design engine and the columnar database are particularly valuable. These features reduce input and output memory, which is crucial in handling large data sets. The solution fulfills the business requirement for scaling and analytics. Snowflake Analytics supports data security with a single sign-on feature and complies with framework regulations, which is highly beneficial.

Standout features are real-time dashboards and powerful aggregation
This product has a powerful aggregating feature which is great. It also has its own APIs. Whenever the data comes in, it can be streamed out anywhere. It's the only solution that provides real-time dashboards. Tableau doesn't have this feature. The three variants of historical data, real-time data and predicted data from Spitfire, give more strength to LiveDatamart without any dependency on other products. The product is easy to set up with very low maintenance required.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"What we found most valuable in Snowflake Analytics are its attributes that are very convenient for business use such as data sharing, cloning, time travel, and fail-safe. It's a good product all in all."
"It is quite a convenient tool."
"Snowflake has a streaming capability to work with real-time streaming data and delta tables."
"The computational power of Snowflake is very good."
"Snowflake Analytics' most valuable feature is its inbuilt infrastructure for executing queries, which I don't have to manage based on my data volume as it's taken care of by Snowflake."
"Its structure aids in storing, managing, and analyzing large datasets in the cloud, using various relationships like one-to-one and many-to-one, ensuring consistency in the data structure."
"The most valuable features of Snowflake for our data analytics are its time travel capability, allowing easy data recovery, and its automatic optimization of partitioning and clustering."
"Scaling is very high – there's no problem for scaling purposes. The learning curve is very small. And there are a lot of advanced features like handling duplicates, security, data governance, data sharing, and data cloning."
"You can create your own rules that include mathematic calculations."
"The solution has a powerful aggregating feature"

Cons

"We haven't seen any areas that are lacking."
"If you have a lot of computations, it becomes very costly."
"The distribution methodology isn't as strong as Bethesda or SAP HANA. It's not as strong as other competitors."
"The tool should support EIM use cases. I guess the product is already working on it. I look forward to seeing inbuilt AI generative tools in the solution's future releases. The tool's price can be a little lower. The solution's on-premises support is also very limited. We have to rely on other support services to deploy it on-premises."
"Snowflake's Snowpark is an area of concern where improvements are required."
"Snowflake Analytics should probably have more built-in tools for master data management."
"The platform could work easier for AI implementation compared to one of its competitors."
"The solution’s interface is good but it could be improved."
"The solution's setup could be quicker and easier."
"Improvements need to be made on the load balancing side."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I rate the product's licensing cost a five or six on a scale of one to ten, where one is low price, and ten is high price."
"The pricing is on the higher side."
"Snowflake charges per query, which amounts to a very minor cost, such as $0.015 per query."
"Snowflake Analytics is not an expensive solution, and its pricing is average."
"The cost of Snowflake Analytics is low, any small organization can use it."
"The solution's price is high and I would rate it an eight out of ten."
"The solution's pricing is affordable."
"It's not costly if you configure it properly to ensure optimal performance. People don't configure it properly, which is why costs go up."
"The solution might be considered a bit expensive because it competes with open-source products."
