Brings reporting, planning, and prediction together in one seamless workflow
I think the areas of SAP Analytics Cloud that could be improved or enhanced are mentioned by users or companies, and they would definitely mention the price in terms of planning licensing. From a consulting point of view, I don't see any major weaknesses. It is reasonably well-developed, and the perfect strength is that innovations are coming on a quarterly basis. It is slightly behind other tools in terms of the number of graphical outputs. Some tools have it faster, but every increment of innovations contains new features. On the other hand, it is perfectly fitting to the SAP environment, with seamless integration to all SAP modules, not only ERP but also SuccessFactors and other tools from the SAP family, for example, integrated business planning for the production planning. This is really a highlight compared to other tools.

Standout features are real-time dashboards and powerful aggregation
This product has a powerful aggregating feature which is great. It also has its own APIs. Whenever the data comes in, it can be streamed out anywhere. It's the only solution that provides real-time dashboards. Tableau doesn't have this feature. The three variants of historical data, real-time data and predicted data from Spitfire, give more strength to LiveDatamart without any dependency on other products. The product is easy to set up with very low maintenance required.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I don't find any negative aspects of SAP Business Data Cloud, to be very honest."
"Seamless planning is equal to live data, and when using live data it is very helpful because I get the data up to date, I do not have to manually refresh it, I can perform all sorts of calculations on my presentation or calculation layer, and present it to the client with live data being fetched into the system, which helped greatly for BI capabilities and allowed me to create multiple reports and dashboards to understand the sales-related dynamics of the current business in real time."
"SAP Analytics can be used as an all-in-one source; it can bring everything together: BI, predictive, planning, simulation — it can combine all of this into a single user interface."
"Its user-friendliness is valuable. It is a product for end-users and not for IT, which is an advantage."
"The stories have really been helpful in looking at specific scenarios and analyzing trends over periods of time."
"The most valuable features are on the application side, where you can design applications into your analytics on the platform."
"Offers both business intelligence as well as inbuilt AI and machine learning capabilities."
"The reporting, dashboards, KPIs, and visualization are the most valuable."
"You can create your own rules that include mathematic calculations."
"The solution is mature and stable, even more so since it was acquired by TIBCO."
"The three variants of historical data, real-time data and predicted data from Spitfire, give more strength to LiveDatamart without any dependency on other products."
"The solution has a powerful aggregating feature"

Cons

"The main area that needs improvement is visualization."
"The interface can be simplified because it is not a user-friendly experience."
"All the features are there, maybe except for the one-gauge visualization."
"I do not perceive any return on investment with SAP Business Data Cloud, as its performance in that area is exceptionally poor and shows no signs of improvement."
"One potential improvement is how we can transpose data. With SAP, if you have data from one system with a declared data type and a different system with another data type, the transfer is tricky."
"Improvement could be made in the pricing of the product which is very expensive, more than Oracle and Power BI and similar solutions."
"Although it might be too early to assess fully, I have seen some return on investment so far."
"Pricing is an area for improvement in SAP Analytics Cloud, apart from exporting."
"The solution's setup could be quicker and easier."
"Live Datamart runs on JVM which only holds Java and only 60 GB of data. If you try to get more out of it than that, it crashes."
"Improvements need to be made on the load balancing side."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It Wasn't directly involved in the pricing discussions, but when I joined the organization, they had already purchased the SAP Analytics Cloud solution. The organization faced challenges due to its perceived expense, leading to restrictions on granting access to many users."
"The price is competitive. There is a power user license and normal user license, but the normal user license is reasonable."
"The pricing of this product is reasonable."
"It's not that costly as such for the time being."
"Its licensing is on a monthly basis."
"This solution offers value for money and you get what you pay for."
"SAP Analytics can be very costly to license, which can make it difficult for organizations to implement."
"The tool's pricing is medium, and licensing costs are yearly."
"The solution might be considered a bit expensive because it competes with open-source products."
