Fast, accurate, and extremely scalable
The most valuable feature is that it is a cloud-based system so I can access it from anywhere, with any browser, on any device. It's the only major accounting ERP system on the market that was designed specifically for the cloud, the other ones were adapted to the cloud. Intacct was always designed with the cloud in mind, and it shows. Additionally, its multi-entity design is elegant, intuitive, and easy to master. Transacting and reporting across all entities from a single log-in is fantastic The user interface is sleek and consistent throughout the software, enabling users to adapt quickly and to work efficiently. The financial report writer is comprehensive and designed to enhance the user experience. I eliminated all of my Excel-based financial reports. The sub-ledgers are well designed and provide the user with tools and functions that improve efficiency.

Extensive real-time analytics and superior support enhance decision making but continued product evolution impacts existing investments
Improvement is needed, and they need to slow down. When I say slow down, they need to do more validation. Things are going rapidly and changing fast. For example, they moved from SAP SRM product to SAP CLM. They bought IBM CLM and marketed it as SAP CLM. Shortly after, they bought SAP Ariba and discontinued the SAP CLM product. Now they state that SAP SRM is outdated and has reached sunset. The challenge is that if a customer has already deployed the entire solution on-premises, it becomes difficult to immediately convert to the new product and manage new license costs. From a consulting perspective, it appears that SAP's biggest competitor is itself, as they sometimes discontinue their own products to promote new ones.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It's a top-tier upgrade for the finance department and does extend into full ERP."
"Its custom reports feature is also noteworthy, as it provides flexibility for users to create their reports, tailored to their specific areas of expertise."
"We also use some of the other Sage solutions and for the most part, everything was integrated in the manner that I found beneficial."
"The most significant advantage of this solution is its pure cloud-based nature."
"Sage Intacct, a full-fledged ERP, can handle complexity that smaller accounting software cannot handle."
"The solution helps us create entity models for each acquisition as we acquire companies.."
"The product is easy to use."
"It's a powerhouse and it delivers. It has really great audit trails in it, which add so much value that the other systems don't have."
"The integration between SAP EWM and S4HANA Cloud is seamless."
"SAP S/4HANA Cloud provides integration, controls, efficiency, visibility into business operations, and collaboration, especially for geographically spread operations."
"The implementation time was approximately 155 to 160 days, which is faster than Oracle implementation."
"I like S/4HANA's automated features, readymade processes, and user interface. It supports various processes required by large international companies, like logistics, procurement, payments, sales, etc. All of these features were available in previous SAP solutions, but HANA has an updated user interface and improved integration with other systems. The readymade processes make HANA a good option if you're adopting a greenfield approach."
"I come from a functional consultancy background, and S/4HANA provides excellent procurement solutions for inventory management. One of S/4HANA's best features in the manufacturing module is the ability to calculate product costs."
"What I like the most about SAP S4HANA is how reliable and powerful it is."
"The most valuable feature of SAP S/4HANA Cloud is the new UX design."
"I have found the financial and production modules to be the most valuable features."

Cons

"In the next release, I would like to see greater integration with the RPA software that's been created."
"The inventory module is quite tricky to use."
"Their training is the biggest room for improvement, and their documentation can get very confusing."
"There's a little bit of room for improvement in the way that accounts payable approval workflows are set up. They could be a little more powerful than they are."
"It would be good if the training were perfect for all controllers, to teach them the basic tools and how to use everything in Sage Intacct."
"While we can create, post, and manage general entries, we face a limitation in allocating multiple JL accounts."
"The area where I would like to see significant improvement is in stock management."
"We have had some pharma manufacturers use Intacct at a very early stage and move to other ERP packages to maintain manufacturing controls and documentation needed for FDA-regulated entities."
"We'd like to have more of a low-code platform."
"Analytics could be improved."
"The scalability of the solution could improve."
"I need more options for enhancing the system, especially compared to the features available in the on-premise version."
"The user experience has some room for improvement. S/4HANA covers various scenarios based on the best business practices, but users complain about its user experience. It is not a user-friendly ERP solution. I rate the current UX seven out of 10."
"I'd like to share my experience during the migration from SAP ERP to SAP S/4HANA in the cloud. My primary challenge in this migration was the requirement to open a ticket for every request during the project phase, not during operational or post go-live phases. Despite this, I must acknowledge that overall, SAP has proven to be very reliable. To clarify the issue, after migrating to SAP S/4HANA, I opted to host my SAP solution on the private cloud by converting the license to SAP Cloud. The drawback I encountered during the project phase was the insistence on opening a ticket or service request for any issue or query I had within the project's activities. Looking ahead, I hope that SAP streamlines and simplifies this process for future customers, making it more user-friendly and efficient than my experience."
"The product can be improved by including a module for after-sales service modules."
"I don't recommend it for very small enterprises."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Compared to other ERP systems on the market, it offers competitive and reasonable pricing."
"The price is comparable to other companies which offer similar products."
"Sage is on the higher end of pricing."
"It's reasonably priced, offering fixed pricing, which is quite fair."
"The pricing of SAP S/4HANA Cloud is on the higher side."
"The solution's costs have significantly increased, and we have not seen any anticipated cost savings."
"The pricing model can be complicated in certain scenarios."
"I don't remember the specifics about the licensing, but it's scaled and modular. You pay for what you use. It's not a one-size-fits-all license. You have a license for every single module. It's similar to Oracle."
"The tool's pricing is reasonable."
"This is a pricey solution that best serves large enterprises. Be sure to ensure that your company's requirements need to be fulfilled by SAP. There are many other ERP's that are cheaper yet highly functional. However, it is still cheaper than some of the competition (i.e. Oracle, ESD, etc.)"
"I feel the solution is expensive when it comes to what can be obtained with open source software."
"SAP S/4 Hana isn't cheap, but its value depends on how much you can leverage from it. It's not just about the system but how well your people are trained to use it and adapt to derive benefits."
